Sebastian predominantly appears as a courteous and impeccable servant. He is also callous, heartless, and sadistic. He is ruthless when attacking others on Ciel's orders. Sebastian usually expresses his diabolic nature through his dark, sarcastic humor and inability to see good in anyone.

Grell is shy and clumsy as a Butler in her human form, although, in her Grim Reaper form, she is hyper and flamboyant, and finds guys generally attractive, although it is been noted that she had feelings for Madam Red.

Alois is a generally cheerful but sadistic individual. His emotions can alternate unpredictably from enthusiasm to anger. He also loses interest in things fairly quickly. Alois often uses harsh and impolite language such as "bloody" or other expletives, regardless of whom he is speaking to.
