A Monkie Kid Visual Novel (Looking for Voice Actors)
Project Overview
What is this?
A visual novel- specifically a dating simulator, based on the animated series "Monkie Kid" by Flying Bark Productions and Lego. This visual novel is still in the works. We have gotten far into the writing aspect and are now looking for voice actors to help bring the story to life! We want to find people who can replicate the voice actor's voices, but are more than open to other interpretations of the character's voices!

Requirements:- You have to be 18 or older to participate in this project. This rule is in place to prevent any drama within or outside the group and to keep everyone safe. I will be doing background checks and I will not hesitate to kick out people who lie about their age. The visual novel will still be open for everyone.
- Please be respectful of others. I want this group to be a safe place/space for everyone where we as fans can come together to create something amazing! So, bullying in or outside of the group will not be tolerated. If any news of discrimination or harassment come up, you will be kicked off the team.
A few final notes:Voice Actors: Please make sure that you are in a quiet environment and are comfortable with being loud. I will be giving voice directions and the lines may call for things such as, yells, maniacal laughter, etc. and that will require you to be loud. Also, make sure that you do not have a ton of background noise as this is difficult to edit out and can block out your voice, diminishing the quality of your performance.
- I'm a huge fan of this franchise and I really want this project to reach all the other fans of this lovely franchise! Each role will have suggestions for how the voice should sound as I have a vision in mind on how it should sound, but you have the complete freedom to say the lines as you see fit! I am open to accepting suggestions and adapting to new views!

Voice Tips: MK has a very energetic and friendly tone to his voice. He tends to vocalize sounds and makes a lot of yelps and groans when in pain, nervous, excited, etc. Don't be scared of being too loud as MK is prone to being a very loud person.

Voice Tips: Monkey King/Sun Wukong has a light hearted, nonchalant, easy-going and confident tone to his voice. He has a slight rasp to his voice and, when in battle, uses a lot of vocalization. Don't be scared of overexaggerating or sounding too cartoonish as there are some lines that have a more fun delievery to them.

Voice Tips: Mei has a very loud, energetic tone to her voice. She is very expressive and her line deliveries are more animated than the rest of the crew. Don't be scared of being too animated as Mei's deliveries are more emotion-filled and leans in heavily towards the cartoonish aspect of voice acting.

Voice Tips: Red Son has a voice that can fluctuate, depending on the people he's talking to, what he does and what he's thinking. He is very prone to cackling, it being one of the things he is known for as well as his showmanship. Don't be scared of sounding dramatic or overextravagant because, as stated before, Red Son always has an air of showmanship in his voice.

Voice Tips: Tang has a semi-high pitched, steady, silvery tone to his voice. When ranting about his interests, his voice can pick up speed and sound more cartoonish. Don't be scared of being too loud when needing to express excitement, sounding a bit sarcastic or sounding too concentrated or focus as Tang is very composed, even in stressful situations.

Voice Tips: Macaque has a deep, husky, kind of disembodied tone to his voice. Macaque uses a lot of open vowels, his screams and grunts are more open/clear than that other characters, so do keep that in mind when doing takes. Don't be scared of making a lot of grunts and laughs. Macaque is one of the few characters who are very prone to grunting in a variety of situations. His laughs are also very prominent and slip into conversation naturally, sort of like second nature.

Voice Tips: Pigsy has a gruff, stern, barky and raucous tone to his voice. Pigsy has a strong tone to his voice, but his voice is able to flow from stern to calm and soft yet keep the strong tone behind his words. Don't be scared of being loud. Pigsy is known to be very loud, especially when angered. Also, don't be afraid of sounding rude, mean or a bit sarcastic. Whilst Pigsy is a good person, his tone is straightforward and can make him seem annoyed or angry.

Voice Tips: Young girl has a nervous tone to her voice. She is a positive and kind person, her voice should reflect that. An emotional voice would fit well and a breathy way of speaking, almost like a whisper. Don't be afraid of trying anything out of the description and do you own take!

Voice Tips: The tone should be similar to a caring mother telling a story to their child, think of a storybook narrator. A soft, breathy and sweet sounding voice would fit best. Don't be scared of being dramatic or sounding whimsical. The more exaggerated and magical the narration seems, the better. The last line is a more common line, no theatrics needed, just a mother speaking to her child.
