Melty Blood: Type Lumina (English Fandub)

Project Overview

What's going on, everyone? I like to welcome to you all to my latest fandub casting call of Melty Blood: Type Lumina. This game is based off Type Moon's visual novel Tsukihime: A Piece of Blue Glass Moon.

There are currently a total of 19 characters. With additional characters on the way real soon. So stay tuned for updates.

For this casting call, you'll be performing some of the fighters’ victory quote lines throughout the game. You can audition for as many characters as you want. But make sure that they suit your voice style. And follow the instructions shown on the descriptions.

There’s no English dub for this game. So I will be providing voice clip examples for each character to help you know the characters' voice tone, pitch, and more. Also, voice demos are also acceptable.

Also, make sure to have your Discord info displayed on your audition, so I can add you on there when the time comes. Finally, I have a few reminders for y'all.

1. I will only accept high quality auditions. So make sure your files are nice, fresh, and clean before you submit your work.

2. Please read the descriptions of each character carefully. Some might have more details than others.

3. Before you audition for any character(s), make sure to listen to the voice clip examples on the their description first. So you'll get an idea on the voice range and tone.

4. Since the game was never dubbed, you'll have to throw in your own unique style for the character voices. Follow step 3 first, and be creative with it.

5. Some characters may have multiple versions of themselves. So if you audition for a particular character that follows this category, then you'll have to do them as well. Examples: Arcueid & Red Arcueid, Noel & Dead Apostle Noel, and Ciel & Powered Ciel.

6. Have fun!

Hope y’all enjoy the casting call! Good luck and give it your best shot!

Shiki is the eldest son of the historical Tohno family, he was raised for some time by the Arima branch family. However, he was called back to Souya to live in the Tohno estate shortly after his father passed away. A childhood injury left him with the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception, giving him the ability to see the death of all things in the form of lines and points. He wears special glasses which prevent his eyes from seeing these things all the time. He may be an ordinary student, but his ability to visualize death has altered his very perception of it. The aftereffects of his accident, combined with the toll his eyes take, has left him with chronic anemia. During battle, he removes his glasses to use his Mystic Eyes of Death Perception.

Shiki is an amicable individual and a normal high school student most of the time. Due to his close brush with death, he is not overly concerned about dying, and instead seeks to cherish every moment of his life - 'just living is enough' is his perspective on life. He has a remarkable amount of empathy, not having much of a problem placing himself in the shoes of others, such as when he empathized and felt regret for the life and eventual fate his adoptive brother, SHIKI suffered. He is also very forgiving, examples of this include the time he forgave Ciel for attempting to kill him and seemingly manipulating him and also towards Arcueid who attempted to harm Shiki and drink his blood. Because he sees death due to his Mystic Eyes of Death Perception, Shiki values living and experiencing it. Many of Shiki's values were taught to him by his Teacher, Aoko Aozaki.

He has a darker side, that of his bloodline's, the Nanaya. The instincts and skills he had learned at a young age are buried deep within Shiki and have proven capable of manifesting themselves in dire situations, such as in his battle against Vlov Arkhangel. Although not on the level of an alternate personality, the Nanaya side of Shiki is the highly trained killer within him and thus is much colder. Only once has his Nanaya side surfaced in a similar way to that of an alternate personality, and that was under great stress and a very difficult situation for Shiki. The other times, Shiki is merely filled with a desire to kill, and instinctual knowledge on how to do it. Due to the murderous impulses he was born with Shiki's behavior can change from being friendly and kind to someone who follows his libidinal drive, want for violence and lust for killing, this only happens when he comes into contact with supernatural beings.

* Note: If you audition for this character, you must also do Red Arcueid. For they are the same character.

Arcueid is a royal member of the vampire race known as the True Ancestors. After suffering through a traumatic event, a naively innocent side of her was somehow released. She now lives as a free-spirited, almost childish, princess. She is incredibly powerful and, despite being a vampire, is able to survive in direct sunlight. She has no desire to threaten human society, instead hunting other vampires known as Dead Apostles. While pursuing her greatest enemy, she arrives in Souya, where Shiki lives. Although a fateful encounter awaits her and Shiki here, a story of an earlier possibility is about to unfold.

Not the best person to have as an ally and the absolute worst to have as an enemy. This princess is a killer machine who never experienced anything other than fighting and doesn't care for "useless" matters. Or rather, was. That said, the total time she's been active is less than a year. She's a genuine bloodsucker who came to Souya town in pursuit of the vampire Roa. An invigorating heroine with looks and a personality unbecoming of a vampire, who gets killed by the protagonist in her introduction scene. She gets interested in Shiki's murder skills and asks him for his help. She has no desire to threaten human society, instead hunting other vampires known as Dead Apostles.

