“Guys”
Project Overview
Welcome to the "GUYS" Casting Call page!!! Here you can find all sorts of open slots for talent, including calls for Voice Actors, Animators, Editors and more!!!!
"GUYS", an animated buddy/comedy feature film produced by Dozer Davis Productions, follows Max Anderson, a very nice & caring employee working at the biggest corporation in town, meeting Ryan Collins, a very mean employee who got fired from his job at a techno studio by accident. An accidental turn of events involving a secret corporation project propaganda ends our two guys out in the middle of nowhere. Confident that they'll find a way back to Crateville, Max & Ryan try to make the chase back home before it's too late. This film is based on "The Two Guys" short film by Dozer Davis, and it will follow very loosely from the plot of the short, with a new plot thrown in. The film's primary goal is to feel like it's a late-1990's comedy.
This project is a passion project of mine, and getting this made is gonna take a hard amount of effort and a LOT of time to get it complete. Here, you can find all of the open roles that we have currently for the project, including:
- VOICE ACTORS [To help give life to Max, Ryan, Michelle, Jonathan, Benny, Jess, Narrator, etc.]
- ANIMATORS [This role we REALLY NEED!!!]
- STORYBOARD ARTISTS [To help envision the film through boards]
- WRITERS [For promotional material, mainly]
- EDITORS [To edit the film, leading towards the final product]
- SOUND DESIGNERS [To create a 5.1 soundtrack, complete with voices, sound effects, and the music cues]
- A MIDI ARTIST [To compose the soundtrack for the film]
- A PRIMARY SINGER [To sing the background songs heard in the film, including an end credits duet]
- A SECONDARY SINGER [For the end credits duet song, currently untitled]
If you get accepted to any of these roles, you will be given an invitation to a private Discord server, where you can hang out with others & help out with making the movie come to life. If you don't have a Discord, we will be able to find some alternatives for you to send me your work. The goal is to reach a release date sometime between 2026 and 2027, if not, by the end of the decade for sure. So, if you're looking to help, go ahead and submit an audition!!!

Max Anderson is your typical average guy who works at a corporation that rules the world. He is a nice, and civil man in his early 20's, born in 1975. He is the first of two leading roles in the "GUYS" feature film.
- english
- male young adult
- animation/character
- comedy
Hey there! I'm Max Anderson, and I've been living here my whole life!
Should we be friends? I'm thinking we should be friends.
Do you want to go have some fun somewhere? I'm sure there's something in store somewhere for us, Ryan!

Ryan Collins is another typical guy in the city, however, unlike Max, he is way more popular, as he works at local studio... or at least he used to, until he got kicked out and met Max by accident. Now, he's stuck with him, and he thinks he's the most annoying person he's ever met. Oops! He is the second of the two leading roles in the "GUYS" feature film.
Hey there. What do you want? I'm too busy right now with something else, now beat it.
Hey, WATCH IT! I'm trying to do something here...
Look, shithead, I am NOT going with you. Your annoying as hell, so leave me be!!!

Much like Max, Michelle Jenkins is an average gal in the city, who was recently hired at the Unruled Corporation. She has a slight love interest in Max, however, she probably doesn't realize it. She is a secondary lead role of the "GUYS" feature film.
Well, if I wasn't here right now, I wouldn't be helping 'ya, right?
Oh, I sure do hope Max feels better...
Don't get into any trouble, Max!

Jonathan Davis is Max's boss at Unruled. He is somewhat cruel, but gives some care into his employees... alright, TIME TO BE MEAN AGAIN!!! BACK TO WORK, YA SCRUMPS! He has a Jim Carrey sort of behavior that goes on with him. He is a secondary lead role in the "GUYS" feature film and considerably the main villain of it as well, as he's constantly plotting at something secret...
AHH! MAX, WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU SCARE ME LIKE THAT?!!? THAT IS NO WAY TO ENTER THROUGH SOMEONE'S OFFICE!!!
Oh, yes... I'm sure he'll be in "good hands" soon...
Look, you better do the job correctly... or else YOUR FIRED!

