Final Fantasy IX FanDub was a massive (completed) undertaking that launched in 2010. It has become one of the most-watched Final Fantasy FanDubs on YouTube with over 200,000 Views (and climbing). Many of the previous Voice Actors involved have stepped into recurring roles to lend their skills to our Steam Mod. We have also recruited a large number of talented Voice Actors with the intention of filling (a playable) Final Fantasy IX with Voice-Overs. We have a highly organized, well-structured team that is breathing new life into the legendary series.
Disclaimer:
If you are interested in auditioning for this project, you will be expected to commit to a role until completion. We cannot substitute Voice Actors in and out of roles like traditional Fandubs. If you leave the project with commitments still in place, the team will be required to cast a new Voice Actor for that role and re-record all dialog that was previously recorded. If you have a history of poor communications and/or commitments, this may not be the best fit for you. We are very accommodating when it comes to extensions.
Auditions will be assessed based on your level of Voice Acting, the quality of your microphone, and your ability to minimize things like background noise, audio peaking, and quality loss from noise suppression.
Some of our Voice Actors have navigated through the challenges of background noise and room echo by covering a thick blanket over themselves (and their microphones). It really depends on your studio environment.
Most importantly... Have fun. We're not looking for Hollywood-level performances, but as always, the role will be delivered to those who can bring the most truth and authenticity.

Moogles look after Mognet, passing information back and forth between other characters. They also help the main characters with shops, resting inside a tent, and saving the game.

Leader of the Qu in Qu's Marsh and Quina Quen's Master. We are looking for an intelligent, wise, or even a non-exaggerated Tribal or First Nations style of voice. This will be a recurring role.
"Quina, you in darkness. Need some light. World big place. Many many foods. Alexandria just one kingdom. You need go out more, eat other food."
"I only hear about excavation site around this area. This marsh road covered in brush. Maybe there road to excavation site hidden somewhere. Quina might know."
With our Discord currently sitting at over 70 Voice Actors, our project will be limiting male Voice Actors to performers that can demonstrate an extensive amount of character range, excellent room acoustics, and acceptable microphone quality. We are very male-heavy, so any female Voice Actors are encouraged to submit an Audition.
You aren't auditioning for a specific character, but rather the ability to play recurring roles. Your participation may also lead to a permanent placement based on your capabilities. If you are interested in getting involved, simply record these three lines with a noticeable degree of range that demonstrates the best of your abilities/dialects.

We are seeking more female Voice Actors to balance out our recurring cast. Your room treatment must be clear of background noise and room echo. Additionally, if you have a range of character voices, please showcase your skills using the dialog below.

Animators will be modernizing the Final Fantasy IX Title Screen and creating attractive visual material such as YouTube trailers. We may have additional requirements as project development continues. If this is of interest to you, please submit a portfolio of previous work.

Composer will be taking classic tracks from Final Fantasy 9 and modernizing them with their own creative talents. This will be added into the game through the Mod that we are implementing.
