Description
Neo Danganronpa: Despair Uprising is a fangame that I have been working on since June. It is set to be a playable and downloadable visual novel, created using RenPy, with some gameplay elements. It is set after the tragedy of Hope's Peak, and is a fan interpretation/AU of what could've happened after the canon games. (v3 means nothing here). However... you can probably expect that things didn't go so smoothly down at Destiny Reach, the school that rose from the ashes of Hope's Peak. ND:DU will be shorter than most fangames. It's word count is a bit over 115,000+ for the main plot (so that excludes free time and extra alternative endings), but it will still give development and depth to each character.
Voice Actors
Commitment is essential. If you get the part, you will need to do all your lines. I understand that sometimes things pop up, but I would need to know in advance. I am lenient with deadlines, but only to a certain degree. I will select you based on 3 things. a) if your voice fits the character b) the quality of your voice and how professional you sound and c) how confident you sound. Also, discord is compulsory. It is our main way of communicating, and way more efficient. With your auditions, please be dramatic and really feel the character. Get out of yourself, and get into the character, and completely go overboard. These characters have some crazy lines, so you'll need to be able to portray the emotions they're feeling effectively. When it comes to actually doing your real lines if you get in, I can do directing if necessary.

Caedmon is an extremely tall student, the tallest in the cast, standing at 6'11. He carries the Japan national basketball team, and has a serious height complex. Caedmon pretty much despises anyone under the height of 6 feet, as he hates looking down at people. His frequent back and neck problems are all caused by his massive height, that he takes great overwhelming pride in. He puts his teammates before everything and would take a bullet. However, Caedmon also panics easily, and screams a lot. He has a deep, masculine voice, but a very very loud intense scream. (Caedmon has a short description as his character has not been officially released yet.)

Kiaria is a sweet yet occasionally disturbing member of the cast. She can be a bit stubborn at times, but she isn't a bitch. She sometimes teases the other characters. Her voice would be quite childish, and has the uh... how do I put it without triggering people... the voice somewhat comparable to Himiko or Hiyoko. (This description is short due to lack of design and the fact that this character has not properly been released yet.)

Kioko is an overdramatic, and over the top fashion designer. She's very independent, and direct, but almost to the point of being bossy. Her twin sister that is also in their class is frequently bullied and bossed around by Kioko. She's also stubborn, and rude towards most. However, this is because her twin sister carried out her one dream... but more on that later. She is the brains behind 'The Someya Sisters', a pair that is known all around the world. Kioko has a soft spot for a few people, but you'd have to be extremely lucky. She wants to be number 1, which is why she refuses to let her sister go near anyone. She can get quite defensive of her, despite her bullying. She also has serious insecurities about her body. You'll hear some very vulgar language come from this one... the other students see her as a rude, foul-mouthed bully. Aka... the worse twin...
If you audition for Kioko... I want to see you be over the top dramatic.
And then there you were, the kindest, sweetest, most gentle person I’d ever known. You starved yourself for modelling… something that I forced you to do. Why would you do that? (Emotional and upset)

We’re the Someya Sisters! My name is Kioko Someya, the Ultimate Fashion Designer! (Sassy and proud)
Aito is outgoing and... bold. He looks to be intense and creepy, which is ironic because... he is actually playful, sassy, and.. kinky. However, he makes some very violent comments sometimes. Aito belongs to a business full of criminals, and does all the hacking, so Destiny Reach and the government scouted him because of his skills, in the hope that he'll learn to do better. Aito is very clingy, and will believe and support whoever he clings on to. He'll be kinda excited to see you when you come home... jumping on you... and probably licking you, not because he's a dog but because he has some strange kinks. Don't kink shame. Please.
Aito would have a voice leaning on the feminine end, while still holding that male aspect. However, whoever voices him will need to have a large vocal range in order to effectively voice all of his lines. He's a screamer.

Yeah! We all started bashing against the walls and stuff, but after we kept continuously getting warnings, Monoman popped out of nowhere with his controller! (Childish and confused)
It is difficult to describe such a... lengthy character without revealing spoilers. However, here's what we can tell you. This man WILL stroke you. Being the 'problematic' character out of the lot, Naozumi is strongly hated by most of the other students, give or take one or two. His disturbingly creepy nature gives off an aura that nobody wants to go close to. Ironically, he is the person you would go to to help solve your problems. Hm. When in one on one situations, he can sometimes keep calm and... get this, be normal, but as soon as he's confronted with too many people he will get 'nervous'. That's his excuse for his... disturbing behaviour. Believe him or not, it's completely your choice. However, he does have a valid reason for acting so strange... or does he? Huh? Did I say something? Find out for yourself. Naozumi is also into all sorts of torture and... stuff... but that doesn't necessarily make him a bad person. Or does it? You'll either find him an annoying and disturbing piece of shit, or you'll find sympathy in your heart for this tall, skinny, sickly male.
If you audition for Naozumi, be prepared for some interesting themes to voice. He's a disturbing character, so he would need a voice that can play that off well.

They gave either personal advice, or advice to the entire group. Take that on board, as they’ve been confronted with fear. Sometimes the strongest ones are the ones who have been through the most… (Inspirational but also somewhat depressed)
Daisuke is a guy that knows himself, and his place. However, not remembering his talent is what drives him off the walls. He likes knowing what's going on, and not knowing crucial information about himself makes him rather upset. He has zero tolerance for anyone that causes problems, and will overreact, sometimes resulting in violence. However, he has good intentions, he wants everyone to be safe and work together. In order to try and help himself remember his talent, he appoints himself as the unspoken leader of the group, often making plans and arrangements. He's quite sensible, but also very enthusiastic and strong willed. He's extremely passionate about his fellow classmates. He can handle difficult situations, but not difficult people. Sometimes his determination gets in the way, especially when he's motivated to stop someone causing havoc. This can sometimes cause other students to distrust him, but no more on that...
Daisuke would need a voice that can be very calm but can also get very very angry.

Masakazu is quite a shy, reserved, and hesitant type. He's very insecure about his talent, and thinks he's useless. He's quite sensible, but with some he can be slightly more 'jokey'. He can get overwhelmed quite easily by some, which is sad, because he tends to talk to the more overwhelming students. He doesn't like nicknames, which is why he strongly dislikes being called Masa by a couple of the other students. He can be quite passive too, often giving him, but when faced with difficult situations he can adapt with his sensibleness to try get everyone out if it. He doesn't hold grudges. He doesn't dislike anyone, but it's hard for him to like anyone too... even though his closest friend is the one that gives him the worst possible nickname...
If you audition for Masakazu, you would need to have a soft and neutral voice, but still be able to go over the top when needed.
My name is Masakazu Ozawa. It’s pretty lame… I’m… the Ultimate mattress Specialist. (Hesitant and a bit sad)
I can find the perfect mattress to help you get to sleep, for as long as you want. I also help invent the mattresses, so they’re super comfortable. (Disappointed)
You’re the only viable option, and your behavior now makes me think even more of that! (Shocked, matter-of-fact)
If you're less confident with voice acting or if you don't want to commit to a huge role, doing this role is highly recommended. There are a bunch of small characters that have barely any lines, so instead of making a bunch of roles, I've decided that if you audition here and use your own expression for how you vision the line to be, then I may select you to play the small role that best fits your voice. The audition lines are not all from the same character, I chose a variety to see how each auditioner would sound in each role. You may end up with multiple parts. If you would like more than one extra part, then I recommend using a different voice or verbal expression in each line, to ensure that no two voices sound the same. Some extra parts are bigger than others, but they're all important in one way or another.
