Project Overview
INTRODUCTION
This casting call is for the Season 2 Comic Dub of "I Hope So," brought to you by Detective Calico. People cast for main roles may be asked to provide lines for additional, smaller roles not featured. If you're not cast for a main role, and your voice matches the tone of the show, we may ask you to provide lines for supporting roles in the production. All roles are in the English language, and all roles are unpaid. We are only accepting auditions from those who are 18+.

PROJECT OVERVIEW
'I Hope So' is a Webtoon comic by Detective Calico. It follows the story of a young lioness who is born with an injured leg and a loyal heart, and her struggles to fit in to a Pride with a corrupt leadership of discrimination and evil. I Hope So is a webcomic that follows the story of three lionesses who fight against the dangers of nature, and learn the value of found family. It is inspired by the independent animated series, My Pride, but is in no way affiliated with it. It is but a different take on the same concept. The story also lends themes from animal classics such as Watership Down by Richard Adams and The Animals of Farthing Wood by Colin Dann. Joining the Discord server will be highly recommended. <3
DEADLINES AND AUDITIONS
The deadline for auditions is the 1st of October 2023. There are currently no plans to extend this deadline.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Expect to be warmly greeted by myself! I will need your discord or email information in order to contact you. We communicate primarily through Discord and email. If you are unfamiliar with Discord you can still audition, however, we strongly, strongly recommend participation through Discord so that you can collaborate with your fellow voice actors.
- Please submit clean recordings on XLR mics (if possible, there may be exceptions.)
- Feel free to cut your lines to your best/favorite takes. Three is the gold standard. I have a few voice actors that would rather give me more takes to work with, and that's okay, too.
- If you are cast, please submit future recordings as .mp3 files to my personal email address, which will be provided to you after casting. If a file is too large to submit via email, I prefer to use Google Drive.
- I do occasionally ask for line re-dos, but I try to do this as sparingly as possible.
- Lastly, since we are planning on dubbing future episodes of the comic, we 'd like to cast people who will be able to stick with us for a while. We're incredibly proud of the acting troupe we've formed over the production of Season 1, and when starting a new project, I frequently return to voice actors I've worked with in the past. Recording for Episode 6, the next episode, will likely be a week after casting!

The middle child with middle child syndrome, but is very close to her mother and siblings. Her relationship with her father is professional at best and incompetent employee being scolded by CEO at worst, with her growing deliberately distant from him. She often takes her sister Bright's lead. But between Bright and their brother Fade, her patience runs thin very quickly and she's not above sarcasm at the worst of times.

Bright (she/her) is Edge's eldest and strongest heir. She finds her dad's business rather fun and is more enthusiastic about jobs he gives her. She's strong, snarky and confident in her ability to carry out her family's duties, no matter what they are.
