Fallout: The Frontier Casting Call Round 24
Project Overview
What is Fallout The Frontier?
Fallout The Frontier is a DLC sized quest mod for Fallout New Vegas that showcases a power struggle between three factions (The NCR Exiles, The Northern Legion, and the Crusaders), over post-apocalyptic Portland. This mod features a completely new story, gameplay features, and places within the Fallout world. We are planning to release sometime this year on both Steam and NexusMods. We currently are being secretive with the more fine details of our story and elements in public posts such as this casting call.
Moreover, our mod has major technical achievements of modding such as better vertibirds, drivable vehicles, usable tanks, new factions, space combat, new enemies, new creatures, new weapons, new gameplay, dynamic weather, and new FX.
Requirements for Auditioning Voice Actors:
We are currently looking for 18 years of age or older voice actresses and actors with at least a Blue Yeti mic, a fair amount of voice acting or real-life acting experience, a pop filter, the ability to name files correctly based on information from either a Spreadsheet or a Google Doc, and the ability to do basic audio processing.
Generally speaking, we'd prefer auditioning voice actresses and actors have a mic set up equivalent to or better than an AT2020 XLR set up.
Instructions for Auditioning Voice Actors:
We request that all VAs who are interested are also able to communicate and send/receive files through Discord servers and DMs. On Discord, you will be communicating with me (@ACTIONFIGHTER11#2791) via DMs or the Frontier VA Server's public chat. If you are cast, you will receive your lines within a week through discord along with recording instructions, deadline, accent specifications, character bios, and line directions.
If you do request to communicate with us through Email or another communication software, please send a private message to my profile on Casting Call Club and explain your situation. I will work with you via CCC Private Messaging to find a solution.
For all characters, we expect lines to be sent back following the correct organization and formatting specified during DM conversation within a month of receiving the script. If recording your lines takes more than a month, please notify me as soon as possible via Discord DMs and we can work out a solution.
If you do not notify me of the possibility that a one month turn around time is not enough when that is the case, I will be proceeding with the standard procedure by expecting line submissions within a month of receiving the script. If you are cast and have any complications, please notify myself via Discord DMs as soon as possible. Additionally, parts of our development such as Legion and NCR main quest content is in flux, which means certain characters from those parts of development may receive more lines to record after the initial script sending. These characters will have a tag of (IN FLUX) next to their name. If you are auditioning for an In Flux Character, please be ready to receive lines in batches separated by varied periods of time once you are cast as the VA for him/her.
Lead characters will have over 100 lines. (If you are cast or auditioning for a major character, make sure you have enough time set aside for recording.) Supporting characters will have between 100 lines and 20 lines. Minor characters will have between 20 lines and 10 lines. Extra characters will have less than 10 lines.
Non-human characters that require significant audio effects or modulation will have a special tag in their name. Pre - Existing Fallout Franchise Characters that require voice actors who can impersonate the original voice files from the Fallout games they appear in will have a (Needs Impersonator) tag next to their name. Non-human characters include ghouls, robots, and super mutants. Any filters involved like gas masks or power armor helmets will not need to be done by voice actors or be added to the audition files. We mention them just as a reference for your own convenience. Unless we specify a specific accent, all characters, no matter what species, are to have the regular North American accent.
Due to the number of auditions per day that I need to process, I am requesting that anyone who auditions for a ghoul character for this casting call and moving forward, provides a ghoul rasp within their auditions for said character. Examples of the ghoul rasp are provided in the descriptions of these characters in the form of a link to a video. You can also lookup how ghoul rasps sound in Fallout 3, New Vegas, and 4. If you do not provide a ghoul rasp for an audition to a ghoul character, I will refuse to look over that audition.
You should record all 3 audition lines included for each character. For each audition line, submit only one take for review. Be sure to follow the scene context and line instructions provided for the audition line. You should be recording through an audio recording software like Audacity or Adobe Audition. You should export and submit your audition as a .wav audio file with the settings of 44.1 kHz, 16 bits, and mono recording format. You do not need to limit yourself in the amount of characters you audition for. In some cases, we go ahead and cast a voice actor for two roles if they provide effective and different sounding performances for both.