After suffering through a traumatic experience, a naively innocent side of her was somehow released. She now lives as a free-spirited, almost childish princess. She's Chaotic Good. Introverted (extroverted when it comes to Shiki), cheerful, and active. Since her appearance is stuck in a late teens form, her mental age is also not matured. Not caring about details is in her personality. She got happy-go-lucky ever since Shiki killed her, but she still has her vast knowledge and dry humor (her logical nature as a True Ancestor), resulting in an unbalanced personality, carefree yet intellectual.

One year younger than her brother Shiki, she arranged for his return from the Arima family. Her flawless etiquette and bearing perfectly epitomize the daughter of a noble house. * Note: If you audition for this character, you must also do Powered Ciel. For they are the same character.

The Holy Church, a major religion in Europe, does not take kindly to heresy. Ciel works as an executor for its specialized force known as the Burial Agency. Her calling? Hunting and destroying heretics in the name of the Lord. Like Arcueid, she wishes to destroy her mortal enemy and has come to Souya in search of him, deciding to blend in by posing as a regular student at the same high school as Shiki. She currently attends school as a senior, one year above Shiki, and is quite popular with many of the students there. They see her as both warm and cheerful. Her go-to lunch from the school shop is curry bread, and her favorite restaurant serves the best curry in town.

She's poses as upperclassman in Shiki's school but is actually a Holy Church Executor who came to Souya after Roa. The people of the Church call her by the pejorative name Quinze. Although she explains their secrets to Shiki as he gets involved in the situation, the mystery woman doesn't tell him a thing about herself. She's Lawful Good. Extroverted, timid, and active. Ciel has a generally quiet and caring personality. However she's also nosy and curious, and can't leave lazy or depressed people alone.

The character whose personality best fits the big sister archetype. She takes cares of people and does anything they ask. She's satisfied with her class representative-like position... but, things get different if she grows affectionate to the person she's helping. Her teasing can get mean-spirited. Maybe she just likes troubling her loved ones.

However, that's all just the base Ciel. She uses a different persona as an Executor, so she can become a cold-blooded machine to fulfill her objectives if necessary.

Kouma is the head of the Kishima clan, a branch of the Tohno family. He is half demon. Even among mixed-bloods, his demon blood is strong, making him only barely human. Usually very quiet, he chooses to live as a hermit in a remote area of the mountains where he seeks to achieve spiritual enlightenment. Because of this, he often speaks of worldly ties and spirituality. His demeanor in battle, however, reflects his innate strength and demon blood. His ability to use Scorching Heat means those in his way are often burned to ash.

Miyako is the eldest daughter of the Arima branch family, which took Shiki in as a child. Currently in the fifth grade, she sees herself as Shiki's other sister. She learned bajiquan by observing others in her family's dojo, though it now sits unused. Although she was nowhere near the skill of a true martial artist, her abilities quickly flourish in the ensuing battles. Her destructive powers make it hard to believe she is only 11 years old.

Her feelings are easy to see as she always wears her heart on her sleeve. She unabashedly adores her kind, quiet older "brother", but whenever he is near, she becomes so nervous she can barely speak. This continued for many years until Shiki was suddenly called back in the Tohno family, and Miyako did not take the news well.

Though she and Akiha are more of distant cousins in terms of familial relations with each other, Type Lumina has Neco-Arc refer to Akiha as "Miyako's stepsister" in her Boss Rush story, implying that Miyako sees Akiha as her "older sister" by virtue of Akiha being Shiki's actual younger sister. Of course, thanks to that, this also means that she sees Akiha as her biggest competitor when it comes to getting her "big brother's" affection.

* Note: If you audition for this character, you must also do Dead Apostle Noel. For they are the same character.

Noel is an Executor of the Holy Church posing as a teacher at Metropolitan Souya High School. She recently transferred to Shiki's school as a new teacher. She metes out judgment to all blasphemers as an executor for the Holy Church. She may not have the battle experience Ciel does, but she's prepared to fight. Whenever faced with a weak opponent, she shows no mercy, claiming to be “weak against the strong, but overwhelmingly strong against the weak”.

