Midnight Cinderella Roleplay

The main character of this game is a tutor who goes to seek out a flower that one of her students requested for, She's a super polite, somewhat naive, but a good person that blushes a lot.

Alyn’s personality on a whole is quite gruff, serious and completely focused around keeping people safe. As a person, he holds a lot of respect in what people do, as opposed to what they say, which is one of his main traits which makes him such a good knight and captain of the Wysterian Royal Guard.

He is extremely brave and courageous, as shown when he has been awaiting battle and has stayed completely calm, composed and ready to do what he has to in order to protect Wysteria. His loyalty is extremely strong and evident in the way he speaks and acts, and he is also quite patriotic in that he has a lot of pride from coming from Wysteria. He will do anything and everything he can to protect his King and/or Queen, and the people of Wysteria, including his knights.

On a personal level, Alyn can at first be very abrupt and somewhat rude in his words, like when he blatantly asked the MC if she had put on weight while seeing how easily he could carry her. However, he is not really rude as such, more just straight-forward to the point of being slightly off-hand.

He can be quite snappy when he wants to, but he can also be very playful and light-hearted, in that he will often joke with the MC and tease her, or try to make her feel a bit better when she’s not sure of a decision etc. Additionally, he has a habit of flicking or tapping people on the forehead, as he often will with the MC but also has with Nico, a trait which he shares with Leo.

Giles' personality is extremely complex, and he has several different sides to him that are significantly well-guarded. First and foremost, he is well-composed, cool and calm, seeing as he is the King's Advisor and tutor to the Princess Elect. He maintains an air of elegant, majestic authority while still remaining polite and perfectly-mannered, at least when he's around the nobility or (for the most part) the other suitors. He will be often seen smiling and expresses emotion to a reasonable extent, but this is seen less as he moves further from the palace or when he is around unknown people.

Giles is notoriously strict and serious, but he is also quite light-hearted at times and will often tease those around him. He takes his job very seriously and expects others to do the same with their duties, and so he doesn't tolerate slacking off or laziness at all. He will often be harsh on those who do no reach his expectations, for example, when he forbid Leo from seeing the princess when he came to the palace with a hangover.

Despite this, he does have a playful side and will happily reward hard work. He can be extremely straightforward in his ways, both in words and actions; in his route, he pins the Princess Elect down in order to "demonstrate" to her the dangers of going out alone at night. This is not to say, though, that he is inherently "bad"; he's shown to be extremely conscientious of the well-being of those around him, and he will usually realise quite quickly if the princess is becoming ill or pushing herself too hard.

When he's in his less serious mode, he is, as said perfectly on his character card, "seductive". He's an extreme tease and flirt, and has very little shame in making comments toward the MC about things like marriage, sex (as seen in nearly all of the other suitors' routes) and things like anatomy. He will often make remarks, although still flattering, about the expressions she has and how beautiful she looks.

While Giles is always impeccably polite, even to nobles who question him or people from other nations that can't be trusted, he is constantly on-guard actually doesn't seem to trust many people at all, which can be attributed to his occupation as well as his past. He's very loyal to the crown and monarchy, and has shown that he's more than willing to lay down his life in service of it, as well as Wysteria; he's extremely proud and respectful of his country, and always wishes the best for Wysteria, but still hopes for peace and democratic relations with other friendly nations.

(Bottom Line: Cool, collected but like lowkey arrogant.)

He is undeniably elegant and awfully cold. The player first meets Louis in the Palace garden where, prior to becoming the Princess Elect, you are searching for a legendary magical flower that can grant any wish. Louis mocks you for believing the legend and tells you to leave before causing any more trouble. 

He tends to keep his thoughts to himself and bears a tsundere nature, meaning he is initially cold and distant but gradually reveals a much warmer side of himself.

In truth, Louis' cold demeanour is due to his distaste for the upper-class lifestyle that was thrust upon him. He rebuffs the player initially but is secretly impressed by how you bear up under the pressures of being the Princess Elect. Louis greatly admires the strength and earnestness of the player, which he states is one of the reasons he falls for you.

As he was not born a nobleman, he often harbours the desire to leave his position as duke and wonders how the player, having also been born a commoner, can deal with the responsibilities of being Princess Elect without wanting to go back to being just a commoner.

This, however, is only a defensive façade that he uses to protect himself and fit in with the other aristocrats. Once he realises that he has someone whom he cares for, Louis is very protective and loving, the complete opposite of how he was initially.

Once he is more trusting of someone, he immediately becomes more gentle in his manner, in both the words he speaks and the way he says them. When around people he’s comfortable, Louis will sometimes smile, will be more inclined to humour and teasing others. He has shown himself to be quite supportive and friendly to those he favours, like when he’s assisted the MC with her situations in several other suitors’ routes, despite him having to accept the position of Prince Consort even when he hasn’t wanted to.

When he’s with the MC, Louis has a much more playful, softer side of him that comes out to play quickly. He’ll often tease to no end with her, but he’s also exceptionally sweet and honest, such as with things like the MC’s body and personality.

