Project Overview
Hello there and welcome to my Genshin Impact Fandub Casting Call!
What is Genshin Impact? - Article taken from Wikipedia
Genshin Impact is an action role-playing game developed and published by miHoYo. The game features an open-world environment and action-based battle system using elemental magic and character-switching, and uses gacha game monetization for players to obtain new characters, weapons, and other resources.
Though the game may already have English voices, this is merely a passion project made just for fun. And because I have nothing else to do while stuck in quarantine and lockdown.
About this project
1. What is the project? - This project will be a 10 minute video, roughly, showcasing several of the character's attacks from the game. Characters from the game will be open for auditions, and our voices will be used in the video instead of the original voice actors' voices.
2. How long will the project be? - The project will hopefully last only 1 month at the latest. Each character will have 1 script with around 10 lines at max. The initial deadline will be 2 weeks from when the lines are sent out. And if any extensions are needed, please be sure to let me know. The video will be uploaded once all the lines are received. Footage is currently being gathered.
3. Mic Quality - Though an expensive microphone is not required, it would be more ideal if you had as best as quality as you can manage. Please try not to record in an echoy space, or have too much background noise. Other things like pops are also preferred to be kept to a minimum.
4. Acting Ability - As this project WILL require shouting, it is imperative that you display your ability to shout in your audition. Line 3 for all characters is short specifically to demonstrate your ability to shout. Please note that you do not have to scream the place down, but as long as you can show that you can comfortably shout, that would be great! And obviously, no whispering! Lines 1 and 2 need not be shouted, they are just simple audition lines so I can get a feel of your voice!
5. Cast for multiple roles? - I'd like to do a 1 role per actor rule, but as there are a lot of characters, managing a small cast would be easier. So if I like your audition for multiple characters, then I will cast you as multiple characters! If you would only like to be cast as one character, please state so on at least 1 of your auditions.
6. Communication - Either Discord or email. I will most likely have a Discord group set up so please have a Discord account so you can join, and an active email address for back up.
And finally, be sure to have fun! I got into Genshin Impact at the end of last year and I considered doing this kind of project for a while. I was a little hesitant to start something new, but I am confident I can make an enjoyable end product, and hope that everyone will have an enjoyable experience!
Please note that more characters may be added over time. And some characters may be missed out. While I could easily find all the footage online, it is more fun to use one's own footage rather than someone else's.

Finally, I possibly might self cast for a role myself, but I will wait until I have cast all the roles, and I may not even need to self cast!
The casting will take place on March 9th. If the deadline needs to be extended after that, it will be extended for another week. And then we will see how we have gotten on with casting from there.

...Wow, 250+ auditions...I'm a little intimidated and also speechless ^^' Thank you so much to everyone who has auditioned! There are so many AMAZING auditions! Honestly, picking this cast is going to be SO tough! I will have all the roles cast on Tuesday 9th March. Will the large amount of auditions, it looks like it'll be one role per VA. If you are cast, I will comment on your audition with an invite to join the Discord group. Please note that I will be self casting for one role too, that role will be closed to an actor off site, me. Also, if you are not cast, I may be in contact with you for another role. By the time this project is ready to be uploaded, there might be another character out, so one more role to fill. For Jean's voice, I would like her to sound a little deeper than her English voice, while still maintaining elegance, but with the heart of a warrior.
Jean is the Acting Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius and the older sister of Barbara.
As the acting Grand Master for the Knights, Jean takes all of her responsibilities and duties associated with the role seriously, regardless of how trivial the tasks may seem to her, such as finding a lost cat. Due to this, Jean often exhausts herself trying to complete commissions from the locals, much to the concern of others. Jean's devotion to her duties makes her well-liked by everyone in Mondstadt, including Diluc, despite his animosity towards the Knights. She always completes her missions with elegance and success, and is not one to be easily fazed.
I am Jean, the Dandelion Knight, requesting approval to join your party. From this day onwards, my honour and loyalty lie with you.
Master Diluc is my senior, and I have the utmost respect for him. Though we have gone separate ways, I can sense we share the same strong commitment to protecting the kingdom at all costs.

Amber is described as an "exemplary of justice" by Kaeya. A righteous and accomplished knight, she fulfills her duties and does things by the Knights of Favonius handbook. She is as charismatic as she is kind, being able to see others' efforts to turn over a new leaf.
Cheerful and friendly, Amber has no problem talking to strangers as if she's already acquainted with them. She is passionate in all things she does, be it when it comes to helping others as an Outrider or taking out hilichurl camps.

