Project Overview

Why hello everyone!

While we love the second Lion King movie and think the voice acting is on point we would like to dub the entire movie ourselves to improve as voice actors, singers and editors - and most importantly to have fun while doing it. 

It will be released in four parts of around 20 minutes to make it easy for digestion. 

We will try to cover all of the songs in the movie and we would love for our voice actors to be willing to sing their character's songs: 

E.g. Zira's voice actress could sing "That's my Lullaby". This is not obligatory but greatly helps with the selection of who we are going to cast. 


Requirements for being cast: 

  1. Good microphone quality - no background noise, static or anything of the like. We want to make this Dub as authentic to the original as possible and match its quality best as we can.
  2. Access to Discord or E-Mail - while Discord is preferred we can also send you the script through e-Mail, and you will be able to submit your lines through either way.
  3. Reliability/Commitment - We would like for our voice actors to stick around to dub the entire movie. This might take a while so please beware. Being able to submit lines within deadlines is expected, but if problems arise you can always talk to us for us to extend it. 
  4. Having fun! This is an unpaid project, so having fun and garnering experiences are definitely within the focus of this.

  • In search of a new Vitani!

    Thanks to our old voice actress for Vitani going irresponsive throughout and past the deadline we are looking for a new Vitani! The current role is asking for both the young and old Vitani in the movie, young Vitani being present in part one and old Vitani being present in parts two and three (the movie will be published in segments to break up the amount of work). If we do not find somebody until all else has been edited in I myself will be voicing young Vitani, the search for old Vitani will still be ongoing even in that case.

  • The missing roles were added!

    I am proud to announce that the Roles of Nala, Zira, Vitani, Nuka, Rafiki, Zazu, Timon and Pumbaa were finally added! Looking forward to hearing your takes on them. Have fun! :)

We are looking for somebody to help us with editing the songs in this dub, such as "He Lives in You", "We are One", "One Of Us", "My Lullaby".
We've got the singers (for some parts), now we need your talent to help us with editing!

If you have experience with this and noise reduction from recordings we're pretty much good to go. Feel free to audition with some of your past work, but it's not obligatory. Having fun with this is, however! :)

You can sing this one both if you are male or female! Our Rafiki has a voice actress hence becoming "Rafika", so either work fine, really :)

Based off on the great diversity in voices in The Lion King we will most likely choose multiple singers to work with us on this.

Zira is an evil Outlander lioness looking to make her son, Kovu, heir to Scar, king of the Pridelands. She doesn't shy away from any means to achieve her goal and is the core villainess of the movie. 

The mate of Scar during his reign; Zira cherishes the memory of the dark lion, and her greatest desire is to see Simba dead and herself and Kovu as the rulers of the Pride Lands. With her three cubs, Kovu, Nuka, and Vitani, she leads the pride of Outsiders in the desolate Outlands, well beyond the borders of the Pride Lands.

It's a plus if you sound like her, but it's not obligatory. Neither is being able to sing "My Lullaby", which is her song, again, a plus to be able to do so, but not obligatory! :)

    (Realisation dawns) What an IDEA! You brilliant child. I'm so proud of you. You have the same conniving mind that made made Scar so... powerful. 

  • Vitani... now! (Commanding her daughter to attack)

    If you will not fight ... then you will die as well. 

    Wh-wha... Where are you going? Get back here? (She watches in horror as her pride leaves her to join Simba's)

Zira's only female cub is devious and malicious; she is Zira's most trusted ally in her schemes, and indeed she grows to look very much like Zira in her adulthood. However, she is the first to be swayed by Kiara's wisdom and to abandon Zira to her futile vengeance.

Vitani has some lines as a child and some as an adult. It's up to you if you want to take both on, otherwise I can ask for the young/old version in another open role! 

Vitani has a few lines within "My Lullaby", it would be nice if you could go for these no matter your singing skills!

A mystical mandrill; He is the pride's medicine man, shaman, and seer. He can communicate with the spirits of the Great Kings of the past, and was a great friend of Mufasa when Simba was a cub. He lives in a baobab tree some distance from Pride Rock, painting in order to develop his prophecies.

    Ooh... there is trouble in the Pride Lands. There is another cub? Hmm... where could this be? In the Outlands...

    But that is where Simba banished Scar's followers. Including his most loyal... Zira.

  • Oh, Mufasa... every day Kiara grows more beautiful, into a Queen that will someday make us all very proud. {He paints a mane on Kovu, next to Kiara.} But this cub Kovu grows stronger. And Zira fills his heart with hate. I am very worried, Mufasa. Things are not going well.


    Hmm? You have a plan?


    What? Kovu... Kiara... together? This is the plan? Are you crazy? This will never work! Oh, Mufasa, you been up there too long. Your head is in the clouds!


    Okay, okay, okay! Okay! All right-- okay! I don't think this is going to work... but I trust you. I just hope you know what you are doing!

The wisecracking meerkat with the "no-worries" attitude has become employed by Simba as his royal babysitter. He takes it upon himself to instruct Kiara in the things which make life really worth living-- how to take it easy. Yet he respects and fears Simba's temper as King, and would do nothing (intentionally) to let him down.

    {He finds Kiara underneath him, spluttering, and he gets off.} Sorry. Now, Princess Kiara... as Simba's daughter, you know better than to go off all alone. You could have been hurt!

Queen of Pride Rock, and Simba's mate. She is dignified and regal now, only showing her more playful side in private conversation with Simba; at all other times, she commands respect from the lionesses in her pride.

Zira's eldest son. He is best described as a "dork"; fancying himself as smart and of great leadership quality, he is a mangy, parasite-ridden, bony misfit with very few positive qualities. His foremost desire is to prove his worth to his mother. He turns out to have some disturbing leanings toward pyromania.

Nuka dies during the events of this movie so prepare to have a death scene!

The Simba we all love <3 

King of the Pride Lands. Simba has grown since we last saw him; he is now nearly as imposing as his father Mufasa was, and he takes his role in life much more seriously. One might even think that the trauma he suffered in his first movie was enough to make him somewhat reactionary and overprotective; he will spare no effort to preserve the Circle of Life and to keep his daughter Kiara from being hurt. He has a tendency of mistrusting the Outlanders and being quite stubborn about this. 

We'd love if you would like to sing Simba's part in "We are One" but this is not obligatory!

    SIMBA: As long as you live here, it's who you are. You'll understand someday.

You do not have to imitate the original voice actor/have the same tone of voice, it's definitely a plus but we're happy for you to take your own spin on the character. 

Cub of Zira, and the one chosen by Scar to rule after him; Kovu was banished to the Outlands when Simba regained power after the death of Scar. According to Scar's dying wish, Zira is committed to training him to avenge his death by killing Simba and retaking Pride Rock. Kovu's views on the matter change after he meets Kiara and hears the story of Scar from Simba's mouth.

Young Kovu is relatively sassy, quite sure of himself and highly influenced by his mother, Zira.
