Gaikokujin no Sensei (Foreigner Teacher) Visual Novel
Project Overview
Hello everyone!
I am working on a visual novel “Gaikokujin no Sensei”. The story is about a 30-somethingish American ending up teaching English in Japan. Biggest problem is, he doesn’t speak any Japanese at all, nor does he know a single thing about the culture. Along the way he encounters two spirits and is stuck with them for a year. The MC is going to be silent and will be nameable.
I am aiming for this to be T rated VN, however, depending, it may eke into M rated.
Because of the fact that all of the characters are 25+ as well as that there will be suggestive scenes, I would prefer if everyone involved was 18+ who auditioned for these roles.
For auditions, please try to eliminate all background noise as well as Pops/clicks/ etc.
The goal is to have game (minus MC's part) be fully voiced.
There will be a quite a while before any sorts of lines are due, so this is in no means a rush job and the VA's can do them over a longer period of time
Okay! As everyting is going so well, we have a new character to add to the mix! We are adding the new character Hayami! Her audition will be up for 2 weeks. so April 27th will be the cutoff.

Hayami audition updates
Thank you all so much for your auditions! Hayami's audition is going to end tomorrow night at 12am PST. the one thing i will mention about several of these auditions is that i've noticed that many of them are quite high. Remember the character's voice is ~25ish, so bring her down a tad (feel free to reaudition if you'd like). good luck to everyone! -

Hi Everyone! I just wanted to thank everyone who's auditioned for this project so far. The project is going fantastic, and the KS will be up very soon. We've just passed 200 auditions overall for the project! There's still a few days left for Hayami and there have been some great auds. Thanks again and good luck! -

Thank you all so much for you love for Yuriko! Over 25 auditions! So today IS the last day of auditions for Yuriko. I will be closing auditions for her as of midnight tonight (12am PST), so please, feel free to audition until then! A choice will be made tomorrow at some point and I will be contacting the person before i label it as cast. Once again, you're all awesome!

Kotone owns and runs a rabbit café. She is extremely full of herself, but it’s obvious to anyone who knows her even slightly well that this is a front. Is always traveling around with her pet rabbit Uso.
For vocal type, she needs to be confident, but also comical at times. She attempts to be tsundereish but fails miserably at it. The best examples I can think of are characters such as Eimi Ohba from comic party, Kodachi from Daitoshokan, or Konami from World Trigger.

2. “(Surprised) (comically irritated. The MC has just snuck up behind her and tapped her on the shoulder) Ah! You stupid jerk! I told you not to do that!”3. "(Is trying to play it cool but failing) “So um… what…what exactly is the deal with you and those two?” (jealously eking in)"
4. "(Trying to push feelings away, painful for her to say as she doesn’t really mean it) Yes! All right, I do hate you! You’re an arrogant, know-it-all jerk! GET OUT!” (The further the line goes on, the more she’s trying to hold back tears)"
5. "Watashi no kao ni nani ka tsuiteimasu ka?" (Is there something on my face?) (This one is just a test to see how well you can pronounce a Japanese sentence. Kotone only has a few lines in Japanese but I’d like to get a feel)

Makiko is the middle school gym teacher at the school where the main character works. She is extremely peppy and friendly, but can also be very competitive. Can be forgetful at times, but has a very good heart.
For vocal type, I’m looking for someone that that can have a bubbly, excitable voice, but also a little deeper as she’s pretty tall. Best examples I can think of are Yui from Lucky star or Yukari from azumanga (yes ironically NOT the gym teacher)

1. "Ah! Oh my gosh! I’m so sorry! Are you all right?” (Freaked out, she just beaned MC in the face by accident with a basketball)
2. “Hee hee, you’re just mad I caught you in my unbreakable full nelson!” (Toying with MC, having competitive fun)
3. “Is…is it all right for me to want this? Am I a terrible person?” (Just revealed her dream to MC and is extremely upset. Crying)
4. “It’s all right. I already had my chance. I blew it.” (Devoid of any emotion. Basically given up. Talking about her dream)"
5. “Aa! Ohayo gozaimasu! Ogenki desuka?” (Good morning, how are you?) (This is just a litmus test for how well you can pronounce Japanese. Makiko has a few lines in Japanese, but not too many.)

Fumo is a sarcastic, yet detached person. She is also the spirit of infertility. Always in the shadow of Aina, she has learned to simply sit in the background. She doesn’t show much emotion as she basically feels there’s no need as no one really pays attention to her anyway. Best voice examples would be Koneko from high school dxd or rei from evangelion. However, she appears to be her in late 20’s, so make sure to age her up a bit.

2. “You really ARE an idiot.” (under her breath, but embarrassed as MC just did something nice for her.)

4. “No! You can’t die! Please! Don’t leave me!” (Finally showing emotion. Crying)5. "“Aa…Gaikokujin. …. Omoshiroidesune….” (Ah. A foreigner…interesting) (Test for Japanese reads. Fumo doesn’t have a LOT of Japanese lines, but has a few. Want to get a feeling of you reading for her in Japanese.