Noel gives off a friendly impression from her cheerful expressions and is quite flirtatious, especially with Shiki and others who are younger than she is. At school, she exists exploits her appeal as an older woman to gain popularity with the boys. The girls, however, don’t seem to like her. Judging the way she idolizes love and marriage, it’s safe to say she doesn’t have much luck with either.

Noel desires to return to her life as a “normal” woman, and makes an effort to appear as one while undercover as a teacher for her own happiness. Even when working as an Executor, she tries to act like an ordinary woman, doing her hair and nails in a fashionable way before hunting vampires and putting small decorations on her polearm weapon. She frequently takes breaks from her work to do things like taking a drink from a vending machine, something Ciel looks down on. Mario Gallo Bestino describes her as an ordinary person with bad luck who is half-hearted at both being an Executor and a normal person.

However, her friendly and cheerful demeanor belies her cowardice and twisted pleasure in inflicting pain on anyone she considers to be weaker than herself, both humans and vampires. While her darker tendencies are not immediately apparent, her fear and paranoia about becoming a Dead Apostle herself after Vlov Arkhangel bites her in Ciel's route leads her to commit various erratic and sadistic acts towards vampires in hopes of somehow finding "redemption". These range from luring newly-turned vampires to a warehouse promising them a cure for vampirism before slaughtering them in droves, to simple cold-blooded torture. She uses sacraments to re-awaken the ability for her undead victims to feel pain just to make her torture more horrific for them, and smiles maniacally while they cry out in suffering.

Roa is a vampire known as the "Serpent of Akasha" or the "Infinite Reincarnator." Former priest of the Holy Church. He can manipulate information and electricity at will. The story of Roa appearing in Souya that came to him predicts the possibilities he might have had following a chance encounter with Arcueid and Shiki.

He loved people, not as humans, but as a collective, and so resolved to record their deeds. One day, he realized he lacked the time to record everything, his life too short to satisfy his need to learn and know everything. The more he continued his work, the more his despair grew. As a result, he decided he needed to become eternal by becoming a vampire. The reason why he chose to reincarnate endlessly is not that he sought power, but simply to continue being, until the world comes to a close. When Shiki asks "if the world is infinitely expanding, surely the priest's goals are misplaced?" Roa replies that "humans were placed in the universe to define it, if not, why where they given intelligence?"

At some point his objective changed. He who had sought eternity for the sake of completeness, had his purity robbed of him. He saw the "Princess", believing it was all her fault. He wanted to continue living, not as an observer, but as someone a part of the events. But those pure feelings were all washed away in face of her.

Vlov is the nineteenth of the Twenty-Seven Dead Apostle Ancestors. For some reason, this Dead Apostle from the frozen lands of the far north has arrived in the city of Souya. Vlov is already starved of warmth and must feed on blood for heat, which he can then consume in order to create flames. In battle, he can switch from Flame Mode to Ice Mode when in danger. In this mode, Vlov’s abilities expand exponentially, granting him nearly unrivaled strength.

Vlov is at his core a proud and loyal knight, who enjoys the idea of a good duel with a strong opponent. Despite this enjoyment, he is quite tactical and observant, being able to easily discern that Arcueid’s action of raising a wave of rubble was meant to hide Shiki Tohno’s follow up surprise attack, and quickly recognizing that Ciel’s style of swordsmanship was taught to her by the Dead Apostole Ancestor Be’ze.His battle instincts are also quite good, as he was even able to instinctually determine that Shiki somehow possesses the ability to kill him, despite having no information on the teenager. Despite his cool-headed nature, Vlov is extremely protective of his personal life and his secrets and revealing them in any way can cause him to fly into a rage and make unwise tactical decisions.

He has ten wives provided to him by Zaria, whom he seemingly cares deeply for. In Akiha's story within Melty Blood: Type Lumina, he tries to get her to be his eleventh wife, but she refuses by the polygamous relationship alone.

Despite his rational personality, he is often seen behaving in a strange manner, as if he was in a sleepwalking trance, mixed with moments of extreme desire to feed on large quantities of humans. This is seemingly a coping mechanism to deal with his own Principle and as Arcueid puts it, he is not naturally insane, but rather, he is running away from his own sanity on purpose so that his mind isn't overhwelmed by his Principle. He will seemingly only snap out of this state if enough of his power is expended or if he is injured enough.

Vlov absolutely hates Roa for seemingly stealing away the past 200 years away from him, due to how he convinced him to kill his liege Zaria and lying to him about how True Ancestor's blood would save his life, with him wanting to get to Arcueid partly as a way to get revenge to Roa.