Kaeya is a confident and charming individual with a flair for the dramatic, and is sometimes seen as overly laid-back. He seems to get a kick out of telling bald-faced lies, but this tendency becomes a talent when it comes to his role as the brains of the Knights of Favonius.
Kaeya often uses his charm as a way to get information on the people around him. He frequently does this with thieves and criminals, and then decides whether to arrest them or let them walk free. Kaeya enjoys putting people into high-stress situations and challenging their values, and does so to both his enemies and his allies.
Please, allow me to join you on your journey. Guarding you on your journey sounds far more entertaining than any of the usual Favonius stuff.

I would like Lisa's voice to be a little deeper and more mature sounding than her English voice, while still having a fun and flirty tone, but with a more sultry edge.
Lisa is a proficient witch; as such, she enjoys everything related to the elements and items that would help her in her understanding in them. Despite her position as Librarian, Lisa takes it somewhat haphazardly as she appears to be relatively bored dealing with the normal books, instead preferring those in the restricted section. She still takes the job seriously nonetheless, as she will personally go out to collect books that are overdue, albeit in a way that she can still enjoy the smaller things in life.
When Lisa becomes angered, the surrounding air becomes electrified in part due to her Electro Vision. This generally occurs whenever someone doesn't return one of the borrowed books on time, or if they are damaged or stolen.
Lisa seems to be very flirtatious and charming, as she often refers to the Traveler as "cutie", "darling," and sometimes "honey", and considers Albedo to be "good for the eyes."
Hi darling, are you going to be Lisa's little helper? Don't worry darling, I'll take very good care of you.
Feel free to use the alchemist's upstairs from the library whenever you want. But make sure you knock first, we wouldn't want you seeing anything you're not supposed to, now would we?

For Diluc's voice, I would like him to sound cold and distant, with a medium to deep sounding voice.
Diluc is aloof, bitter, and distant. He dislikes wasting time on idle talk and can easily grow impatient.
Diluc holds a particular resentment towards the Knights of Favonius, whom he calls "inefficient" and snubs at every opportunity. This bitterness stems from Inspector Eroch's handling of his father's death, and Diluc has not lessened his bitterness even after Eroch was discharged from the Knights as a traitor. He believes that the Knights' ineptitude means poses a danger to the city, and therefore decided to defend the city himself as a vigilante. Despite his animosity towards most of the knights, he believes that a few show potential.

I would prefer Venti to be voiced by a female using a young boy's voice in order to replicate his English voice, but guys can try for him too!
Despite having the appearance of a young boy, Venti is much older than he looks. And thus although he has a youthful voice, his speech resembles that of a more mature person.
Venti has a somewhat recalcitrant attitude and a liking to rhyming in his speech. He sees a particular worth in music to the point where he names his lyre, saying, "every being deserves a name to be called upon, and woven into a song." He is also quite bold, shown many times in both the manga and the game, not fearing to insult or ignore those who are supposedly powerful. In the game, he responds to Paimon's comments and nicknaming by parroting her.
Traveller, we meet again! Allow me to join you on your quest. I must see to it that the bards of the world tell the Traveller's tales!
Acting Grand Master Jean... Well, what do you think of her? Yes, I couldn't agree more: conscientious, courageous... kind and considerate too. Reminds me of another good friend...

Xiangling loves cooking, having learned the art from her father. She does not have a discerning eye towards a specific type of cuisine, seeing that food is a way to expand and experiment. She will use anything for her recipes, even unconventional ingredients that could gross out other people. Even if some of the dishes are not to her liking, Xiangling will not give up and simply press on to modify or start over from scratch.

While maintaining law and order in Liyue as the Tianquan, Ningguang always looks for good opportunities with her business wit. Despite her wealth, she dislikes excess extravagance and uses her accumulated mora wisely.

You can learn from me, and use Mora to make things a little easier on yourself. But remember, relationships built on Mora can only be relied on for a time. And that is why I have never brought Mora into our relationship.

She is a good captain, getting along well with her entire crew. In part due to her time in the seas, she can easily read people in an instant and shows no fear to powerful entities. She often breaks the rules in Liyue, often resulting in hefty fines from the Tianquan, but she does not appear to mind paying, despite having lost a significant amount of mora doing so.