Aina is the spirit of fertility and she embodies it to a “T”. She is very confident of herself but has no idea how to take rejection. She’s so not used to it that it causes her to freak out and act childish. Otherwise she has a very maternal yet sensual voice. Speaks no English. Best example of voice would be Urd from Ah my goddess

Aina has the most lines in Japanese. For Aina I would prefer someone who either spoke some Japanese or who can at least pronounce Japanese well.
Line 1: "Of course he’s interested! He’s just…shy." (This is her justifying MC’s lack of interest in her. Says this after Fumo basically tells her that it’s obvious MC is not interested.)(the character is actually speaking Japanese, but it’s translated speaking for the audience)
Line 2: “You..me…together. Want to talk.” (She’s trying her best to speak in English but doesn’t know how. Trying to please MC by attempting English as he doesn’t give her the time of day normally)
Line 3 “Okaerinasai, anata! Gohan wo taberu? Ofuro ni suru? Soretomo, wa. ta. shi?” (Welcome back! Do you want dinner? A bath? Or maybe…me?) (She’s doing her best to be seductive here.)
Line 4 “Aaa!!! Yamate!!! Hidoi yo ne!!” (Stop! You’re so mean!) (MC is laughing at her for doing something stupid. She’s flailing her arms and basically showing her childlike side)
Line 5 “I…I am sorry. I.. never mean to…hurt you.” (Sincere, her English is slightly better than before but still not good. Apologizing for her behavior around MC. She’s talking about emotional hurt)

Yuriko Furikawa

Yuriko works at the company that has hired the main character to work in Japan, and is essentially his boss.
For the most part, she acts extremely kind and nice, with a sort of wistful air in her speech patterns. However, she also is a corporate climber and is devious in getting higher up the chain of command.
A good example of her voice would be Japanese Belldandy from Oh my goddess.
She might have a few Japanese lines, but overall, the massive majority of her lines will be in English.
While Yuriko isn't one of the main four, she's still a very important character to the story and appears in several scenes so I would need someone who would really want to be involved in the project.
Right now she's looking at ~100 lines. if raised, pay will be raised accordingly. Same as before. if game is put for sale and not free, VA will get share

Line 1: “So you came up to me despite not knowing what I’m doing here?” (she’s kind of amused/confused here, but in a kind way. Main character walks up to her when he sees her at a booth and after asking if he’s interested, he admits he has no idea what she’s doing or selling)
Line 2: “Of course I remember you mister kind heart.” (This is said very kindly. Basically he left an impression on her at their first meeting and he says right before this “I’m sure you don’t remember me.”)
Line 3: “Now, I’m certain that you meant to get that paperwork in on time, correct?” (this is still said in her sweet, airy tone, but also with an underlying sense of power, as in, ‘don’t mess with me’. Imagine her saying this very sweetly with a smile on her face, but also snapping a pen in half with one hand at the same time)
Line 4: “(Give me a bit of a short, quiet, panic attack in her voice)” (NOT comedic)Line 5: “Huh. You really think I care, don’t you? That’s actually pretty funny.” (This is meant to be very cold and emotionless. However, I don’t want the octave to drop. I want the wistful voice to be her actual default voice, not a voice she puts on, which makes this line even more eerie.”

Hayami is an animal spirit. She hates humans because of what they have done to her home in terms of deforestation and pollution. She does not like the main character to start with and wants to make sure he doesn't mate with Aina no matter what.
She has a bit of a dandere/kuudere streak, but also isn't afraid to show her emotions of how much she hates the main character. She tries to play tricks on him, but they seem to always backfire.
Voicewise, i'm looking for something along the lines of the Japanese voice of Yukino Yukinoshita from Oregairu.
This character has a few Japanese lines, but, unlike Aina, picks up English very quickly so she won't have too too many Japanese lines, but it would be nice if the VA could pronounce some Japanese. if you can't though, I can coach.
Also, please be over 18 to audition. Not because the game is H or anything, but it has fanservice and it would make things easier in the long run.
Number in the base pay is just what is guaranteed, you will be getting more between share of sales, KS, and just additional extra payments.
# of lines will probably change. if they increase, so will payment. ~200 lines.
Line 1: (This is said in her first scene, she's in the shadows, hiding) (Say this very cooly) "Hm. Well then..I'm not going to waste this good fortune. "
Line 2: (this is after you just made a speech to the main character and it's just been revealed that he doesn't speak Japanese so he didn't understand a word you just said. imagine you're incredibly confused and are going "He....doesn't...speak..japanese? feel free to make this one sound a little dorky/silly) "Kare wa nihongo o...hanishimasen...ka?"
Line 3: (You're angry/irritated at the main character for asking you, what you feel is a stupid question) "Of COURSE I hate humans! You destroy everything you touch and don't care about anything else!"
Line 4: (you feel this is the greatest plan ever, and yet it instantly fails. be suprised at it failing.) "That's right human. Just a few more inches...." (pause) "eh? It...it didn't work?"