Real name: Artoria Pendragon. One of the main characters of Fate/Zero and one of the main three heroines of Fate/Stay Night. A knight with braided blonde hair, shining blue and silver armor, and a somewhat cold attitude. She is well-known from the legends of King Arthur, wielder of the holy sword Excalibur who founded the Knights of the Round Table. Somehow, she has appeared in this world without the use of a summoning ritual. She now searches Souya for answers to this mystery.

Artoria is a strong-willed young woman who usually speaks truthfully but will lie if necessary. She is courageous, determined, and set on winning the Holy Grail. She constantly insists that she is a knight and king above all, and that her gender is of little importance to her and her role. She is resolute in following her own morals, regardless of the more viable, yet underhand, tactics being available. Artoria prefers direct, fair confrontations based upon codes of chivalry. Not even her hunger for the Holy Grail can make her abandon her code of honor. This leads to regular conflicts with Kiritsugu over strategy within the Fourth Holy Grail War. While obtaining the Grail is of the utmost importance, rejecting her chivalry is something she will never do, even if it should put her at a disadvantage. If such came to pass, she would require her Master to use a Command Spell as recompense for treading upon her heart. A Master tends to do well with Artoria when they respect her rules, such as Irisviel being closer to her than her true Master, Kiritsugu.

She believes loyalty and respect should be shared between Master and Servant. Thus when a Servant kills their Master, Artoria is enraged to the point she may kill as punishment. If a Servant dies protecting their Master, she protects their sacrifice from ridicule, believing they died honorably. She also expects Heroic Spirit to be treated with respect, displaying utter rage and disgust when Zouken Matou turns Medea’s corpse into a puppet or when Shinji electrocutes Rider as punishment for losing in battle to Artoria herself. If a situation looks dire, Artoria will not hesitant to sacrifice herself to ensure her Master and companions can escape.

  • "So this is the power vampire blood holds. It's called "ether", right? Being able to materialize whatever you want is great and all, but it kind of sucks being limited by the form your soul takes."

  • "Huh? That's weird... I thought you were supposed to be practically invincible? It shouldn't take you any time at all to regenerate from something like this. Hurry up and get back on your feet so I can kill you again!"

Aoko is one of only five magicians who exist in the world. Successor to the Fifth Magician. Overall, she is not considered a skilled magician. However, when it comes to "destructive" power, she is unrivaled in her talents. The sight of her raining down bullets like hot geysers has also given her the direct, yet rather tasteless nickname, "Magic Gunner". Who she learned it from is unknown, but she is also familiar with martial arts, and has a battle style that could be considered a hybrid of those martial arts and magic. She encountered Shiki on her travels. She gives him his glasses that suppress his Mystic Eyes, and teaches him the value of living things and how to handle things. For that reason, Shiki respects her and calls her his teacher. She's a difficult person to pin down. She believes in justice, is unreliable, and a vagabond.

Aloof and clumsy, yet free spirited, somehow managing to come together in this magician. She takes her life as a mage simply, while loving her life as a respectable, strong young woman. By day she is a boarding schooler, a genius who doesn't seem to realise things that are perfectly natural. She seems like a stoic person but she actually has many different facial expressions. She seems like a flawless superwoman but she is actually the hard-working type. She is described to be an extremely strong person in terms of personality, regretting nothing in her life because she follows through on every decision she makes. Because she does not care at all about what other people think of her, she is able to stay true to herself in any situation, believing that the worst thing a person can do is to lie to oneself. Even while accepting her life as a magus, she stubbornly sticks to the life of an honest person.

She is shown to have a bright, cheerful personality and yet appears to be very wise in Tsukihime. At that time, she seemed to be an amiable older-sister type, but generally her stance is to avoid getting too involved with other people. Aoko values special places with precious memories and living things, regardless of if they are humans, animals or even plants. She has passed on the "value of life" to Shiki Tohno. It was due to her influence that the young Shiki was able to grow up normally despite being burdened with abnormal eyes. She's a difficult person to pin down, believes in justice, and is often unreliable.

  • "That's all for today's lesson! I realize I'm not one to talk, but you really need to work on reining in your power a little more."

  • "Don't try to make excuses. You picked the wrong person to mess with, that's all there is to it. And against opponents like you, I know I don't have to hold back."

* Note: Ladies, you are allowed to audition for this character.