Klee is an energetic and outgoing girl, with Jean remarking that she takes after her mother, Alice. She acts like a typical young girl - full of energy and loves playing with her friends. She has a particular talent for creating explosives (as bombs) and adores everything that blows up, such as Amber's Baron Bunny. Klee's definition of playing is throwing explosives all over the place; she is particularly fond of fish blasting. Klee always tries to comply with the "Favonius Survival Rulebook" whenever she goes out to play.
In part due to her young age, Klee can be easily confused by topics she doesn't have any context on, such as a "wine industry" monster or Diluc's grumpiness.

He lusts for combat and grows excited by fighting particularly powerful enemies, even if it means he dies in the process, and uses bows because he is weakest with them, making his victories with them all the more exhilarating.

She has been bright and optimistic from a young age, albeit being a bit clumsy at times. Regardless, she's able to quickly recover and jump back into it.
Barbara is a hard-worker, but can be hard on herself at times. However successful she may seem to others, she shares her own mixed feelings on her achievements. Barbara will become somewhat disillusioned and doubtful when pondering about how long a smile lasts on someone's face after listening to her song.

Bennett is a well-behaved person, albeit he somehow has terrible luck attributed to him. His bad luck causes all types of misfortunes to befall either him or others nearby. He is oblivious to the fact that his former members had left him because of said luck.
Despite this, Bennett is very optimistic and continues to show a positive outlook on life, attributed to the fact that despite the odds, he somehow manages to push through them. He interprets his Vision as a sign that the gods have not given up on him.

Due to her upbringing as a child, Fischl is obsessed with fantasy stories and roleplays as a benevolent princess. Her speaking manner can confuse those unfamiliar with her, which results in Oz having to translate to whoever she is speaking with to understand what she means. She is used to talking this way that even casual conversations confuses them just as much. Most people generally shun her for her childish behaviour, making Fischl upset, but it does not dismay her. She really appreciates company that is willing to go along with her roleplaying, as she has very few friends.

I would like Mona to have a 'high and mighty' tone of voice, like she's looking down on everyone, but it's all a façade.
Mona is an astrologist who takes her passion seriously. She is very knowledgeable in this subject in part and respects her master, although it is implied that she is also scared of them. She combines her astrology skills with hydromancy, which makes her a well-known, if still growing astrologist. In part due to her astrology, Mona can tell whether or not a person is lying and can even sense their intentions just from a single glance.
Being obsessed with astrology however gives Mona a sense of pride with her passion, but this also serves as a double-edged sword; any Mora she gets her hands on is immediately spent on astrology-related materials, regardless of its cost. She only realizes too late when she has run out of Mora to meet her daily needs, often going without shelter or food for days on end. She does not tolerate those who disrespect her.
If it is divination you seek from me, then I ask you respect my name by learning it wholly, here and now.
The work of the astrologer is to show people what fate has in store for them, and that's exactly what I do. There will always be those however, who are unable to accept what they are told.

I am at your service, my liege! I humbly trust that even one such as I, a mere bookworm, may yet prove to be of some utility under your wise leadership.
Had I no moral compass, my efforts would have been misguided. Doomed to grasp at shadows while missing the substance, I would have become a philistine that seeks only violence.

I would like Diona to have a high pitched voice, with a classic tsundere personality.
According to her father Draff, Diona is in a bit of a rebellious phase. While Diona adores her father and idolized him in her youth, witnessing his change in personality while drunk shattered the pedestal she put him on — and started her vendetta against alcohol. Diona seeks to mix the most disgusting alcoholic drinks possible and ruin the Mondstadt wine industry. Unfortunately for her, she has a magic touch that makes all her drinks delicious no matter how noxious her ingredients are, much to her frustration.
In her Voice-Overs, Diona proves to be a classic tsundere. She worries over the Traveler's ability to get home safely without night vision and offers to escort them home... until the Traveler reminds them that street lamps exist, and Diona quickly denies ever having offered escorting them. She also appears to crave companionship, implied to be a result of Draff neglecting her when he's in his drunken stupors.
Diona, Bartender of the Cat's Tail! I charge a hefty fee for private events... huh? You didn't come here for a drink? Hmph... Well, then I accept your invitation... I suppose...
Rain! I hate rain! ...Let's go inside... Hmph, I'm not scared of water, I just... hate it when my clothes get wet.