Benny Wright is the leading Security Guard at the Unruled building, looking out into everyone's business as there are security cameras everywhere, even 150 miles away from the building, which is where he comes by Max & Ryan, after an accident leads them far from their home. He is considered as the comedic relief character of the film.
I won't let you down, Jonathan! I PROMISE I WON'T, BECAUSE BENNY NEVER FAILS!!!
Agree with 'ya there!
Hmm, maybe if I find a spot to hide, maybe then they won't find me...

A young & old hippy in his early-40's, who gives the guys a ride after their accident that led them to the middle of nowhere. He says the word "man..." a lot, probably because he has smoked a fair ton as a young hippy. He is a secondary leading role in the "GUYS" feature film.
Yeah, I like to refer to windows that are cracking open as... "open windows", man...
You want some sort of cigar to help ya, man?
I sleep in my van all the time, man...

The narrator of the story, focusing on the story and sometimes constantly messing with the viewers (and to some extent, the characters) minds. For this role, audition with whatever you want to narrate over! Funniest one will be the narrator in the final version of the movie!!!

A crewmate that helped Ryan when he once worked at his job, the one primarily responsible for why he got fired in the first place. He is a minor character in the film.
Hey, Ryan? We got a problem over here!!!

Ryan's former boss at the Techno Studio. While he may be older than Ryan, he definitely gives a shit about his studio, and the reputation of it. While he's a minor character, a piece of advice he gives out does make a difference in the story...
So, you think you can get away with your NASTY ATTITUDE, young man? Ha, think again...

One of two drivers that take things out of town from Crateville, for... reasons. He's a minor character.
Well, gotta hand it to you, Glenn. Your ideas are amazing!!!

The other driver that takes things out of town.
What? You thought you were gonna get more information here? Well, unless you want to get spoiled, I'm not giving it to you. Sorry. He's also a minor character.
Even after 15 years of operation, we're still going strong, Gary!!!

As this is a feature film, we need several animators to help out in animating a large chunk of the film. The animator should try and animate the scenes in the same style as the film as best as possible. Just to clarify though, this IS a 90 minute movie at best.
Any animation software is welcome for this role. I primarily make my animated stuff through Sony Sketch (defunct app), however, stuff like Adobe Animate & Toon Boom are also welcome here. Try and keep it true to the film's style, though. Resources will be provided to help you animate the movie.

A film wouldn’t be entirely perfect without it being properly edited correctly. Despite me being a good editor myself, I am not able to hold that much storage onto one iPhone, and have to transfer it onto a MacBook Pro over and over again just to add the 35mm effects to it & composite the 5.1 audio. So, to prevent this from happening, I am opening up this role to find an editor that can edit things at a reasonable rate. Adobe Premiere Pro would be a reliable software to use, however, all editing softwares are welcome.

To envision what the final movie would look like, we would need storyboard artists to draw & map out the scenes (using the script as a reference) so that the animators can start animating those scenes. If you want to help storyboard the film, this role is your opportunity to do so!

To make a great soundtrack, the MIDI style of music is the way to go, especially with something like “Guys”, where the MIDI music matches the environment perfectly. Send a demo of your work here, and I’ll decide if I should hire you!

Once again, as a film goes, you can’t have a feature film without sound… although technically you could’ve 120 years ago, but nowadays, you can’t have it without sound… unless your artistic… it doesn’t matter. This role would have to mix the final version of the feature film and the finalized scenes in 5.1, with a mix of both cartoony sound effects & realistic sound effects, a la Gary Rydstrom style. Any audio mixing software is welcome, ex. Adobe Audition.

The world of “Guys” wouldn’t be complete without a song or two. While this isn't planned to be a "musical" film, these songs would play in the background while the characters interact, similar to how Toy Story approached its musical songs. Four songs are currently planned to be included in the film. One plays at the beginning of the film, another as a montage sequence, another during a flashback, and the final one (as a duet) during the ending credits.
Max Marvin & Danny Cesar are going to sing the songs in this film.

For this role, we need someone who can write the “special shoot teaser” that will be released approximately 8-12 months prior to release, rewrite the script (if needed), and a song writer who can write the songs that are heard in the film.
