ABOUT DREAMSCAPE
Dreamscape is a new Minecraft roleplay created by MarshieMonarch (that's me!) and the MarshieMonarch Production Crew. Join us in creating an all new adventure, taking features from the story-telling of Persona 5 and the Legend of Zelda.
Dreamscape follows the perspective of a young girl who lives a pretty ordinary life, until she stumbles across a portal in a forest. When she enters it on a whim, she finds herself in a completely new world filled with fantastical creatures and magic. While exploring her new reality, she even finds an ominous book capable of creating anything drawn or written inside it. Using the power of her newfound book and the help of her new friends, Dimi has to find her way home through a fantastical and often comedic adventure.
Dreamscape is a rewritten, new and improved MCRP version of a game I wanted to create a long time ago called Dimi. Dimi (now known as Dreamscape) has been very close to my heart for several years and I'm very excited to finally be able to produce it with my new team.
REQUIREMENTS
You must be 16 years old or older to audition and be a part of the production.
You MUST have Discord. This is just to make it easier to contact everyone at once. (feel free to leave your discord in your audition)
Please be committed. This will be a long term project that may span over a few months or even years.
Deadlines will be short, do not audition if you are not comfortable with recording lines within a week or less. We will accommodate if you are unavailable as long as you communicate with us beforehand
You must have a good microphone. No background noise or muffling, please.
WHEN AUDITIONING
Please introduce yourself before reading the lines! We wanna get to know you!
Do multiple takes (2 - 3 takes) in AABBCC format using a different way of saying it each time. Whether it be a different voice or a different form of emotion.
Make sure you speak clearly. We want to be able to understand what you are saying.
Feel free to adlib a bit. Read the full lines first but if you want to add something to them then go for it.
Put emotion into your lines. You're playing a character with feelings and personality, not reading a book.

Miranda is a gentle and sweet priestess that is very good at playing coy. She sounds like someone you can trust, but your instincts scream to do otherwise. No one really knows what her life was before she became a sister, so there's likely something she's trying to escape.
I'm looking for someone with a very smooth and delicate voice. Miranda can front as being pretty sure of herself and can try to behave a bit suspiciously, but she really is just a genuinely sweet person. Sound alluring as much as you can, and when she's flustered, make her sound cute and adorable.
(playful, apologetic) Oh- my apologies. I hope I didn't intrude, ehehe~!
(sweet, slightly sultry) Rumor has it that I have you to thank for saving my life. Well... thank you, "hero." *closed-mouth giggle*
(embarrassed, frantic) Wh-what?! OH MY GOD, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!
An excited bundle of curiosity and wonder who is constantly sticking their whiskers in places they shouldn't be. As the cabin boy on their ship, this cat-person is a diligent worker, but they're determined to prove themselves as a true adventurer on the high seas.
(intrigued, concerned but still upbeat) Hey, you okay down there? Didja scrape your knee? Crying doesn’t help- believe me, I've tried. I mean, sometimes it does! But doesn't make it hurt any less, soooo...
(confrontational, a little pouty) OI, PUNK! I was here first! No fair!
(excited) Ooh, ooh, lemme at 'em! I can take 'em- promise! Gimme a chance, Captain! These claws are itching for a fight!
A charming and fashionable noble with confidence and charisma that can move mountains. There’s something more serious and sinister beneath.
(Coy, not too cocky or punchable) Of course you’re pleased to meet me, who wouldn’t be?
(Very pleased with himself, lazy) Your problems are today’s issue, but they don’t HAVE to be solved by me, now do they~?
(Solemn, resigned.) …Don’t mistake me, this is as much a torment for me as it is you, pet.
Alexander is a stuck-up prince that reeks of entitlement. He's always overly confident in his abilities, even when he shouldn't be. He always acts like he has something to prove and holds an air of superiority over "ruffians" and the like.
I don't want stereotypical posh for Alexander's voice, though I do want someone who knows how to carry themself. He's rather arrogant, which means he typically ends up in comedic situations, so he should have a wide range of emotions despite sounding smooth. Think along the lines of Nezha (dub) from Monkie Kid.
(haughty) Honestly, you're quite lucky I've decided to donate my services to your cause. Otherwise, I wouldn't be caught dead with a HOOLIGAN like you.
(serious, contemplation) There's more at play than I originally thought. Hm... There has to be something that connects all the pieces together.
(comedic shouting that turns into shrieking) Just because someone told you to do it DOESN'T MEAN YOU SHOULD!
Alice is a tough fire mage, who is a little bit hot headed. She has a "devil-may-care" attitude and always looks out for #1: herself. She's incredibly strong in a fight, but there are several situations where she's in way over her head. After all, she's still just a human. Albeit, a human with the uncanny ability to torch everything around her when she gets angry.
Looking for someone with high energy who isn't afraid to get loud. Alice is a very cocky and loud character, so she should constantly almost always have a bit of fire in all of her lines. Think of Miruko (dub) from MHA for vocal reference.
(laughing, rudely teasing) Hahaha~! Oh, that's rich. YOU want MY help with training? Get real.
(slightly panicked) Dude, could you cool it for just like- five seconds?! I'm kinda freaking out here!
(shouting, enraged) STOP RUNNING, YOU COWARD! I'LL TEACH YOU A LESSON YOU WON'T FORGET!
Sarah is a confident and sassy leader of a gang. She does as she pleases, robbing and taking indiscriminately from whoever she pleases. Sarah knows her worth and can seem pretty intimidating at first. But, at the end of the day she's a bit of a mess.
I'm looking for someone who can sound harsh and rugged. Sarah's got a lot to prove to be a female gang leader, so she doesn't pull any punches in that regard. However, feel free to have her casual, laid-back demeanor shine through wherever possible.
(confident, mischievous) Hah. Welcome to the gang, newbie. How 'bout I show you around~?
(confused, angry) What the heck is going on in here?! What's with all the smoke and the screaming?!
(shouting out commands) CAN I GET SOME HELP OVER HERE!? HEY, YOU TWO! QUIT MESSING AROUND AND FIX THESE DAMAGES!
A young and adventurous man who thinks more with his heart than his head. He's a skilled fighter, although he certainly doesn't look the part. He has his serious moments but most of the time he's just a big goofball that typically doesn't think before acting.
I have no specific voice in mind but would prefer someone who is energetic and loud with a medium vocal range. A good example of how I imagine the character is like Kirishima from MHA
(Playful, teasing) Aww, c'mon buddy! Y'know you can't be mad at me forever. Just look at this face, how can you hate it?
(Disbelief) I can't believe I just lied to them with a straight face. What is wrong with me??
(Overwhelmed, panicked) Okay okay!! You take the bow and I'll take my sword! Wait- This is MY sword! WHY DIDN'T I START WITH THIS???
Haris is a gruff, older man. His voice is able to command an entire room, but when he normally talks there is a softness to him. There is oddly a warmth to his voice that doesn’t necessarily translate into what he says.
Looking for someone who does not necessarily need to raise their voice all the time, but can still sound commanding. Haris should still be capable of shouting, but all of his lines should command an air of respect. Try to reference Vander from Arcane for his voice.
(yelling, frustrated) SOMEBODY- GET HIM.
(calm, but firm) Sit down... Now, tell me... where on Earth do you get off on snooping in my home?
(Dejected) In this world it’s kill or be killed. So which would you rather play? The cat... or the mouse?
Warren is a cold and calculated private investigator for a noble family. He often looks into things on behalf of the family he works for, in addition to studying magic in his free time. He uses this magic to try to apprehend criminals in an effort to redeem his past mistakes.
Warren should sound a bit harsh and cold, even when he's being witty. He has an undertone of morality and empathy however, though he's too stubborn to show signs that he does actually care. Try to reference Sebastian from Black Butler (dub) for the voice, though Warren should sound a bit older and more serious.
Heh… Innocent? From what I just saw just now, you just crash landed into the most anti-magical village this kingdom has to offer. Judging by the feathers on your back, it looks to me that you can consider yourself a fugitive here.
(with disdain) Great, I’m losing daylight… You should be able to find some help in the next town over. I have better things to do other than be distracted by the likes of you.

