Kirby's Knightmare Comic Dub Project (Part 1)
Project Overview
Welcome to this project of mine! It's a dub for my comic "Kirby's Knightmare". The plot is fairly simple and the story itself isn't very long. It's looking at ending at around 140 pages, while it's currently at 64 pages. I want the dubs to be split into three parts, making it a trilogy. Part one covering pages 1-44, part two covering pages 45 - 92 and then part three covering the rest. I already have a video editor/producer in mind, so no need for one of those. And while music may typically just be Kirby music, I do have someone else making an original piece for the dub, so this is really just for voice acting roles.
The dub project isn't due to start until May
So, we have plenty of time to find actors, but I thought I'd get them all chosen and prepped for when the project does start! There isn't really much more to say other than yes, you can use your demo reels to apply for a voice, but I would prefer if you use the suggested auditioning lines, as I grabbed them from the comic.

Kirby is, as we all know. Cheerful beyond all reason. He's bubbly and happy almost all the time, but I'm not afraid to let this puff show more than just happiness on a day to day basis. His age is, I'll admit, confusing because most would place him as a child. But to me, Kirby is seen to be much older, especially with how old his species could potentially live for. So honestly, from child, teenager, to young adult, any of those specifications could fit Kirby. So try what you'd like. It's hard to imagine this pink puff with a voice that isn't high and pitchy, but know that I do not want him to have a voice like that, so I'm interested to see what kind of voices audition. However, my preference would be a girl's voice, however, that shouldn't discourage the dudes, I'm open to hearing all auditions.
"Well, you might be right. But I have my own reasons. Besides, you work for Dedede. You're my enemy. Why would you even care? Go away." Sounding slightly annoyed, but cheerful nonetheless.
"Well, I hate to tell you this, but you're not much of a villain... You've helped save Dreamland more often than not." Said smugly, and quite blatant towards the end.
"W-Wait... You think I've won? But you knocked away my sword before your mask broke. Shouldn't that mean I've lost? I'll be honest I did let my guard down there..." Said inquisitively, confused but admitting in the last sentence.
Much like Kirby, Meta Knight is practically the same in terms of personality. A very serious character who is more or less mysterious beyond all reason. However, this Knight can't hide from comedic moments when around Kirby. Another similar factor is that I've also labeled Meta Knight as ageless, and that is because he's literally 1000 years old. In my perspective I would like either teenager or young adult to audition, and hopefully see what happens. Also, let's not do the whole "Spanish Accent" ordeal because it's really overused when it comes to Meta Knight. His sub voice is a nice one, as it's soft but also quite low, but not as low as the games portray. Good luck!
"OK OK OK! I get it! Stop talking! ... I know I'm not the most obvious vilian, but that changes today." Shouted in annoyance at first, and still annoyed but tone is more controled.
"That may be how you see things, but looking from a third perspective it is you who should take this victory. Meaning that our deal, you have won." Said in a informative way, then more of an upset admitance in the last sentence.
"*Sigh*, It doesn't matter... What's more important is fulfilling my half of our deal. It would not be honourable if I back out. So, Kirby. What were your terms again?" Said in a very tired manner, more or less just exhausted with the entire ordeal at this point.
Bandana Dee is a wannabe friend of Kirby's who well, is constantly worrying for his safety. Bandana will do just about anything for Dedede despite how harsh he may be because he is almost always worried about the worst-case scenario if Dedede was to demote him. His voice should sound young, so teenager seemed a good place to place him. While I don't have any preferences on the voice itself, a little higher on the tone level may be better for this worrisome Waddle Dee. Later becomes a minor rather than supporting role in Part 2.
"Being friends would be nice. If only... Maybe one day we will be friends! Wouldn't that be nice? Right, Kirby?" Said in an upset matter, but as the sentence progresses he gets more hopeful.
"YOUR MAJESTY! It's horrible! Kirby's been kidnapped by Meta Knight and is probably gone forever!" Very panicked and rushed when speaking, perhaps a little overexaggerant.
"Hi, Sailor... It's Bandana. Er, well... I think Kirby was kidnapped by Meta Knight earlier today. I'm worried and wanted to know if he was ok?
King Dedede is just as prideful as ever here, worried only for his own interests as well as besting Kirby in any way possible. Let's not have a voice that reflects his horrible one in the anime, please oh please let's get some originality when it comes to auditions. Of course, lower is better when it comes to his voice but don't butcher it. Since Dedede is one of the only adults so far, try to reflect his age. Also, he may not have many lines in Part 1, but he becomes a supporting character in Part 2, so y'know...
"Hm? Oh. It's you, Bandana. What do you want? Can't you see I'm busy finishing off the final touches for my new weapon against Kirby? Make it quick." Said slightly annoyed, but due to more of just being tired rather than seeing Bandana.
"What's that now? Meta Knight actually kidnapped that pink puffball?" Said in slight confusion but also humour.
"THAT'S IT! I've heard more than enough! I don't care what you do! Just get out! NOW!" Very annoyed at this point, and frustrated beyond breaking point. A very sharp tone, but somehow there isn't much bite to his words.
Much like Dedede, Sailor is also a minor role, however, this Waddle Dee is important when needed. Being best friends with Bandana and highly devoted to the Meta-Knights, you couldn't have a better Waddle Dee working under you. Meta Knight is lucky to have a cheerful girl like Sailor apart fo his forces. In terms of voices, she'd obviously need to be voiced by a girl, and a higher tone would be nice, but I'm not picky so just have a go and see what happens!
"Kirby, you say? Well, funny thing about that... He's actually duelling with Sir Meta Knight right now..." Questioning at first, then drawled out at the end, unsure with a few nervous laughs to even the tone.
"Er, He's duelling Sir Meta Knight? It's going well so far, although I do hope that Sir Meta Knight wi-- ... --Uh hello? Did he just hang up on me?" Explaining at first, then hopeful when wanting Meta Knight to win. In disbelief when realised she'd been hung up on.
"I got the ma- oh... S-sir? Is Kirby alright? Did something happen?" Cheerful at first but then very unsure and confused when questioning about Kirby.
