DUST | Minecraft Roleplay
Project Overview
🌵 What is DUST?
DUST is a Minecraft Roleplay project, following the story of two gangs, and the downfall of both over the span of six episodes. The Brooks, a group of younger outlaws, winds up getting in over their heads when they get on the bad side of the Mitchell family, a long-running gang of cowboys, notorious through the west.
This casting call is looking to cast the members of the Mitchell family, a more rough, beat-up, and overall experienced gang, veterans of the west and near-pioneers of the robbery.
🤠 What will I need to know about this project?
- You do NOT need Minecraft! This is all just voice work.
- Lines will need to be done fast. We're planning to release all 6 episodes at once, meaning there will be very short deadlines.
- Our requirements are as follows
- Quality Microphone (anything above a snowball. as long as you have a clear voice and background, you should be fine.)
- Be fine with light cursing. (in the end, it's minecraft, kids will watch this, so the cursing isn't too heavy, but some stuff pops up occasionally.)
- Be able to hold a consistent voice. (since it's a wild west story, we're wanting more country type accents, but if you're unable to hold that voice for a recording, we may need to recast.)
📝 One last thing...
As much as I wish I could offer more for this project, as a very small channel, I can't do so. I hope the pay I am able to offer is at least something better than the usual free/no-pay Minecraft roleplay casting.

It was a bit difficult to cast in the end, since pretty much everyone had some phenomenal auditions, but I'm very happy with what we ended up with! Thank you for your interest in DUST!
Tom Mitchell is the second oldest brother of the gang, aged at around 39 years old. He's the brawn of the brothers, with a mind-set of shoot first, think later. Despite this mindset though, he still does have some strategy at times, and doesn't get too hot-headed or tempered. He's a wise man, but doesn't use that knowledge a lot of the time.
(train robbery, to conductor) A'right, buddy. Make it simple, stop the train, make a run for it. Don't try anything sudden.
(pursuit) Come on, boys! They're right ahead!
(the two gangs are at a stand-off, Tom decides to shoot.) God damnit, just get it over with already!
Ian Mitchell is the middle brother, about 33 years old. He's a bit of a drinker, a little more laid back from the standard outlaw activities. Ian is far from his prime, and would rather spend his days drinking and gambling at the saloon rather than robbing them.
(riding next to the train they're all about to rob.) What's the plan, Wayne? Can't just go in shootin', you know how that turns out!
(street fight, taunting opponent) What can I say? Things happen, people die. And if anything, that little rodent deserved it!
(ratting out his own gang, tired) Tell ya what, I been looking for my way out. Believe after they bust me out'a here, they're taking a hit on the bank 'round here. Catch em there, take some loot y'selves, and there you go.
William Mitchell is the second youngest of the brothers, at an age of 29, only in the gang out of fear for his family name. He still tries to pitch in and keep himself alive, but he's a bit more timid and not cut out for the life of a cowboy. He's also a bit quieter and doesn't speak up as much, meaning he has less lines than the rest.
(william and donald have a teenager pinned up against a tree) Come on, kid, just give us what we're asking for and you'll be fine. Doesn't take much.
(being held with a gun to the head) You don't have to do this! We'll give you what you want just let me go! Please!
(anxious but covering it) Any one of us know where Wayne's at? Haven't seen him since we got on.
Donald Mitchell is the youngest of the brothers, sitting at the age of 26. He's the most blood-thirsty of the brothers, letting rage grasp him easily. He's very hot-headed and short-tempered. Rather than "shoot first, think later", he instead works just on the "shoot first" part.
(train robbery) Hands up everyone, no sudden movements, all belongings in the bags. Let's not make this complicated now.
(spotting the rival gang) Over there! The bastards that killed him! Saddle up, let's ride!
(desperate, monologue) You're no better than all of us! Both of us just killers in the end, you just keep trying to one-up the score!
Chester Edwards, 36, is the one outlier in the Mitchell Brothers, having not been related. However, he's got one hell of an aim, and serves as a great sharpshooter for the brothers, so he tags along with them. Out of the whole group, he's pretty much the smartest remaining, since even though he's not the most educated, he at least has the patience and fight knowledge. For this character, I'm looking for either the standard western accent or an Australian accent. Either will work.
(asked about the whereabouts of a gang member) Beats me, he said he was going to check up through the train and meet us at the cars while we grabbed the bonds.
(other gang is hiding nearby, chester is yelling to draw them out) This isn't a fight you folk wanna play, promise. Come on out, give up, and we'll all be cheery.
(riding next to fellow member) Looks like the area's clear, what's our plan?
