IPSEITY: EXPANSION OF OUTER VEGAS - CRIMSON CARAVAN DEMO
Project Overview
IPSEITY: EXPANSION OF OUTER VEGAS
A PROJECT FOR FALLOUT: NEW VEGAS
-----------------------------------------------------------
SYNOPSIS
------------------------
Ipseity is a project which aims to expand upon the area of Outer Vegas. This project will add in more quests, NPCs, locations, and lore to the area. This demo will showcase a small area within the mod - that of the Crimson Caravan HQ.
Ipseity started out as a smaller project named "Couriering Ain't Easy". Some may remember this project, as I hosted a casting call for it way back in 2020. However, as I was developing the mod, it grew and evolved into Ipseity. The stakes for this mod are now higher, and the scope is now bigger. I've been working on this for years, and am aiming to have the full project released later this year or early 2023.
WHAT IS MY ROLE IN THIS?
----------------------------------
I will be directing all voice actors cast for a role.
WHAT IS YOUR ROLE IN THIS?
----------------------------
I am looking for various actors who are willing to bring the cast of this project to life. The cast is wide and varied and will need a strong cast of voice actors to deliver the lines.
I am not super picky about microphone quality but would prefer if the mic is around the range of a Blue Yeti.
INSTRUCTIONS
---------------------
If you are cast for a role, you will receive a script through CCC DMs or email with recording instructions, deadline, accent specifications, character bios, and line directions. If you want to discuss alternate communication methods, that can be arranged.
I expect lines to be sent back for all characters following the correct organization.
For auditioning, It would be best if you were recording through audio recording software like Audacity or Adobe Audition. You should export and submit your audition as a .MP3 audio file with the settings of 44.1 kHz, 16 bits, and mono recording format.
I will open more roles over time. If you are not cast for a role, don't be discouraged from auditioning for another, as more roles will be posted over time. If you're already cast for a role and want to audition for another one - you can do so.

----------------------------------------
Payments will either be sent on the very day you're cast or after you've sent in your lines - It all depends on you. I would strongly prefer using Paypal as a means of transaction, but if otherwise, we can discuss alternative methods of payment.

You *have* to be 18 or older to be eligible for being cast for a role. If you're below that age, you're not eligible.

[Person greets you]
Hey, how you doing?
[Person asks, "What brings you to New Vegas"]
(Chuckles) Not for the gambling or the honeys (A plural form of honey), if that's what you're implying.
|
|
Nah, I'm here so I can make money. Got a wife and two kids to feed, you know? I've only been working here for a few months, and the pay is good so far.
[Person asks, "What work did you do before coming here?"]Pretty much the same thing I'm doing now - security.
|
|
I guarded farms, ranches, bars, brothels - you name it, (Chuckles) I probably defended it.
|
|
Pretty much anywhere within NCR territory, really. Well, anywhere close enough for me to keep seeing my family.
[Person then asks, "Why did you take this job, then?"]
The pay for working in this branch is higher than back home. So I thought, "why not?"
|
|
(Semi-reluctant) That, and well... I just need some time to myself, I guess. Need some time to think about some things.
[Person asks in response, ""What do you need to think about?"]
Well... personal stuff. Let's leave it that.[Person asks, "How's work going these days?"][You're reluctant to answer, as you're holding some secrets][You give a vague answer in response]
I haven't gotten shot or stabbed... at least not yet. So that's reassuring.
|
|
(Sighs) But I don't know. Shit's been kinda loco lately. There's something about this place that doesn't sit right with me.
|
|
I'm just waiting until my contract is up. After that, I'm heading back home and finding work elsewhere.[Person tries to convince you into telling them what's really going on][You're initially reluctant, but give in after they pinky-promising not to tell anyone]
(Giving in) Oh, alright! I don't see any crossed fingers behind your back, so I guess I can trust you.
[Person tries to convince you into telling them by bribing you][You're initially reluctant, but give in after seeing how much money they're offering]
(Shocked)(tantalized)(Eyes widen)(Staring at money) Oooh, that's a lot of money. Uh... oh, alright. I'll talk. Not before you hand me the money, though. (Slight cough) Thanks.[COMBAT LINES][SHOUTING THROUGHOUT]
WE GOT A SHOOTER!!!
TAKE 'EM DOWN!!!
(Got shot)(Groaning) SHIT!!!
(Got shot)(Groaning) Aw, no... I'm bleeding.