Luna is a ball of sunshine (ironic for her name). She's kind, sometimes too kind for her own good, and a friend to all. She can be a little ditzy at times, getting caught up in her own little world, but even still she's determined and stubborn to get a job done.
As for her voice I would prefer a higher pitch but I won't turn my nose at a medium or low voice. I need someone who is energetic and isn't afraid to get a bit loud with her character.
(Happy, excited) C'mon guys! The festival is starting soon, I don't wanna be late!
(a bit confused) Hmm... that's a bit of a strange ingredient for a cake, don't you think?
(Panicked, screaming) EEP!! What is that thing?? Get rid of it!!!
Phineas is an old man with big- and often unrealistic ideas. He is a very larger than life guy, and can flip from being mellow to rambling excitedly about some new project of his. People around him tend to write him off as being a kooky old man, which is partially true, however he pays it no mind.
For this character I’m looking for someone who can play an older person, while still being able to showcase a wide range of emotions. As for sound, a good reference would be a mix between Heimerdinger (Arcane) and Maurice (Beauty and The Beast 1991).
(Wise, Instructional) Now if you’re going to learn anything- it’s that no idea is a bad idea.
(Unbothered, Playful) Oh- who cares what they think. I’m old- not stupid.
(Excited) There you are, young one, come now. I had a BRILLIANT idea while sharpening my hammer!
Oliver is an independent and aloof hunter. He prefers to spend a lot of time alone, but often finds himself getting mixed up in things he tries to avoid. His personality is very laid back, as he is not one to anger easily. Has a tendency to tease and play around, but is self-aware and knows when to be serious.
In terms of voice, I’m looking for someone who can display a wide variety of emotions and has the ability to shout when necessary. Mid to upper vocal range.
(Serious, Instructional) Rule number 1. Keep your eyes on the prize. If you want something, hold onto it and don’t let anyone- and I mean ANYONE- take it from you.
(Teasing, Playful) Oooh- that one looked like it hurt.

An energetic merchant travelling around the world selling her home-made wares to anyone who is interested. She is the type of gal to have a pep in her step, but can also be short-tempered, especially when questioned about her young age and its supposed effect on her skill.
Looking for a passionate medium to medium high-ranged female voice.
(confused, concerned) Hey, you okay? You're not lost, are you? Do you need, like, help or something?
(angry, shouting) What were you thinking?! You could've gotten yourself killed out there!