If you get cast, but we lose contact with you for over a month without notice and with no ability to reach you, we will usually open your role again and cast someone else.
Once the deadline date is reached for a certain batch of characters, we will no longer accept more auditions for the specified roles within that batch. Over the next week or so, we will go over the submitted auditions and cast our characters.
CCC will automatically send you a message if you get cast. Additionally, we will send a private message to your CCC profile containing information on how to join a discord server where voice acting for the Frontier is managed. If there are any complications preventing that, please respond to our private message as soon as possible and we will work out solutions with you.
Final Message for Auditioning Voice Actors:
For those that audition and don’t make the cut, don’t lose heart as there are more characters to be up for grabs on future rounds of casting. If you'd like to follow future casting rounds for this project, please PM me on CCC; future rounds will be hosted on different casting call pages in light of Casting Call Club's updated policy regarding deadline extensions. If a race/gender combination is not listed that you might want to try, send me a PM on CCC!
Best of luck! I look forward to hearing your great auditions!

Fallout The Frontier CCC Casting Call Round 24 Starts Now!
Hey guys! Round 24 of The Frontier CCC Casting Call is up and running. We are casting for 5 new characters and 3 characters (Juno, Mercury Runner, and Jupe) from the previous round whom we’d like to see more auditions for. In particular, we’d like to point out Juno, Mercury Runner, and Jupe, who are Trochili characters that still need to be cast. They are all Lizard people so the way they speak is very particular. Please pay special attention to the instructions mentioned for each character regarding their use of sibilants / “s’s” as well as suitable references for their voice. Also, due to the amount of auditions we receive, auditions with severe audio quality (background noise or mic quality) problems will be automatically disqualified. Please also make sure to remove as much static background noise from your auditions as possible as well as remove unnecessary blanks in audio between the audition line readings. We hope that everyone who auditioned, casted or not, gets a learning experience at least from their audition but we also ask that participants meet the requirements. This casting call should be used by voice actors that meet this casting call’s requirements and not beginner voice actors as a learning experience. We’d also like to mention that as we will be having each round of casting have its own separate casting page in order to comply with the new CCC deadline regulations, please be aware that new characters for future casting rounds will not be posted on this specific or previous Frontier CCC listings. To be in the loop for future casting rounds, PM me here on CCC so I can message you when we have another round up or just keep an eye out on the front page of CCC. The rules present from the previous round still apply here. The deadline for submitting auditions is August 4th, 2020. If you have any questions about the casting call, contact me via CCC DMs.
You are a mercenary who's long since given up the job and now spend most of your time drinking alone in the bar, drowning your sorrows and past regrets in alcohol. The amount of people you've wronged and the violence you've wrought has made you numb to almost any form of joy; you have a very pessimistic perception of the world. Donovan is a companion in our mod so a wide range of emotions and volumes will be required in deliveries.
Record all audition lines while referring to the notes below for each line and do one take of each line.
For the first audition line, you are being asked to right the wrongs you've committed in the past. You're quite tired of looking back. All you see are mountains that you're far too exhausted and ill-equipped to overcome. You hope that when the courier faces a similar situation as yourself, he/she doesn't decide to play the hero as that can only end in suffering.
For the second audition line, the courier is trying to be optimistic about your abilities to turn your life around. Moreover, you've committed to some efforts to amend some past mistakes, but all have blown up in your face. You're quite upset now in all honesty. You really want the courier to know how fruitless you feel all these recent efforts are. You can yell a bit here.
For the third audition line, you are in the middle of an intense firefight and just ran out of ammo. You are yelling across the battlefield to the courier while gunfire fills the air. Emotionally, you're a bit pissed that you've run out because you really want to kill these assholes that are pinning you and the courier.