[Person greets you]
Yeah?
[Person asks, "What's it like working here?"]
It's craptastic.[Person asks, "What brings you to New Vegas?"]
I came here for the booze and chips. I initially signed on with Far Go Traders. They told me they were branching out to New Vegas, and were in need of hired guns.
|
|
Then out of nowhere, they told me they decided to (Mocking tone)(Imitating a corporate clerk voice) "wait until the war is over, but would still like to continue my partnership with them."
|
|
So I said fuck that, dropped my contract, signed on with the Crimson Caravan, and now I'm here; sweating my ass off. The end.
[Persons asks, "I'd like to know more about you."]I like anti-material rifles, scotch, and puppies. That's all you need to know about me.
[Person says in response, "That's it?]
Yeah, that's it.[COMBAT LINES][SHOUTING THROUGHOUT]

CHARACTER DESCRIPTION:
- Angie Becker is a secretery working for the Crimson Caravan in 2281.
- Angie Becker is Don Hostetler's (Pronunciation found here) secretary. She handles day-to-day schedules, among other things...
- When speaking to clients and her superiors, she is welcoming, nice, and sweet. However, when speaking to fellow employees who are not her bosses, she is petty, rude, and spiteful. She has an aura of fakeness, and is an attention seeker. She feels that she is above her peers due to getting preferential treatment by her boss. She tries to appear as being a team player, but she's anything but one. Many of her peers dislike her. However, she is good at her job, which is all that matters when working for the Crimson Caravan Company.
- She's 25-30 years old.
- I would prefer for her to have a "valley girl" accent. If not, a regular North or Southern American accent will do.

(Welcoming)(Smile) Hi, ma'am! What brings you to the Crimson Caravan Company?
[Person says they're looking for work]
Well, I'm sure Ms. McLafferty should have work for contractors such as yourself. She's usually at her desk over 'yonder.
[Person, asks ""What can you tell me about the Crimson Caravan Company?"]
(Advertising the company you work for)(Rehearsed tone) We're the best trading company in the wasteland.
|
|
Here at the Crimson Caravan, we not only see each other as co-workers, we also see each other as family. That's why we work so well.[Person asks, "What do you do here?"]
Oh, I'm Don Hostetler's secretary. I handle his schedule, notify him on things - basically making sure he keeps a piece of mind.
[Person asks for your opinion of Don Hostetler]
Oh, he is just lovely! I wouldn't think of working under anyone else here. We make quite the team![COMBAT LINES][SHOUTING THROUGHOUT]

- Not much is known about Dr. Hickey, other than that he received training from the Followers of the Apocalypse and worked with them for a few years for the experience. He later left and signed on to be a physician for the Crimson Caravan's New Vegas Branch after seeing job postings.
- He's your average doc. He makes sure his fellow employees get proper treatment and are work-ready.
- He's 25-35 years old.
- North American or African-American accent. No other exceptions.
- LINE AMOUNT - Around 30-60
[Person greets you]
Never seen you here. You're a recent transfer?
[Person says they're not]
*Phew* Good. I don't need more people to take care of. I already have my hands full as is.
[Person asks, "Who are you?"]
Holston Hickey. However, it's Dr. Hickey to you.
[Person asks, "You're the doctor around here?"]
Yep. The only one. Hopefully, I'll get a nurse assigned here to help me with the workload.
|
|
Preferably a raven-haired bachelorette who knows her way around a gauze sponge. But eh, beggars can't be choosers.
[Person asks, "How did you get this job?"]
I got my medical training from the Followers. I rolled with them for a couple of years before leaving.
|
|
After I left, I saw some job postings pertaining to here. So I talked to a few recruiters, they liked my credentials, got a few papers to sign, and now I'm here. Quick-and-easy process.
[Person asks, "You get a lot of patients here?"]
Yep. It's the usual stuff, mostly. colds, joint pain, back problems, headaches - that kind of stuff.
|
|
The more... serious cases are injuries from traders and caravan guards. Most notably those who survived a bushwhacking from the Fiends. It's never pretty.
[Person asks what you know about the Fiends]
I only know what some of the traders and guards tell me. They're insane and ruthless. Many of them probably turned out that way from developing psychosis through chem abuse. What a depressing path to fall under.
[Person asks if they can acquire your services]
Sorry, but I'm unable to. I'm only allowed to treat my fellow employees. Company policy.[COMBAT LINES][SHOUTING THROUGHOUT]