Mario is an Acting Prelate of the Holy Church. A pretty boy with blonde hair and fair skin, Mario tends to dress casually. Although he may not appear so, he holds a position of great responsibility while still in his early teens. He detests the inept and indolent, and often lashes out verbally, but he is also a compassionate, dutiful person at his core. His talents in assessing character and abilities, his skillful balancing of hard and soft power, his leadership and ability to use resources to control the game, and his fighting style using a Piano Machine to control nuns like marionettes, have all earned him the nickname "Mario the Puppeteer."

A pretty boy with a sadistic personality. Although he may not appear so, he holds a position of great responsibility while still in his early teens. He detests the inept and indolent, and often lashes out verbally, but he is also a compassionate, dutiful person at his core. Mario enjoys flexing his authority and causing trouble, only relenting when he knows he’s bitten off more than he can chew. While officially working to coordinate the Church's Executors in dealing with the vampire problem that has arisen in Souya, he has the ulterior motivation of acquiring Roa’s research on immortality in order to extend the life of his grandfather. He is willing to betray the Church’s mission of eliminating Roa in pursuit of this research, offering to spare Roa’s life until he can obtain the information, and intending to keep his current incarnation alive long enough to interrogate him.

He shows a strong dislike for an older brother of his who Ciel rescued in the past. When Shiki asks about whether this sibling is genuinely his brother, he replies that it would be smart for him to leave things unsaid.

He has a low opinion of Noel, viewing her erratic behavior with suspicion and half-jokingly threatening to have her executed for disobeying him. He considers her completely incompetent as an ordinary person in over her head. Yuugo Ando speculates that he has some interest in her despite his dislike, since he rarely pays any attention to the individual character of ordinary Executors. When he discovers her actions brutally torturing young and starving vampires and even a human who was associating with them solely to vent her stress in Ciel's route, he is disgusted by her sadism.

* Note: If you audition for this character, you must also do Ciel. For they are the same character.

Ciel, outfitted to face Dead Apostles of the Twenty-Seven Ancestors class, using the conceptual weapon "Seventh Holy Scripture" broken down into individual causes of death. She makes constant use of the "Seventh Holy Scripture," a millennium-class holy relic. While it drains an enormous amount of magical energy, it is a viable battle style for Ciel, who has the magical power of a hundred magi. Her main attacks often use weaponry, in the style of "Blaze," "Blade," and "Break," and her heavy armament features both brute force and magical enhancements. Perhaps due to her specialization in destroying heretics, she is even more cold and unforgiving than usual. With the incredble firepower of the Seventh Holy Scripture and Idea Blood, Ciel is unrelenting, destroying her enemies down to their very souls.

Neco-Arc is a mysterious creature that is a cat, yet also is not. She looks a bit similar to Arcueid, but no one knows if she has any connection to the real Arcueid.

She sometimes appears in the mortal world as a sort of personal pastime. She doesn't get along with Miyako's spirit realm, claiming she views it with rivalry, and vanished with the unsettling words "The Cat Strikes Back!"

But none of that has any bearing on the current situation. Now, she has appeared on the fighting stage again in an invasion of the Melty Blood universe, accompanied by powerful characters from parallel worlds, drawn inevitably by her destiny.

A playful cat that abides by no rules, regardless of what anyone has to say about it. Souya's destiny, and that of the entire Melty Blood universe...

Compared to the original Neco-Arc, her morals have been updated from the Jurassic period to the Permian.

Mash is a girl summoned from a parallel world. A member of the Organization for the Preservation of Human Order, Finis Chaldea, Mash is a being known as a demi-Servant: a successful fusion of a human body with a Heroic Spirit. Her Servant Class is Shielder. Her role is to jump to the point in spacetime of a problem in human history and resolve it, using the technology known as Rayshift.

Her hairstyle covering one eye is a key part of her fashion style, she also has a cute face, forthright personality, and honest, trusting character. Mash has learned about concepts like good and evil, and the purpose and significance of human life over the journey toward restoring her humanity.

In combat, she is excellent on defense and agile, using an immense shield much larger than she is. She also has strikes and throws using her shield, as well as techniques like kicks that launch her entire body from her shield.

In this title, an error of unknown origins during Rayshifting brings her to an unintended destination, into a nest of mysterious creatures in a world she knows nothing about.

