Gebura Recast (Lobotomy Corporation: A New Voice)

Project Overview

Due to personal reasons, our Gebura VA has decided it would be best to step down from the role and give the spotlight to someone else.

Lobotomy Corporation: A New Voice! is a long-term project aimed at bringing to life the story of Project Moon’s Lobotomy Corporation, as the game currently doesn't include any voice acting. Our goal is to present the story fully-voiced so that it can reach a larger audience who may not play the game themselves, as well as other content such as the Abnormality stories and things created by fans! We also aim to reach those that already know of the game, to provide them with a fresh new experience of the story!

Upon completion of our goal, perhaps we dare to step foot in the Library of Babel...

"A New Voice" is a new fan-dub studio, having debuted with a comprehensive English 'Project Sekai' dub of not just in-game event dialogue, but all songs and covers as well. With a strong and growing team of people, it's gone on to garner a 6,000 strong YouTube following, amassing a small but dedicated fanbase. Of course, this constant output of quality content has only been achieved by the ambition and skill of its directors. The project will be headed by guest director, Ramen in a Cupboard, with additional direction and project management being provided by a Co-Director of PRSK:ANV, tigerjolteo, both being immensely invested fans of the game!

Audition Rules!

- Please be 16 or older.

- Make sure your microphone is of clean quality. Heavy reverb or static is not tolerated.

- There is a lot of dialogue in the game from every character listed, so please make sure you're not straining yourself while trying to portray them.

- Don't be afraid to make your own take of the characters! We've listed the original Korean voices from the game's sequel Library of Ruina to assist you, but don't feel the need to stick with it. Make these characters your own!

- Please do not slate your audition.

- Please record in the AABBCC format, with a maximum of 3 takes per line.

WARNINGS!!!

- SPOILERS: This project obviously contains massive spoilers for Lobotomy Corporation's story as a whole, and character voice references all contain mild spoilers for the story of Lobotomy Corporation and its sequel, Library of Ruina.

- CONTENT: Lobotomy Corporation includes the following themes: cosmic horror, death, drug addiction, gore, grievous bodily harm, human experimentation, human trafficking, human sacrifice, injury and assault, lethal accidents, manipulation, murder, mutilation, self-harm, suicide and war.

By auditioning for this project, you acknowledge all statements and warnings made above and are still willing to participate if casted.

NOTES!

- "Sefirot/Sephirot" is pronounced "Sef-rohwt", somewhat like "Sphere-rowt".

- "Sephirah" is pronounced "Sef-rah".

- Please refer to the pronunciation guides given in each character's description, as well as the ones above. If you are still unsure of pronunciation, look up any guides on the Hebrew pronunciation of the words.

With that all out of the way, good luck!

CHARACTER DESCRIPTION: Gebura is one of the Sephirot that works for the Facility in the middle layer, Briah, and is the head of the Disciplinary Team. Gebura has a tough and serious personality, considered more strict, aggressive or rude to most employees, even the Manager. She enforces the rules of the facility without mercy, having a great disdain against cowards, employees who feel pity, and those who fear death. Along with that, she has the same disposition with Abnormalities, having a desire to make them suffer and never going 'soft' against them, as she knows the true nature of Abnormalities.

NOTES:

- Her name is pronounced "Ge-vu-rah".

- Gebura should have a voice that conveys a sort a blunt, straight forward-ness. Her voice should also exude a sense of intimidation to those who hear it.

Voice description:
  • female adult
  • (Should sound intimidating in a natural and low-key way. When introducing herself, she gives a smile, keep that in mind.) The other departments may kiss your ass while you walk around with an air of arrogance as the manager. But here, that pompous attitude will knot itself into your noose. Well, seeing that you’ve at least made it here, I guess you won’t be a complete deadweight. I’m Gebura, head of Disciplinary.

  • (Reflecting on the past. Her hatred for Abnormalities should come through on the last two lines.) Most people wouldn't even talk to us, since machines weren't worth putting their minds to. But Christopher and Isabel, they told me I was worthy of something… They looked past my exterior and saw what was inside of me, something I wasn’t even aware of. Those monsters we’re obligated to call Abnormalities have killed many people since then. And yet those things never die.

  • (Giving a talk to her employees. Project your voice! Should also sound more intimidating than usual. Her voice must hold authority here.) You should not let complacency waver your mind when you confront the monsters. You must arm yourselves with anger and pure anger alone to crush those monstrous bastards. If you object to any of this, I suggest you transfer departments immediately. I won’t squeeze out a tear or mourn over you perishing without even your name being left behind.