Yeah? What do you want?
[Person asks what you do here]
I make sure shit gets done in this here ranch. I'm in charge of keeping these boys and girls in line.
|
|
It ain't easy, though. A lot of these workers are dumber than the brahmin. It's like I'm herding cattle myself!
[Person asks, "What issues do you have with your workers?"]
Shit, where do I even start? They're a lazy, whiny, and ungrateful lot. They're always crying about wanting to head back home or to the Strip.
|
|
They complain about the beds, they complain about the heat - they do more complaining than working![Person says they're an agent of the Omertas][They say that they will report your debt to a man named Cachino][This scares you straight]
(Eyes widen)(Nervous)(Skin turns pale)C-cachino? Oh, shit!
|
|
(Sweating) L-look, let's be rational here. There's no need to do something, right? (Nervous laugh)
|
|
I'll be more easy on the folks here. I promise you. J-just don't tell on me to Cachino, alright?[You're ordering your workers to get back to work]

CHARACTER DESCRIPTION:
- Langston Rhydderch (RYE-DERTCH) is a guard working for the Crimson Caravan in 2281.
- Langston used to be a beat cop back in Shady Sands before becoming a caravan guard. However, he discovered that his old job wasn't fulfilling enough for him. He had heard about how wild New Vegas was, and how's always a need for mercenary contractors. So he resigned and joined up with the Crimson Caravan as a guard.
- He's sort of an adrenaline junkie, and likes a good fight.
- He's 25-35 years old.
- North American accent. No other exceptions.

[Person greets you while you're guarding a checkpoint]
Hey, I don't got much time to talk. So make it quick.
[Person asks, "What brings you to New Vegas?"]
The action, bud. Booze, money, girls - that good shit.
|
|
And New Vegas has plenty of that. (Laughs)[Person asks what you did before taking this job]
I was a policeman back in Shady. Walked the beat and all that. The pay was decent, but goddamn it was boring.
|
|
This job is an upgrade, let me tell ya.
[Person asks why your old job was boring]
'Cause, it was the same shit every day. Patrol the streets, write tickets, send in reports, and head home.
|
|
The most that would happen there were some mild altercations; like some guy beating up his wife's boy-toy, or some kid pickpocketing folks.
|
|
I hear some other departments - like the ones in The Boneyard - got more action going on. But I don't know, I don't think that job was for me. (Laughs) Now this job? This is more my speed.[COMBAT LINES][SHOUTING THROUGHOUT]

CHARACTER DESCRIPTION:
- Obadiah Salama is an assistant ranch manager working for the Crimson Caravan in 2281.
- Hailing from Adytum, Obadiah was originally contracted to be the ranch supervisor of Crimson Caravan Company's New Vegas branch. However, due to some "rearrangements in staff structure", he was bumped down to assistant ranch manager. He currently works as Remy MacDuff's right-hand man in overseeing ranch operations. However, if certain actions are made in-game, he can be promoted to be the new ranch supervisor.
- Obadiah is a nice, honest man and a hard worker. He loves the process of tending to the livestock. He treats his fellow employees with respect and as equals. His subordinates like him, and would prefer him being ranch supervisor over Remy MacDuff.
- He's 25-35 years old.
- North American or Southern American accent. No other exceptions.