Mash is a mysterious, kind-hearted girl. She refers to Ritsuka Fujimaru as her senior even before Ritsuka becomes her Master, feeling that something about them is especially easy to relate to. However, that smile belies a deep sorrow and resolve that has accepted her fate as a person with a set life-span since day one. As she has spent nearly all of her life in an isolation chamber within Chaldea, she is somewhat naïve and lacking in worldly experience. Despite this, she knows about a wide variety of subjects due to her education via Sheba, and she is especially knowledgeable about historical figures. Mash was initially designed to have no personality whatsoever in order to facilitate the Demi-Servant creation process, but Roman encouraged her to begin expressing her own opinions, allowing her to begin forming a sense of self.

Mash often fears that her Demi-Servant state makes her inferior to true Servants, and until she learned how to use her Noble Phantasm she thought herself to be all but useless to Ritsuka. Even before her Demi-Servant abilities manifested, she was devoted to the cause of Chaldea and sought to assist it however she can; when she is unable to participate in battle, she keeps a close eye on Ritsuka as a navigator. She does her best to hide her fear when in battle, and prioritizes keeping Ritsuka safe above all else. It has been hinted that she possess romantic and sexual feelings for Ritsuka as she is often seen blushing when compared as a couple with them. However, her naivety means that she does not yet realize what those feelings are.

Mash is a big fan of detective stories, especially Sherlock Holmes.

Ushiwakamaru is a Servant who was summoned by Ritsuka Fujimaru in the Grand Orders of Fate/Grand Order. The youthful form of the swordswoman who later stunned the world as Minamoto-no-Yoshitsune. Her Servant Class is Rider. Training to become a samurai at a young age, she met the onmyoji Kiichi Hougen and was granted the arts of war. With the arts of war added to her natural physical abilities and skill with the blade, she grew into a peerless warrior. However, this caused her elder brother, Minamoto-no-Yoritomo, to distrust her and her life came to a tragic end alongside her retainer Benkei. In battle, Ushiwakamaru dashes about with few restrictions, making dazzling use of her versatility. However, in some situations she is prone to saying "it all ends if the enemy general falls," forcing her Master and Mash to dash after her. Upon being summoned from the Throne of Heroes, she saw not Chaldea, but the Japan of the 21st century. It is the opening of a new chapter of The Wandering Tale of Shana-oh.

Ushiwakamaru is a genius swordsman that wholeheartedly adores her older brother, Minamoto no Yoritomo. She respected him as a samurai and loved him for being her brother. Although she tries not to be boastful, she says that he was the most exemplary older brother in the world.

Ushiwakamaru likes to have fun. When she was a child, she was rather mischievous since she spent her days playing pranks on adults as a hobby and causing trouble for the monks, all while laughing out loud. Though she is not like that any more as she conducts herself properly to the best of her ability.

For some reason, Ushiwakamaru has some level of acrophobia as she hates high places and never wants to be anywhere high.

She was constantly persecuted by those around her in life due to her exceedingly great talent. While there is no doubt that she was an excellent tactician, Yoshitsune lacked something vital. That is fear towards the battlefield; she never thought battles were frightening. All throughout life, she was incompatible with the other military commanders. That Yorimoto even held killing intent towards Yoshitsune was probably something that she never came to understand in her entire life. For, since she was a genius, having concern towards abilities was something that did not exist in her. But no matter how many times she is betrayed, she still wants to fight for someone's sake.

Real name: Edmond Dantès. Shrouded with wrathful, blue-black flames, the Count of Monte Cristo himself is the most renowned "Avenger" in the world. His wrath and vengeance are directed toward "irrationality and malice," and never toward innocent people. He was recorded in the Throne of Heroes as combined with the character in his eponymous novel and materialized as the Extra Class Avenger. He acknowledged Chaldea's Master, saying "while commonplace, you crush the machinations of evil," and forged a contract. Subsequently, he took root in the depths of his Master's spirit as a co-conspirator in deceiving and scorning the irrationality of this world, and plays an important role in shielding that spirit from malice. With the spiritual strength and quickness of thought honed at Château d'If where he was once sealed, he is skilled in incredibly quick unarmed combat using superhuman physical abilities, as well as his all-consuming black flames.

While his True Name is Edmond Dantès, Avenger perceives himself to be a different person from the seaman from Marseille. While in life he had abandoned his dark nature at the end of his gruesome and tragic revenge in Paris, his powerful and vengeful Monte Cristo persona has manifested as a Servant and is still acting as the "image of a nemesis", so he claims, "In that case, I am not Edmond." Therefore, he will never introduce himself as Edmond Dantès. His catchphrase is "Wait and Hope" (in French, "Attendre, Esperer"), which is a direct quotation from the ending of The Count of Monte Cristo in his farewell letter to his friend Maximilien Morrel.