I would like Qiqi to have a high pitched, softly spoken and sleepy voice.
Qiqi has a quiet, yet polite demeanour when dealing with customers at the pharmacy. As a zombie, Qiqi has trouble remembering what she needs to do, requiring orders to perform her tasks. She is shown to be quite intelligent in this regard, such as issuing orders to herself rather than having others do it for her, having a notebook in which to remind herself if she forgets, and even strides to improve herself so she becomes less forgetful.
In particularly foul days however, she may forget to check on her notebook. She is also fond of coconut milk for reasons unknown, though she initially mistakes it as "cocogoat" milk.
Morning means it's time to check my diary. Because my diary reminds me what I'm supposed to do in the morning.

Chongyun is a positive and honourable young man with a passion for sweets. He is typically extremely stoic and composed, but this isn't always the case.
When Chongyun physically heats up, his congenital positivity causes him to enter a nearly manic state during which he loses it and becomes exceptionally friendly, illogical, and excitable— usually causing extreme chaos. Chongyun doesn't remember anything from his time in this state once he returns to normal, and is usually extremely upset by the havoc he learns he wreaked, and goes to extreme lengths to apologize for his behaviour. Almost anything can send Chongyun into this state, from eating hot or spicy foods, to standing in the sun for too long, to wearing warm clothing, and he tries to avoid anything that could possibly trigger this congenital positivity at all costs.
My family has practiced the art of exorcism for many generations. Fate has been generous in allowing my path cross with that of yours.
Your skills are impressive. When you make work of an evil spirit, it is surely banished from this world for good. How about we team up?

I would like Zhongli to have a deeper and more mature voice, with a sense of class and dignity.
Zhongli is a calm, reserved, and polite man who knows much about Liyue's history and culture in part due to his time as the Geo Archon. He holds very philosophical ideas towards money and has great respect for Liyue's traditions, including those that have been forgotten or warped during the passage of time. Despite his wealth of information, Zhongli tends to be humble and even seems somewhat insecure about being a, as he puts it, "bourgeois parasite."
One of Zhongli's most defining characteristics is his tendency to forget about Mora in transactions, agreeing to spend large sums of it without having any Mora on hand and even taking "discounts" as granted despite being an obvious scam. He often ends up relying on others or the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor as financial support.
Trade relies on both contracts and fairness. There is one thing you must never forget when making and abiding by a contract: if fairness is lost, then the contract shall become proof of one's deception.

Hu Tao appears to be a quirky and cheerful girl. No one would think that she is actually the renowned director of the Wangsheng Funeral Parlour unless she tells them or they are working with her.
Whether she is acting as the Director of the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor or as Liyue Harbor's "famous" poet, Hu Tao's nature is exceedingly eccentric, penning poems at midnight and going all over the place in the day, making everything full of wonder. Like lightning or sparks of flame, she always comes and goes in the blink of an eye, igniting everything around her.
Some plants only grow in gloomier spots with ample moonlight. You ever seen any? No? Well, I'll have to show you next time.
A bright moon aloft amid the vast, clear skies... Moments like these are just perfect for writing poetry.

Albedo is also apparently good with children, and even the rambunctious Klee listens to him.
I am Albedo, Chief Alchemist of the Knights of Favonius. You carry the aura of the stars, interesting... I would like to study you, if you do not mind.

I would like Rosaria's voice to be a little deeper than her English voice.
Rosaria is a somewhat intimidating woman who has a rather unorthodox idea of piety. Kaeya describes her as someone who is "honest with herself". She dislikes topics that bore her and having to work overtime. Fischl overheard her cursing out someone in Barbatos' name and takes it as a sign of Rosaria's piety, an interpretation Oz doubts.
Despite her position in the church, Rosaria appears to be relatively lazy on the surface, refusing to attend a choir practice with her fellow sisters because she finds it boring. She is devoted to Mondstadt's safety, making sure that there are no threats to the city. Like Fischl, her intuition appears to be very keen, as she correctly guesses that Albedo has ulterior motives at hand, even if he appears to show otherwise.
Listen disciple, if you've got a problem you can't handle, then I'm the one for the job. But if you're looking for prayer, you'd better find some other Sister..