[Person greets you][You're a bit busy]
(Cordial)(Nice)I'm a bit preoccupied right now, but I can talk.
[Person asks what you do here]
I help Mr. MacDuff with overseeing the ranch. You know, stuff like scheduling and monitoring the other ranchers.
[Person asks, "Do you like working here?"]
Oh, it's a good job. I love tending to the brahmin and hanging out with the other ranch hands.
|
|
I'm from Adytum (https://www.dictionary.com/browse/adytum), so I'm sorta used to being in a rough area. I just hope that the NCR will clean this place up when they take over the area.
|
|
(Apprehensive tone)(Correcting yourself) Well, uh, if they're successful in taking it over. I hope.[Person asks you of your opinion on Remy MacDuff, your boss]
He's a... *Clears throat* fine boss. We get on well enough. He can be pretty rough on the workers, though.
[Person asks, "What do you mean 'rough'?"]
Well... *sighs* he tends to think that berating the ranchers will get them to work more efficiently. That, and he doesn't do much ranching himself.
|
|
If it were me, I would just work with the ranch hands more. Be more active. Build rapport. It would help boost morale and motivate people to care more about their roles.
|
|
I just think he could treat the people better. That's all.
[Your superior has disappeared under mysterious circumstances][Due to this, you have been promoted to ranch supervisor][This is a new role for you, so you're bit nervous]
(Shocked) Still can't believe Mr. MacDuff is gone. *Sighs* Golly.
[Person asks how the ranch is gonna be like with him gone]
Well, I've been promoted to take his place. This whole position is sorta new to me, but I'll do my best to keep things moving. Things will go on as normal, though.[COMBAT LINES][SHOUTING THROUGHOUT]
OH, GOD!!! RUN!!!
DON'T KILL ME!!! PLEASE!!!

He is considering breaking his contract so he can head back home. However, the only thing holding him back from doing so is the wages he'll only get once his contract is up.
- Hank signed onto the New Vegas branch after hearing so many good things about New Vegas. However, after spending some time in the area, he regrets his decision. He is suffering from PTSD, and isn't of a sound mind. He's definitely not getting support from his bosses.
- He's 25-35 years old.

[Talking to yourself]
(Grumbling)(Upset) I’m telling you… This city… this region… it’s all fucked.
[Person asks for your opinion on New Vegas]
(Cynical tone)(Upset) New Vegas (Chuckles). They tell you about the money, sex, drinks, and all the good times you’ll be having. Funny, I guess they also forgot to mention the chemmed-up raiders who want to put your head on a pike!
|
|
I came here to see what the hubba was about - to get a change of scenery and hopefully make some money. Biggest mistake I ever fucking made. And let me tell ya, I made some shitty decisions.[Person asks what happened to you]
My caravan got waylaid by those animals who call themselves the Fiends.
|
|
The guard that was with me… well, he didn’t make it. I was the only survivor.
|
|
I got knocked out during the whole thing. When I woke up, my partner… (Eyes widen)(Remembers what happened)(Cut yourself off from speaking any further) I... I don’t want to talk about it.
[Person asks how you've been, lately]
I don’t know. After that shitshow, I haven’t been able to sleep well. (Sighs) I haven't been able to do a lot, lately.
|
|
I told Dunwoody how I've been feeling, and he just brushes me off. Says that's just how it is in the wasteland.
[Person asks if you're gonna stick around]
I’m torn, man. I want to head back home, but my contract isn't up yet. If I leave now, I lose out on my wages.

CHARACTER DESCRIPTION:
- Leon Dunwoody is a merchant supervisor working for the Crimson Caravan in 2281.
- Leon Dunwoody oversees all the merchants who go on caravan runs. He makes sure his subordinates are bringing in sales and delivering orders to the Crimson Caravan's clients. He has worked for the Crimson Caravan for years and loves the experience of traveling to new places, which is why he signed onto the New Vegas branch. He is disliked by some of his subordinates, who feel he's cold and uncaring for their wellbeing.
- Leon has been in the caravan game for a good while. He has endured many trials and tribulations, and has become accustomed to the average experience of working on the frontier. This includes dealing with the frontier's many dangers. However, through developing this mindset, he expects his fellow traders to think the same way. So whenever someone complains about working in the frontier, he shoots down their complaints in a way that could be described as "inconsiderate".
- He's 45-55 years old.
- North or Southern American accent. No exceptions.
- He has a gravelly, rugged voice. Like someone who smoked too many cigs.

