[Death Note Abridged] Love Note: A Death Note Parody - Casting For Episode 2
Project Overview
Love Note is a parody series of Death Note. Light Yagami is a japanese high school student who's bored with his current life and looking to spice things up. One day he comes across a Death Note and instead of using it to kill, he repurposes it as a diary, unaware of its super-natural nature.
This project is currently nonpaying, however in the future payment could likely become a possibility if this series gets enough support. In the meantime I hope to find creatives who are in it for the fun, much like myself. If you are cast for 1 or more roles, you will gain access to the official Discord server where you will have first shot at auditioning for new roles, as well as receive regular updates on the series' progress. Other opportunities are also possibilities outside of my own projects.
Episode 1 has already been published on my personal Youtube channel, however it is being polished and touched up and will be reuploaded on the new channel here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCsrAKtVa9LjIz9iJTYpp23g
If you aren't too experienced, please don't shy from auditioning. I'm looking for voice and potential, as well as professionalism.
Good luck!

One of several main characters that drive the plot forward. He takes his job seriously and regularly butts heads with L due to his selfish desire to solve the Kira case to satisfy his own ego. Since he's an old man he isn't caught up on the youth's trends and lingo, but he's supportive of his children nontheless, and is perhaps taking on Matsuda as a sort of child figure himself.
For voice:
He's a middle aged man who takes his job very seriously, so the voice of a middle aged man will do. Preferably something deep, perhaps a little grizzled, but most of all wise.
(Resigned, then increasingly resolved) I suppose it’s a necessary move we must make. After all, every second we don’t take action, that son of a bitch is taking another innocent life... That son of a bitch…
Actually that name didn’t catch on, people are calling our mark Kira now. They're also calling him "based". (In response to being asked 'based on what?') Apparently on something called "AF". We think it might be a code.
(Comically Angry) IF YOU SO MUCH AS BRING THIS INVESTIGATION NEAR MY FAMILY WITHOUT MY APPROVAL AGAIN I WILL SHOW YOU THE FACE OF GOD MYSELF!
Touta Matsuda is Mr. Yagami's right hand arm, man. He's Mr. Yagami's everything. His confidant. His best friend. His silly rabbit. His silly rabbit. Does he call him that? No.
In Love Note though, Matsuda is Soichiro's apprentice. A genius in deduction with a sharp mind that rivals even that of L's. The only thing holding him back is that he's a complete idiot in every other way. Where Light is Smart but Dull, Matsuda is Dumb but Sharp. He is wholly dedicated to the Kira investigation, of course to save the world, but also because he idolizes L as the greatest mind of the time.
For voice:
Don't be afraid to add your own twist, but generally I'm looking for something a little goofy; more cartoony than anime if you catch my drift. I have no specific voice in mind other than perhaps a bit higher pitched, so I look forward to seeing what you bring to the table.
That’s where you’re wrong, Mr. Yagami! L is a kind and compassionate soul who’s putting everything he has into getting this dastardly ne’er-do-well behind bars!
(Comically Agonized and over the top) Mr. Yagami! Why?!
Gentlemen, please! We can't fight like this, otherwise we're doing exactly what Kira wants!
Raye Penber is an FBI agent who has travelled to Japan on business to perform a clandestine investigation into Light Yagami as L's number 1 suspect on a hunch. He's an eager worker and has quite the potty mouth. He takes his job so seriously he looks like an idiot as a consequence. For a voice I'm not looking for anything particularly goofy, however. A simple adult male voice contrasted with his behaviour will form his character rather nicely.
Ray Penber only has 1 line for episode 2, however he features prominently in episode 3. (spoiler for the original series) If you're familiar with the official release you know that Raye of course dies soon after his first appearance. When you are cast for his role you will of course have first access to auditioning, or being chosen for any future roles that arise later in the series.
Alright you son of a bitch, I’m on your ass like a turd you didn’t wipe! No offense to your mother though, I’m sure she’s a wonderful lady. But not you, you son of a bitch!
(internally) Look cool, don’t look weird. Remember the “How to Look Natural When Stalking Teenagers 101” course you took at FBI school! (externally) I AM A NORMAL CIVILIAN. SPACE WORLD.
Well son, looks like another ne’er-do-well is off the streets thanks to America!
Shuichi Aizawa is oddly intense . He has a hair trigger and is willing to jump to action at a moments notice. He isn't as compassionate as he was in the original series, but I think that makes him more lovable.
For voice: Again, a simple average adult male voice (perhaps with a smidgen of frat boy vibes) should work nicely, though I encourage creativity.
Like Raye Penber, Aizawa only has a handful of words to speak in his first appearance, however he will feature prominently in future installments. Unlike Raye, he has no active involvement in episode 2 however, instead first appearing in episode 3.
(Inappropriately excited about what he's saying) Watch this, guys. You can actually pinpoint the second his heart stops working.
Ha, Idiot! Your FBI training couldn’t save you from death, stupid! (mumbled) I wonder if we have any more angles of this guy biting it...
(Yell this) He’s got a gun!
