Final Fantasy Tactics (War of the Lions) FANDUB
Project Overview
I plan to make fandubbed cutscenes of the amazing, complex, rich strategy battle game Final Fantasy Tactics, first released on the PlayStation in 1997, re-released a decade later on the PSP as Final Fantasy Tactics: War Of The Lions, its script styled in Victorian English.
Please note that more roles may be added later if necessary–for now I have only included the main characters (ones who have names and who appear more than once in a cutscene). Extras can be voiced either by me, or by anybody else who volunteers.
Final Fantasy Tactics: War of The Lions
Final Fantasy Tactics (ファイナルファンタジータクティクス 獅子戦争/Fainaru Fantajī Takutikusu Shishi Sensō) is a fantasy role-playing game involving turn-based strategy and combat. The game takes place in the fictional Medieval world of Ivalice, which is torn apart by rivalry and intrigue by two power-hungry Dukes who are vying for the throne of Ivalice, but also by the equally powerful Church of Glabados, who is determined to pit both sides against one another to take advantage of the chaos and secure power for their own ideological ends.
The game tells the story of 16-year-old Ramza, the youngest son of the noble Beoulve (pronounced: Bay-olve) family, and his close friend and fellow squire, Delita Heiral. Throughout the game, Ramza navigates his way through the civil war between both armies of the White and Black Lions, held by Dukes Larg and Goltanna, a revolutionary army of peasant warriors who seek to overthrow the aristocracy who rule through repression and are indifferent to the plight of the poor, and the sinister machinations of the Church, who are secretly on a quest to assemble the 12 magical gems, known as Auracites, which are imbued with dark magic, and ressurect their long-dead master, Ultima.
The game's lore extends far beyond the parameters of any typical standalone Fantasy RPG, and is as complex as it is fascinating and enjoyable. The game explores themes such as Class Prejudice, Civil war, Politics and Intrigue, Greed, Revolution, Idealism and Reality, Nobility, Chivalry, and Friendship.
I am ideally looking for a wide variety of accents and voices (ranging from regional British dialects to American, to even Australian)–you do not necessarily need to sound exactly like the characters do in the voice-acted cutscenes. If you can put a creative and interesting spin on your audition which I am impressed with, then I will be delighted!
Bear in mind though, I will be prioritising people who have better audio equipment, and who take the auditions seriously. Joke auditions will be simply ignored.
I will also be looking for extras as well–since there are plenty of unnamed characters (squires/rogues) who have lines as well!

The youngest son of House Beoulve, and the protagonist of the game. A meek, yet honourable knight who is uncorrupted by the prejudices of the elites, and does not take a side in the conflict consuming Ivalice.
Accent: Any accent is welcome, but I feel Standard American would be ideal in this case.

"I am a knight no longer. Just another sellsword."
"Delita...He lives? But...Why does he fight under the banner of Duke Goltanna?"
"The Beoulve name stands for truth and justice! It is not a tool to be used for selfish gain! My lord father fought and died defending our people against Ordallia in the Fifty Years' War. House Beoulve cannot now turn on its purpose and fight for the interests of a corrupt Crown and self-serving aristocracy!"
A commoner's son, turned squire for House Beoulve. Childhood friend of Ramza.
Upon witnessing the cold-blooded death of his sister Tietra, he is determined to create a new world order, with him ruling over all of Ivalice, so as to never allow the injustices against the common people again... and he doesn't care who he has to kill in order to do it.
Accent: Any accent is welcome, but I feel Standard American would be ideal in this case. His voice ought to be a lower-range than Ramza's, since he is a bit more serious, and less idealistic than he is.

- male young adult
"Will endeavour grant me an army!? I would save Tietra... if aught were in my power to do... But I cannot. 'Tis my meager lot in this life..."
"...It was Tietra. She watched over me then. And she still does, even now."
"Make your peace with the gods, Argath. You die by my hand!"
An ally of Ramza and House Beoulve, former attendant of Marquis Elmdore De Limberry.
Deeply insecure about his own lineage and his social standing, he holds seething contempt for the lowborn, is sycophantic in nature towards to the nobles, and has little care for anybody who he sees as beneath him.
His blind hatred for the lowborn eventually drive a wedge between himself and Ramza, leading him to cruelly slay Delita's sister, for which he is later killed in retaliation.
Accent: Upper-Class British/RP. His voice should convey the sense of hatred and disgust he carries for the common people.

- Arrogant
- Cocky
- Contemptuous
"I'd not believe a word of that fairytale if I were you."
"Hmph. A pox on your pity, indeed."
"Come! I will show you that common blood makes naught but a common man."
The second eldest son of the Beoulve family, and Ramza's older brother.
A man bound by honour and duty, but like many nobles, he is blind to the suffering that afflicts the poor and the weak.
Accent: Any accent is welcome, but I feel Standard American would be ideal in this case. His voice should be a low, confident and serious baritone. He should sound like a military commander who is seasoned in war.