While he’s usually passive with others and, when the MC and Louis are friends, is quite uninterested in most things around him, when he’s with the MC, he becomes somewhat possessive and almost child-like in his manner. He can become aggressive quite quickly, especially when the MC is criticised or Sid’s around, and more so when the latter says something to provoke him.

He has a flirtatious attitude to match his charisma. Nonetheless, this palace playboy has a serious side to him.

Leo is a character who seems to wander off and do his own thing. He also has a tendency to tease and agitate others on purpose, which can be seen especially with Alyn. Leo tends to drop hints around the Princess Elect, insinuating that he knows more than he lets on. 

Behind his facetious exterior, Leo can be clever and cunning. His ability to discern situations and work them around his favour points towards his high level of intelligence. His experience with politics along with his astuteness makes him the second-best person to tutor the Princess Elect, behind Giles. 

Leo's personality is full of conflicts and contrasts that make him a rather complicated individual. He has two main sides to him: the one he shows everyone, which is for the most part acted, and the second, which he only allows the Princess Elect and Alyn to see. His personality in itself is best described as playful and teasing; he loves to tease and taunt people, particularly the Princess Elect, Alyn and Giles. He's extremely flirtatious, being extremely charismatic and socially adept, although in reality, he doesn't overly love the constant attention he gets from bureaucrats around the palace as a result of his charming personality.

(I'm gonna be really biased with this character, just a heads-up)

Byron is a stern man who spends most of his time in his study. He rarely shows emotions and finds it hard to read the princess's emotions because they change constantly, although he comes to enjoy studying her for this very reason.

Rumours of his restrained nature strike a curious contrast with his popularity among the common-folks as a leader of profound character.

Byron is, outwardly, quite emotionless and extremely well-composed due to his upbringing. He’s able to keep his cool in most situations and very rarely displays much emotion to others, especially when away from Stein Castle. Inside known territory, he becomes more relaxed and will smile every now and again, although this again is rare and only happens more when he’s entertained by something or with the Princess Elect; Albert himself said that Byron has been taciturn from childhood, and Robert noted his emotionless tendencies even when he was very young and being escorted inside Stein Castle by the bureaucrats.

Because of his seemingly quite strictly monitored childhood and the way he was brought up (to have abilities such as controlling people’s emotions, which he tells the Princess Elect about), Byron struggles with emotion, certainly very much so at the start of his route. Over time, he seems to quickly develop said emotions and learn to understand them better, although in all routes he shows compassion and a very fair sense of judgement.

He is also extremely loyal to and cares very much about Stein and his people; other than in the latter half of his route, he doesn’t separate himself from his country and doesn’t distinguish his needs from that of Stein. While he does what he can to maintain peaceful resolutions to problems, most likely due to his father’s past, he has shown himself to be capable of killing or allowing a war to start should it be necessary and should no alternative option be available.

When he becomes more comfortable around the Princess Elect and is with her, he shows a much more playful side of him that’s not seen anywhere else, and he can be quite mischievous, teasing and light-hearted when in this frame of mind. Along with this, he seems to become more relaxed and less serious when he takes his eye-patch off, most likely due to an association of duty he has made with it.

(Bottom Line: Regal and lowkey flirtatious king.)

Nico is, for the most part, described as very "bright", "bubbly" and "cheerful". He is known to be extremely enthusiastic and bouncy and usually goes about his day with a smile. He often makes jokes and loves to tease the Princess Elect, both in his route and other characters' routes.

He's also very creative and will often be the one to come up with a "great idea", which will sometimes be slightly unorthodox but will work nonetheless. Nico has an extremely supportive and kind personality, for the most part, the latter point being elaborated below. He’ll often give help and advice not only to the MC but to the other suitors when they need it; he's extremely helpful and reliable as the Princess Elect's butler.

He’s sensitive to other people’s emotions and reads the atmosphere extremely quickly and accurately, meaning that he’ll often take hints from those around him with ease. As such, he’s just as sharp as Leo when it comes to sensing that someone’s upset or struggling with something, and he is also able to pick up on when Giles is unwell.

(Bottom Line: He's a softboi who is also a spy)

Sid typically goes straight for what he wants and enjoys playing head games with the player. While appearing suave and disinterested on the outside, he surprisingly praises openness and honesty and finds those qualities endearing. Though it takes him a little while to realise his feelings for the player, once he does, he is open and accepting of them.

Unlike the majority of the other characters, Sid has no inherited noble rank, but he does not let that stop him from acting as if he were in charge. He will have a noble rank, however, by technicality, being the adopted son of Archduke Grandier and, to the world, his legitimate son. Once the Archduke dies, it will make him a duke.

He goes out of his way to get on Louis' nerves and comes and goes to and from Wysteria Palace as he pleases because Giles buys information from him.

Sid is notorious in personality for, essentially, being rude. On the surface, his personality is cocky, arrogant, overly confident and proud. He will tease anyone and anything he possibly can, sometimes harmlessly, and sometimes to the point of causing serious damage to others. He can be quite vulgar and speaks inappropriately at times, and can be completely shameless when it comes to things like sex and relationships. His manner of speaking is, for the most part, quite tactless and brutally honest, which can sometimes be good and sometimes be bad, or borderline dangerous when he does so with the likes of Byron or bureaucrats.