I'm a little too old to play a vigilante, kid. Besides, what good would that do now?
Just one big trail of blood. That's my whole legacy. So tell me, what's the point? Huh?
I'm out of ammo!
You're a former member of the Mojave Brotherhood of Steel who fled north during the NCR-Brotherhood war. In that time, you've never encountered any other brothers or sisters - for all you know, they've been eradicated. Still, whispers of this religious order called the Crusaders have you curious if any familiar faces may be among their ranks. Moreover, you have been searching for miles on end for your lost love.
Record all audition lines while referring to the notes below for each line and do one take of each line.
For the audition line, you've begun to trust the courier and are willing to disclose some personal details. This isn't easy for you considering most people you've encountered just want to take your tech or kill you. Also, the more you talk about this motivation, the more you begin to laugh at yourself for buying into a happy ending, and everyone knows the wastes aren't known for those.
I suppose there's no harm in reliving it for a few moments. It might sound hopelessly romantic, even foolish, but I've been searching for my lost love.
Although your family has given up on the existence of an Enclave faction existing in the Frontier, you have not. You are determined to reach out to a supposedly existing group of Enclave personnel in order to pursue the ultimate goal: rebuilding America. In terms of personality, you're generally a hopeful, kind, and well-meaning guy, not at all the stereotypical portrayal of an Enclave member or supporter.
Record all audition lines while referring to the notes below for each line and do one take of each line.
For the audition line, you are absolutely confident that what your doing isn't pointless and that you will find the Enclave. You're also quite happy to talk to someone who won't dismiss you as crazy right off the bat.
I'm trying to contact the Portland Enclave. They went dark years ago without saying why. My dad thinks they're gone, but I know they're still out there.
Vegas born and raised, you’re a bartender complete with all the sleaze one could expect a thoroughbred Mojave boy to have. The establishment you are working at is a strip bar frequented by mercenaries.
Record all audition lines while referring to the notes below for each line and do one take of each line.
For the first audition line, you are being asked if you've ever been to Vegas. You obviously have very fond memories of the glamourous life of New Vegas. Just thinking about it gets you incredibly giddy; you forgot you're stuck in the middle of a frozen wasteland serving drinks to sleazy killers.
For the second audition line, you are telling a story of someone that's frequented the bar in the past who caused quite a shitstorm and was clearly crazy. Just thinking about how and the way she lashed out at your regulars one night before cackling like a maniac still gives you the creeps. The more you talk about it, the less you want to continue. There aren't too many instances where your confident aura drops, but this is one of them. Take your time with this line as you're recalling a vivid memory.
Been there? That's my hometown! Ahhh, good ol' Vegas! You know what I love about it? No. Fucking. Snow.
I ain't heard of her since, thankfully. I've seen some shit in my day, but she made me believe demons are real things. Mind changing subjects?
You’re a member of the Ushers, a secretive sub-faction within the Crusaders; you're even trying to hide your purpose from the leader of the Crusaders. You are highly dedicated to your cause and suspicious of those outside your circle.
Record all audition lines while referring to the notes below for each line and do one take of each line.
For the first audition line, you are quite surprised and amused at the courier's naivety. The first lesson of the wasteland is never to trust anyone completely.
For the second audition line, you just had your legs broken by the courier. You are obviously in a great deal of pain with each word you deliver being incredibly pained. That does not stop you from being as angry and vile towards the courier as possible.
For the third audition line, the context is that your lover does not believe in your mission with the Ushers and is actively opposed to your efforts. Upon the courier pointing out the existence of this conflict, you begrudgingly have to admit this is a painful dilemma but that causes you to strengthen your own internal resolve.
Oh yes, let me tell you, a gentile I met literally five seconds ago, my entire personal history.
Damn you! Burn in the fires of hell!
And I am worried about the soul of the wasteland. That out-weighs our love by a fair margin.
Foreword: This character was present in the previous casting round but I'd like to see more auditions for her and thus she is being added as a character for this casting round. Auditions made in the previous round will be considered as well.
