Project Overview
WARNING THIS CASTING CALL CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR HOMESTUCK^2 AND THE HOMESTUCK EPILOGUES.

With that out of the way i'd like to welcome those who have stumbled upon this project. While many Homestuck dub teams are focused on dubbing FriendSim and PesterQuest, i thought it'd be a good idea to hop onto Homestuck^2 while it's still fresh on the plate. I've been involved in the Homestuck VA community since 2016 and have voiced in both small comic dubs and larger dubs of fan adventures, but this will be my first time organizing a dub of my own. While i am going to take this project very seriously, don't expect it to be super cut throat and strict. This is, at the end of the day, a fan made project done for the sake of fun, and getting stressed over tight deadlines and such isn't much fun. That's not say there will be no deadlines and consequences for missing them, but that im will to be pretty flexible depending on the situation.
As for now we are only casting to cover characters who appear the first three chapters and the untitled prelude to them. We will NOT (for reasons i shouldn't have to explain) be dubbing any of the Patron exclusive pages. Future chapters will be casted as needed in relation to the speed of production.
Requirements for this project include:
- Preexisting knowledge of Homestuck, because there's no real easy way to quickly catch a newcomer up to speed.
- Good clean audio with no major white noise or background noises.
- The ability to stay dedicated to the project and come back when your character appears in a new chapter.
- A discord account that you can be reliably contacted through, so you can be added to the project discord server. Links to said server will be sent after you've been cast.
- and being able to be honest and telling us when you need to leave the project. We promise we won't be upset as long as you don't ghost us.

This is a bit of a weird one considering the kinda vagueness of "who" the narrator is in Homestuck. For context Dirk is technically the Narrator but it'd probably be weird to have him constantly be the soul voice of the narrator. So to combat this, we're just having a normal narrator.
Requirements for narration are just a clear understandable voice, with an occasional bit of spice to fit Homestuck's style of writing.
This is my PRIVATE STUDY on board the THESEUS, a LIGHTSPEED CAPABLE VESSEL built for tearing around the cosmos like there's no tomorrow. This is where I keep all of my PRIZED ARTIFACTS, CANONICAL KEEPSAKES, and other assorted OBJECTS OF HISTORICAL AND/OR ARTISTIC PERTINENCE. Some of these items were really hard to come by, requiring very creative use of my full faculty as an ascended Heart player. The rest was just stolen from my friends' houses when they weren't looking.
Dirk has become the magnum opus of obnoxious and pretentious asshole, but i dont think he would really sound any different from the common idea of "Dirk". If anything, i think something a bit deeper / gruffer to highlight that this is, in fact, an older version of Dirk then in the original comic would work.
Oh, nothing important. To the extent that anything that you or I do is even capable of being unimportant anymore. Which extent is admittedly teetering a few microns shy of jack dick right about now.
I just want to get this on COMPLETE lock-down before I strap myself into the safety harness we'd all better hope wasn't also omitted from the design schematic of this stupid ship, We're letting *Terezi* smash us into the planet we've been hunting for three years? Should she even be driving this thing?
It's Rose Lalonde but a robot! Rose as a character was never most expressive in speech in my mind, but i think approaching with a more monotone drone would help. Please do not apply your own robot filter no matter how cool you think it sounds.

Jane has yet to appear much yet in ^2 thus far but if we can take notes from the Epilogues and know that she's going to need quite the performance. Jane has hardened into a strong and self centered woman, easily capable of manipulating others and using other's emotions against them. Jane will (in the future) need to be able to be both weak and frail sounding at one point, and cold and cut throat at another.

Vrissy, being a new character, has no pre-established voice that the fandom has all mutually agreed on yet, that being said with all things considered, Vrissy probably just sounds like a younger Vriska, but all interpretations are welcomed.

I would not call this Piping Hot Turd of a Situation “killing it” in any way. They had already evacuated. That’s it. No skill of ours involved.
Tavros is also open to personal interpretation, but id put money on him having something in the same line of the silly accents commonly appointed to Jake and Jane. it's also noteworthy that he has a similar typing quirk to Tavros Nitram so that may also be a good place to pull inspiration from.

Dave cool dude Strider, the major different i think i'd want in an older Dave voice vs younger Dave is maybe him being a bit more expressive then usual.

Im gonna be blunt im not 100% sure what up with this character. If the memory of reading Candy serves me well this a dead young Jade being possessed by Calliope. Im open to interpretations but im pretty certain, deadpan and ominous is the angle you should go for.

This role is pretty important because for this i'd like to cast someone who is also trans. If you didn't know that Roxy is trans now then oops but also i had a spoiler warning so yea. This one is fair game of "any interpretation goes" amd im particularly excited to see what you do for him.

In chapter 2 : Clown Logistics, there are 3 named students, Imode, Silas, and Avril. It is unknown if the characters will reappear later in the story, as such they will be treated as background characters. In the situation that they may appear again later in the story, they may be subject to re-casting.
You may audition for one, two, or all three of them, just keep it to 1 submitted audio file.