- Military Commander

"The name Beoulve befits brave men who raise their swords in justice's name."
The eldest son of House Beoulve.
While he possesses the colours and inherits the presige of the Beoulve family, he is self-centred, cold, and ruthless, and power-hungry. He will betray and murder anyone–even his own father, for his own gain.
Accent: Ideally, Upper-Class British. American will also do though. He is an adult, but his voice should not be as low as Zalbaag's. His voice is less like that of a warrior, and more like a politician/tactician, since he is a shrewd manipulator. Think Palpatine from Star Wars.

- Intelligent
- Scheming
"What good are rules when even those who enforce them choose not to take heed?"
The younger sister of Delita Heiral, also born of common parentage.
She is sadly used as a pawn and killed in the crossfire between a war against House Beoulve and the rebels of the Corpse Brigade army. Her death inspires Delita to change Ivalice and revolutionise world order.
Accent: Any accent is welcome, as long as it is consistent with Delita's. She should have a soft, delicate, high-voice, since she is kind and innocent, and ends up dying as a sacrificial pawn in the war against the peasant's revolt.
"D-Delita... I'm...sorry..."
The former commander of a peasant cohort that served Ivalice in the Hundred Years' War, now turned renegade and revolutionary who is determined to lead a coup against the aristocracy for their hatred and disregard for the poor whose help they relied on so heavily in the war. Though he is a commoner, he is an honourable man who knows the perils of war, and will put his ideals above all else, since he believes that the end does not justify the means.
Accent: Standard American is ideal in this case. Like Zalbaag, he too is a seasoned militaryman who has seen his fair share of war. He is masculine and confident, but also noble and a born leader.

- baritone

- Battle-hardened

"Why have you kidnapped this girl!?"
"All such tales of gods and their miracles are false."
The sister of Wiegraf, and second-in-command of the Corpse Brigade. She shares every bit as much in Wiegraf's revolutionary sentiment as he does, and is a brave warrior.
Accent: Standard American. Mid-to-Low voice is ideal, since she is a battle-hardened warrior like her brother, and is also serious in combat.
- female young adult
"It may well be you've done no wrong. It is your place in the world that drives my hatred on. You bear the name Beoulve, and that name is my enemy."
An impolite, jaded, veteran assassin and sword-for-hire, his only loyalty extends to those who pay him to do his dirty work.
While at first assigned to escort Princess Ovelia safely, he immediately switches sides when ordered to by Duke Goltanna
Accent: This is interesting, because any choice here could work.
Gafgarion is cold, ruthless, and irreverent towards his superiors, caring for nothing other than his pay. In his gruesome 30+ years of work, there are few things he has not seen or done, and as a result, he has developed a cold bluntness and a grim sense of humour, even in the most dark situations. Like Captain Jack Sparrow or Sandor Clegane, though he lives a rougish lifestyle, he is ironically charming, and hard to hate, because unlike many villains in this game, he does not carry a false sense of righteousness. He just enjoys fighting and making money, and has no time for chivalrous gestures.
- male senior
- Vulgar
- Battle-hardened
- Crude
"A guard-captain in these rain-sodden hinterlands ought not expect such chivalry. We are in employ of the Order, not of it. Our pay does not cover trite courtesies to the likes of you."
"Kill them all! Leave no man standing!"
"...A change in plans. But a contract's still a contract after all!"
A Holy Knight, and trusted friend and bodyguard to Princess Ovelia.
She is aware of how ruthless many nobles can use the weak for their own games, and will gladly offer her life and service to protect the weak and innocent.
Accent: Any accent would be fine here. Agrias is a knight, but she is also tough, stoic and serious, and a great fighter. Her voice should be low–like Milleuda's.
- Fierce
- female young adult
- Resolute
- Determined
- Low-pitched
"Have you no pride–no honour?"
"I see even the noble Order of the Northern Sky cannot rid itself of vulgar knaves."
"Govern your tongue!"
The princess of Ivalice.
She had a miserable upbringing, being at the epicentre of intrigue and ambition for the many scheming nobles who are keen to snatch the throne for Ivalice. Naturally, this has made her timid and afraid. Yet she is graceful and very kind and good-natured.
Accent: Any accent could work. Ovelia's voice should be high-pitched, as she is frail and vulnerable, and dislikes confrontation.
- delicate
- Vulnerable

"I'll not be much longer, Agrias."
The younger sister of Ramza Beoulve, and the only daughter of the Beoulve family.
Like Ramza, Alma is sweet, caring and kind, and uninvolved in the intrigue and political machinations of her elder brothers in the War of The Lions. Sadly, her naïvité makes her a target for the Church of Glabados, who plot to use her in their nefarious ritual to resurrect their long-dead master, Ultima.
Voice: Any accent will do. Her voice, like Ovelia's and Tietra's should be soft and high-pitched.
"To live in an age so wondrous is a blessing—but to live in Ivalice, even more one."
There are several unnamed extras in this game, and I would like them to have various different accents to convey that they are different, and come from outside the castle walls.
Voice: Any casual, generic voice will do and I honestly don't mind which accent really.
"I say we forget this business and run... there's naught for it."
"The Order... They're here!"
"How could you say such a thing? The battle is not yet fought!"
"We mustn't give in to despair! Not until the nobles answer for all that they've wrought!"
