Fandub: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run - Minor Antagonists
Project Overview
Hello everyone! Me and a fellow VA are making a Steel Ball Run fandub and we need your help! We've gotten through the first round of auditions for major characters and now we need minor ones! This is primarily for minor antagonists, but it also includes all minor characters from chapters 1-5 and a few important minor characters. Feel free to audition for as many of these characters as you want as they're all quite minimal, some may only be one or two lines! Roles are in order of appearance.
If you're not familiar with JoJo or are an anime-only fan, no worries, though there will be spoilers!
Storyline:
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run is a manga series following Johnny Joestar and Gyro Zeppeli on a race across the United States of America, with the winner taking home 50 million dollars. Unbeknownst to most participants, the race has an ulterior motive involving the collection of a corpse, implied to be that of Jesus Christ. With the help of this corpse, president Funny Valentine hopes gain it's power and, for lack of a better word, make America great again (lol).
Joestar and Zeppeli must face off against many outlaws, terrorists, and even the president himself to obtain the corpse and win the race. With the corpse's limitless power, paraplegic Johnny hopes to regain his ability to walk. And with the prize money, ex-executioner Gyro plans to save a child in his homeland of Italy who was wrongfully accused and is being sentenced to death.
- Please have a decent mic, try to have as little background noise as possible
- Must have Discord
- There will be some heavy emoting, primarily screaming and crying - people are shot, killed, hit etc. etc. Please make sure you can do this and please warm up your voice before! Look up some warm-ups on YouTube if you don't know any, you'll harm your voice otherwise.
- Please be on time with delivery of lines. We will want to upload on a somewhat consistent schedule and if you're not submitting on time then we may have to recast. This is especially true for the narrator, announcer, Wekapipo and a few others. While these are being called minor characters, that does not mean they have no lines. Many of these characters occur in numerous chapters and speak a lot during said chapters.
Additional Notes:
- AABBCC or ABCABC format is fine.
- Please don't slate auditions and please include your Discord in your audition
- Some auditions may have numerous characters included, it is not required to audition for all characters in each, you can just omit lines for characters you do not wish to audition for
- I need so many background characters that I may cast people for characters they did not audition for if they're small enough. Of course, you may deny the casting.

Narrator for the manga. Will be fairly prevalent throughout the manga and will most likely voice all titles of chapters as well as explanatory information about character backstories.
You could try to voice match the JoJo's narrator but I'll accept anyone if I think the voice suits the role.

There is a total of three tribesmen that speak in the manga. They only appear in chapter one. The chief's voice would be low and senior sounding, while the other tribesmen would have medium-low voices.
Feel free to do numerous takes with different voices as I'd be happy to cast the same person for more than one of these three.

Tribesman 2: He's picking up speed...he's outrunning the horses
Sandman's sister is unnamed and only appears in chapter one and three. Her voice would probably be medium to low, but she does not have a cannon voice that I know of. Do whatever you think suits her!

Announcer for the entire race, will have many comebacks throughout the manga. No voice to match, just do what makes sense for this kind of voice.

I assume this butler is meant to be like Rosas, Suzi Q and Joseph's butler from part 3. You can voice match (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xFAjDTvssKI) but any older male voice works for me. He appears sparingly throughout the manga.

Johnny Joestar's father, appears sparingly throughout the manga during Johnny's flashbacks. He should have a medium voice and sound older.

A young girl who assumingly dates Johnny Joestar for a time. She only appears in chapter 3. She should have a higher pitched voice.

Unnamed character, he looks about 10. He only appears in chapter 3. He should have a high-pitched boyish voice, think Gon from hunter x hunter. He's definitely on the brink of a breakdown during his dialogue.

A middle-aged man, only appears in chapter 3. He's the nurse that takes care of Johnny while he's in the hospital.

Mrs. Robinson is a minor antagonist, he only appears in two chapters. He is a villager of the dessert and does not wield a stand, but instead has learned to manipulate insects to fight off predators.
He has no cannon voice, so do whatever you think suits!

This role includes some screaming (he yells in pain at one point). Please keep this in mind.

The father of L.A. and Andre Boom Boom, a minor antagonist that only shows up in a few chapters. He's an older man but has no cannon voice so do whatever you think suits

The youngest child of the Boom Boom family. He is quite stupid and anxious. His voice it should be medium to high.

A younger Gyro, around 9 years old. He appears once or twice throughout the manga. Think Gon from HXH or Bennett from Genshin for the voice (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Cxewi9da_Q)
13 year old Gyro appears for longer and with many more lines. For his voice do any boyish voice you'd like.

The father of Gyro Zeppeli, he appears many times throughout the manga. He's an older man so a manly/deep voice is preferable.

Minor antagonist, appears in only a few chapters. Oyecomova is a man from Gyro's homeland who came to America to kill Gyro. He wields the stand 'boku no rhythm wo kiitekure' and is able to produce a bomb out of almost anything.
He has no cannon voice so do whatever you think suits him.

Minor antagonist, only appears in one chapter. If possible, I'd adore a voice match to the original Stroheim (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVh2VW5Rv0Y) if not, I would prefer a German accent.

Diego's father, you don't need to voice match the anime Dario, any older male voice will suit. He's a fairly minor character with only a few lines.
He's not a very good father, nor does he care much for his wife.

The mother of Diego Brando. She only appears in one chapter though she does some yelling and crying. She should have a motherly voice. There is some sexual assault in this role as well.

Younger Diego, appears around 8. Only appears in one chapter. Should have a young and boyish voice. There is some screaming/crying in this role as well.

Very minor antagonist, appears in one chapter. He is a geologist and paleontologist that wields the stand 'scary monsters.' With this, he transforms people into dinosaurs and uses them to attack.
I'd like a flamboyant voice for this one, something that suits his look.

Very minor character, he only really appears once or twice, though he does have a good amount of lines when he does appear. He's older, you definitely could do a Spanish accent if you wish but it is not needed.

He's an older man with a deep voice, appears in 3 chapters (chapter 33-35) as a minor antagonist. He wields the stand Mandom which is quite similar to Diavolo's King Crimson. He prides himself on his manliness, terrorizing people with his stand until they are able to kill him.

Minor antagonist, only appears in 3 chapters. He is one of the president's henchmen and wields the stand 'catch the rainbow.'
He has no cannon voice but his voice should be medium to high pitched. He speaks somewhat apathetically.

Norisuke is a competitor in the race as well as the head of the Higashikata household. He is an elderly man and his voice should reflect that.

The elder brother of Johnny Joestar. He looks around 14 during the manga. He only appears in a few chapters. He, as well as Johnny, is a jockey. He unfortunately dies later in the manga.
He has no cannon voice, but I'd like something boyish.

Scarlet is the president's wife and appears only in two chapters. However, she does have a lot of lines. Her voice should be deeper and somewhat seductive. She does do some screaming in this as well.

While Wekapipo is considered minor, he appears in over 20 chapters and has a lot of lines. If you're auditioning for him, please keep this in mind.
He is a spin user from Italy who was exiled for the murder of his sister's abuser/husband. He is originally an antagonist but later becomes an ally.
He does have a cannon voice (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4IpJO_ifMnk) but an exact match is not required.

Magent Magent is a minor antagonist that appears in around 10 chapters. He is a stand user and wields the fully defensive stand, 20th century boy. He was simply hired by the president to take out Gyro and Johnny and has no further reason in doing so.
He does not have a cannon voice, do whatever you think suits the character's look.