|
|
Traveling to new places, seeing new faces, and of course striking a good deal - ain't nothing else like it. (Laughs)[Person talks to you about one of your workers going on a strike]
(Sighs) Are you talking about Hank?
|
|
Look, the kid shouldn't be complaining. He's working on the frontier, goddamnit. He should've known what he signed up for.
|
|
At least, all us merchants went through the same shit he did. You don't see us whining.
|
|
Trust me, he'll get over it soon and understand the process. This job ain't a cake-walk.
Come on, people! We got money to make!

CHARACTER DESCRIPTION:
- Wenzel Zoric is a repairman working for the Crimson Caravan in 2281.
- Hailing from a tribe that has recently assimilated into the NCR, Zoric moved into one of the NCR states to find better opportunities for himself. He signed onto the Crimson Caravan's New Vegas branch as an assistant repairman. While he has no issues working on the frontier, and likes some of his employees, he dislikes working with his superior Brandon Auteberry.
- Zoric is just a simple man wanting to build a better life for himself. He's willing to put up with internal issues on the job just so can earn his keep. However, there's only so much a person can take before they snap.
- He's 25-35 years old.
- I'd like Zoric to have a "Slavic RP" accent. An accent mimicking accents from Slavic countries (Polish, Russian, Croation, Serbian, etc.). If you're a native actor from a slavic country, that'd be even better.

|
It's just... well... the people here. Some of them can be real jerks.
[Person asks about your issues with your employees]
Yeah. Not all of them are bad, though. Some folks like Miller, Darnell, and Obadiah are cool.
|
|
There are just some that are a pain in the ass to work with - (Grumbling)(Looking at Brandon from afar) like Brandon.[Person asks about your issue with Brandon]
(Venting)(Annoyed)(Sighs) Brandon is just so difficult to work with. He wants everything done his way and expects you to just know how to do it.
|
|
I can deal with the insults, I can deal with the smacks to the head, but I can't deal with a guy who thinks he always right. That dude is more stubborn than a bighorner.
[Person asks why you signed on here]
I heard so much good things about this city - the neon lights, the girls, the drinks.
|
|
I also heard you could make a fortune here, if you "play your cards right", as someone told me. So I came here to see if it's all true, you know?[Brandon, your superior, is yelling at you][He then knocks you upside the head][You've had enough and tell him how you really feel about him]
(Furious)(Angry)(Shouting)(Fuming) YOU KNOW WHAT, BRANDON!?!?! FUCK YOU!!! FUCK YOU, YOU OLD BASTARD!!!
CHARACTER DESCRIPTION:
- Brandon Auteberry is a repairman working for the Crimson Caravan in 2281.
- An NCR army veteran hailing from the state of Maxson, Brandon signed on with the Crimson Caravan company as a repairman. In his military years, he was a small arms repairman, an engineer, and a combat engineer. He had fought in many conflicts against raider tribes and the Brotherhood of Steel. His military experience has given him an aura of respect amongst his employees. For him, his military experience had made him develop a prejudice against tribals no matter their origin. In this case, he is strongly passive-aggresive towards his assistant, Wenzel Zoric - who is a tribal.
- Brandon is an experienced individual whose beliefs are staunch. He believes that he's always right, and that everyone else is wrong. He is quite rigid in his thinking, and rarely leaves room to be corrected and/or see another point of view.
- He's 40-50 years old.
- North American accent. No other exceptions.

Need something repaired?
[Person asks about your background]
Used to be a trooper in the NCR army - Staff sergeant, Second Platoon, Charlie Company. I was around during the earlier conflicts - before the scouts even found the dam.
[Person ask what you did during your service]
I was a combat engineer and small arms repairer. I did stuff like maintaining weapons, construction, and demolition. Isn't nearly exciting as it sounds, though.
[Person asks if you fought anything/anyone during your time as trooper]
I fought raider tribes like the Jackals and Vipers. I also tussled with the Brotherhood of Steel when we were kicking their asses. I wasn't around during the big showdown at Helios One, though.
|
