Hey everyone! This is a casting call for a comic dub/fandub of the official Genshin Impact comics. This is being produced by me and Javachipbusiness, and we are looking for voice actors and possibly editors to be a part of this project! This is a passion project to kick off a new youtube channel. :)
About the project:
This project is a fandubbing of the official Genshin Impact comics by Mihoyo. Right now we are casting for the prologue, but definitely plan to continue on to the rest of the chapters! No knowledge of the game is needed, just know there might be small character spoilers. The manga currently follows a different story than the game, and features characters not in the game.
For the prologue the final video will be broken into two parts. We are casting for all the prologue characters however, and will be working on part 2 immediately after part 1. Part 1 editing is nearly complete, and you can see a preview here:

For editors: Right now me and Java are currently editing all video and sound, as well as providing some of the voices. However, each chapter has quite a few pages, so we would love to take on another editor or two to help us alleviate some of the workload and get videos out quicker.
Guidelines:
1) Mics with little to no background noise
2) 18+ only! This project does not contain adult content, but for personal reasons we prefer to only work with those 18+.
3) 2-3 takes per line and no slating is preferred, however your audition will still be considered
4) Communicate! We will be using discord for this project. If you need deadline extensions, please let us know! We would like to stay as on top of things as possible.
5) Have fun! This is a passion project to have fun making and being a part of a project. We do however plan to handle it as professionally as possible. Don’t be rude :)
Venti is a mysterious bard whose true identity is Barbatos the Anemo God. He has a mischievous attitude and is the kind of character that talks like he always has a smirk on his face. He speaks rather straightforward and is very articulate. He often talks in rhyme.
Please note!! Venti is a bard, however in the game his singing is more like melodiously reading a poem, so you don’t have to necessarily be a singer for this part!
Also: although Venti is a boy, due to the pitch of his voice girls are welcome to audition as well!

(telling a bard’s tale) ♫In trepidation the wind still sings,
Fear not the darkness that evil brings,

(excited/surprised, then increasing excitement as he explains the festival) What?! Did you just say Ludi Harpastum??? A most famous festival for girls and boys! Known for having 15 days of games and joy!
Venessa is known as the ‘Lion’s Tooth’ and fights in an arena as a slave warrior to Lord Lawrence. She is generally more quiet and serious, but is able to shout in battle. She cares very much about her people’s well-being, doing anything to protect them. Cares for Lind, a member of her people.
Pitch: med-low
(softspoken, caring. Speaking to Lind after waking her) Did I wake you up? Sorry.. I hope you ate some herbs today.
(straightforwad, slight sadness. Then slight irritation at Venti continuously speaking in rhyme) Prison matters not to me. I’m a slave warrior of the arena. This entire city is just a bigger prison for my kin and I. And stop the rhymes. It irks me.
(shouting/commanding during a fight) Pair up, fighters! Keep the elderly and children in the center!
A seller of apples who Venti plays to for hopes at discounted apples. Gets irritated at Venti’s naivety but provides him with information nonetheless. Also a caring dad.

(Slight irritation at Venti trying to take apples. Set about his price, but not being rude) NO. That’s worth 10 coins. But I’ll offer you a one-coin discount for that fine tune, Master Bard.
(finally relenting to Venti, awarding his playing with an apple) Fine work, I must admit. Since you pleased my little girl, I suppose I can part with an apple.
(shouting at Venti as he runs off, irritated as he tries to warn him about the customs of the festival) The festival is not meant for us small folks! The magnates will not like you taking part in their joy!
Son of Lord Lawrence. Your typical spoiled lord who acts like a jerk to everyone.
Pitch: any
(yelling, petulant) How dare you! That’s my ball, you foul peasant!
(condescending/patronizing) Pfft. Just a beggar with songs. Hand the ball over, and I’ll consider forgiving your slights.
(after being ignored. angry/irritated, arrogant) Do you know who I am? I’m Barca Lawrence! I’m heir to the most powerful dynasty of Mondstadt!
The current ruler of Mondstadt. A corrupt lord who forces Venessa to fight in the arena. His presence will be primarily in part 2 of the Prologue. All of his lines are shouting/commanding.

(falsely humble, evil laughter) Despite slighting my son, I’m a forgiving master. Defeat the drake… and you’ll win freedom for you and your people! Easy, right? Hahahahaha!
(false generosity, condescending) Alright, let’s up the ante! If you defeat the drake, I’ll hand over my property and the keys of Mondstadt to you! Am I not generous, O Lord Vennessa?
(bloodthirsty) I’ve promised great Ursa an offering for lasting peace! If anyone wants to be a hero, throw him outside the walls with those savages!
An elder of the tribe Venessa was from. Taught Venessa legends when she was young.
Pitch: low
(Telling a story. a moment Vennesa recalls) And so the great heroes will be chosen by the gods to dwell with them in Celestia… They will become immortal… and protect the world with the gods
(finishing his story, instructing Vennesa) So pray, for the Gods will hear the faithful…
Random townspeople, guards, and crowd voices. Looking to cast 1-2 people for this.
(gossip, townsfolk) He’s been taking what he fancies, and now he’s after the girls as well.
(guards) Move it, you savages! Get this dirty lot outside the city wall!
(shouting, distressed/angered townspeople) No way! Murderer! Give them a fair fight!
We currently are editing all of the videos and sound ourselves, so rest assured if we do not find an editor this project will be completed! However, we are looking for 1-2 more editors to bring on to reduce workload and get projects out quicker. Editors would be responsible for editing comic panels and adding/editing sounds (voices, sound effects, music). Please be able to take direction from the directors as well, since we may have specific edits in mind!