Firstly, to know Juno, one must know she is part of the Trochili, a tribe of vault dwelling lizard people that were originally feared barbarians but now spend their time trading and taking drugs, partying it up, raiding settlements, trading weapons, and mass fornicating. They are usually extremely high and chilled out. However, Juno, the queen of the Trochili is far more intelligent and organized with her leadership than her surface-level behavior lets on.
With some Trochili such as Juno, they will often overuse sibilants in between their words. In other words, they will often over annunciate and add a lot of "s" sounds when speaking; they sound like snakes. Moreover, this means the extra "s's" within lines are there on purpose and to be annunciated. For a reference, I'd like a voice that's a mix between Kaa from Jungle Book Animated Version (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nh5kxentrY0) and a higher-pitched interpretation of the Female Argonian from Morrowind (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_xYEfaqpjsc).
Record all audition lines while referring to the notes below for each line and do one take of each line.
For the audition line, you are being repeatedly asked about the background of your species. One question was fine, but five? Now, that's really pushing your hospitality. You wish the humans would just relax and go with the flow of things, rather than persistently trying to work their brains; it's less work right?
You sshumans and your ssquestions. I get you're sscurious, but it gets ssannoying after ssawhile.
Foreword: This character was present in the previous casting round but I'd like to see more auditions for her and thus she is being added as a character for this casting round. Auditions made in the previous round will be considered as well.
Firstly, to know Mercury Runner, one must know she is part of the Trochili, a tribe of vault dwelling lizard people that were originally feared barbarians but now spend their time trading and taking drugs, partying it up, raiding settlements, trading weapons, and mass fornicating. They are usually extremely high and chilled out. Mercury Runner, in particular, is the Trochili's door guard. She's supposed to ensure those who enter the Trochili den from the outside world are peaceful and likable. Unfortunately, she doesn't take her job all that seriously and is easily bribed or distracted.
With some Trochili such as Mercury Runner, they will often overuse sibilants in between their words. In other words, they will often over annunciate and add a lot of "s" sounds when speaking; they sound like snakes. Moreover, this means the extra "s's" within lines are there on purpose and to be annunciated. Record all audition lines while referring to the notes below for each line and do one take of each line.
For the audition line, you are casually listing out the policies for entering the Trochili den. Hopefully, this person doesn't prove to be too much of a hassle. One visitor is already one too many to deal with for you.
Friends of the ssTrochili are ssallowed to sscarry weapons ssfreely. If you sshelp us, you sscould be our friend.
Foreword: This character was present in the previous casting round but we recently had a need to recast and thus he is being added as a character for this casting round. Auditions made in the previous round will be considered as well.
Firstly, to know Jupe, one must know he is part of the Trochili, a tribe of vault dwelling lizard people that were originally feared barbarians but now spend their time trading and taking drugs, partying it up, raiding settlements, trading weapons, and mass fornicating. They are usually extremely high and chilled out. Jupe is the Oldest of the Trochili thanks to a genetic mutation that allows his body to endure far more chems than most. Jupe remembers the Trochili's history but also has a weird obsession with 'god' and is a bit senile.
With some Trochili such as Jupe, they will often overuse sibilants in between their words. In other words, they will often over annunciate and add a lot of "s" sounds when speaking; they sound like snakes. Moreover, this means the extra "s's" within lines are there on purpose and to be annunciated. For a reference, I'd like a voice that's a mix between Kaa from Jungle Book Animated Version (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nh5kxentrY0) and a breathier and older sounding interpretation of the Male Argonian from Morrowind (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hBIGrJGMc0k).
Record all audition lines while referring to the notes below for each line and do one take of each line.
For the audition line, at the beginning (hhhhhh) you are drugged out of your mind before realizing the courier is standing next to you. You quickly snap to your senses and relaxingly greet him/her. You are still as high as a kite.
hhhhhh- Oh hello. I ssapologize, I was busy sstalking to God. Was there sssomething you needed human?
