Project Overview
Manus in Mano (meaning "Hand in Hand") can be described as a gothic fantasy film, heavily inspired by nature. It's a conceptual story of a child who lives in a small cottage with their guardian who actively convinces them that the outside world is terrifying and dangerous through storytelling. The story follows the child's desire to experience the outside world despite the coercion of their guardian to stay inside and considers and explores the irrationality of this fear and how the human psyche can ensnare a person to the extent of severe self-doubt. The relationship itself is allegorical for the disorder, looking at the hurt inner-child and the overbearing existence of agoraphobia.