While Sid does, in fact, have a fiancée, he doesn’t care much for this fact. However, that does not mean he’s unreliable or untrustworthy; before he meets the Princess Elect, he does indicate that he has casual affairs with people and doesn’t commit to anyone, but once he begins a relationship with her, it’s clear that he’s fiercely loyal to her and isn’t interested in anyone else.

This applies to much of his personality; until he commits himself entirely, he doesn’t expect people to expect much from him, but once he makes his choice and sticks with it, he won’t let it go and will cease any questionable behaviour.

He does have a sweeter, softer side. He has no problem with and encourages the Princess Elect to be open and honest with him, and to come to him for support if she needs it at any time. He doesn’t mind comforting her when she’s upset, and will do anything and everything possible to protect her, as well as anyone else he cares about. He is a protective person and will even hurt himself in order to do what he thinks is best for someone else, and in this way is extremely selfless.

In less extreme situations, he can still be just as compassionate and considerate, as shown when the Princess Elect asks her to be gentle with her “in bed” when she’s ill, and he makes sure to be careful with her, becoming very sweet and caring despite how rough and passionate he normally is.

He also loves teasing Louis, as well as the Princess Elect, and revels in the former’s discomfort when around him. However, he teases Louis primarily to ensure that the latter hasn't shut off his emotions entirely, like he often would as a child to cope with the brutality of the nobility around him. This further shows Sid's kind nature.

He visits pubs frequently and enjoys alcohol, as well as card games like poker, something he usually utilises to see if he’ll let people ask him for information.

Albert has a very blunt and straightforward way of speaking. When addressing the main character, he tends to speak with as little words as possible.

Albert dislikes the Princess Elect, which can be seen with how he interacts with them. The reason behind this attitude stems from his opinion about the Princess System in Wysteria. He believes that people born into nobility are the only ones qualified to be in that position because they understand the world of nobles. He views those who are civilians are not qualified to become Princess Elect since they do not possess experience from being in nobility.  

Additionally, Albert is quite untrusting of other nations, particularly Wysteria at first in Byron’s route due to the lack of diplomatic relations between the two countries. He is quick to act and almost impulsive if he deems himself, Byron or his knights to be threatened, and is actually not as level-headed as he puts across because of his extreme loyalty.

Even though he is to some degree cold toward the Princess Elect, although he attempts to remain cool and controlled around the her, he tends to sometimes lose this composure and become a bit more flustered or embarrassed in her presence. When he’s with her, though, he will have moments of becoming more vocal and expressive of his feelings, being more open and honest.  

Despite his rough way of acting, he has a deep sense of loyalty towards King Byron and holds him in the highest esteem. Albert does not outwardly get along with Nico, and he will often display anger or irritation when around or speaking to him, but also has moments of being quite playful with him, often agreeing to partake in little competitions with him or duelling together.

Albert also appears to have a habit of avoiding people's gaze or looking away from them when flustered or embarrassed.

Although Albert isn’t the most expressive of people and speaks in a monotone voice most of the time, he does display a considerable amount of emotion and is a bit less controlled in that respect. Albert tends to act respectably toward Byron, but is closer to him than anyone else, and so is more open and honest with him. He knows he can speak his mind to Byron, although most of the time he'll try to keep his personal problems to himself to avoid causing trouble, such as when he told Byron that he’s taciturn and has been since he was a child.

(Bottom Line: Loyal and straightforward.)

Robert is unusually interested in the King of Stein, Byron Wagner. He even has a paintbrush with a Stein crest on top.

Robert’s personality is severely split in two as a result of his past (explained below). On a day-to-day basis, he is kind, caring, extremely supportive and tender in his mannerisms. He’s always prepared to help anyone if they need it, often acting as the go-to for advice in the palace, even though he doesn’t always appreciate this; at one point, he asks himself why he is “always the shoulder to cry on”. There are times, though, when he is genuinely happy to help the likes of the MC, and he only wishes for her to be happy, as well as Byron.

At the same time, Robert has a much darker, much less innocent side of him. He can be, when he’s in a bad mood or is confronted about his past, cold, defensive, surprisingly harsh and with some people aggressive. When he was younger, he was rather careless and wasn't very conscious of other people's feelings, or chose not to let them affect his decisions, as a result of his upbringing. In later life, though, he has matured and become much more considerate, although he at times can be bitter and dark.

When thinking about his past, he will often be sorrowful and stricken with guilt, but he will also berate himself and speak of himself lowly, being sarcastic or insulting. He thinks badly of himself for everything that he’s done but struggles to fully face and confront his actions, and so spends more time running away from it instead.

Now, as a result of everything that’s happened, Robert is very driven to do as little damage to others as he can and to atone for things he’s done, and this is why he is so willing to help others. He wants to protect people and help them more than anything to distance himself from the man he used to be. While he takes a while to open up with the MC fully, once he does, he’s very honest with his feelings and admits to the things he’s done and felt. Despite his reserved nature, once he is with the MC, he’s quite verbally expressive about his feelings, and will often display his affection through small touches or occasional gifts.
