EMERGENCY RECAST: Finding Nemo - Fish Are Friends Not Food

EMERGENCY RECAST: Finding Nemo - Fish Are Friends Not Food

Project Overview

Salutations! My name is Christian Lizotte, and I am a filmmaker stationed in Modesto, California. One of my favorite pastimes is making unique retellings of beloved animated films and books such as Beastars. My retelling method has a lot to do with creative freedom whenever I work with voice actors in particular. I've always stood by expressive freedom as we can truly see the real and desirable types of voices we need when trying to see how the character might sound. Also, it gives the voice actor the confidence they need to play the part perfectly, which is always ideal when recording your voice actors' lines. Now, after getting to know more about me and my voice acting methods, let's get down to business. When thinking about how I wanted to do this project, I wanted to challenge my video editing abilities. Not only did I want to double the running time of my voice-over productions, but I also wanted to find genuine voice actors to accompany this piece in a better light. This project in question is a scene from the 2003 Pixar animated film, Finding Nemo. If you've seen this preview picture you can tell what's to come. For those who don't however, when Marlin and Dory go to a shark AAA meeting, things go downhill from there. The project's length is expected to be approximately 5 to 6 minutes. However, I understand that some might find this fishy, or might think to themselves, "This is way too good to be true." That is why I will be sending a link to some of my completed works to show you that I am capable of getting things done. Next, let's talk about payback or a means to give back to the voice actors for their help. Sadly, I am not capable of giving every one of my actor's money, but I do have alternate forms of repayment. I can help assist you with video editing and demo reels as I specialize not only with video but with audio as well. Not only that, but all of my voice actors will receive a copy of the completed work for free, as I never intend to make any money off of these. It is purely for entertainment purposes only. Next, I will discuss what forms of contact are available to me. I can be reached on Instagram, Discord, and Facebook. Here are my links for each specific application. Stay safe, and remember that you are loved. Let's make this happen, guys!

Bruce Voice Context: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9JA3itMGig
Bruce is a great white shark who invites Marlin and Dory to come to his ‘’get-together’’ of a party. In actuality, it is a rehabilitation meeting for sharks who’ve taken fish off their menu, a parody of an AAA meeting if you will. He is the founder of this group, and is accompanied by his close peers, Anchor, a hammerhead shark, and Chum, a mako shark. However, when Marlin and Dory come around, a frenzy ensues. For his accent, I would go for a deep, menacing voice, but not so deep that it sounds off-putting. I left a link in the character description so you can get a gist of what I’m looking for. For his voice, kind of make it a little bit growly and billowy to really put this character into perspective. Each line will portray different emotions depending on what situation the character is in! Good luck and I know you are going to do good.

  • [In a menacing, joking like matter] Name's Bruce. lt's all right. l understand. Why trust a shark, right?

  • [Giving a Speech In a Loud, Clear Manner] Right, then. The meeting has officially come to order. Let us all say the pledge.

  • [In a frenzied state of mind] l'm having fish tonight!
