What is this project?
Dragon Ball Z: The Majin Uub Saga is an audiodrama intended to serve as a fan-produced followup to the hit anime series, Dragon Ball!
How long will it be?
The intended length will be only 5 parts, each at 30 minutes in length. They will released episodically on YouTube and Soundcloud.
All going well, we hope to extend the series a bit longer, provided actors continue to be available.
Who can audition?
Anyone can audition! Don't worry if you haven't done much voicework or if you don't have a great recording setup. Audio will be cleaned and mixed with sound effects & score provided by the SheonGT team. Auditions close APRIL 30th, 2019

STORY:
Age 774: With the help of the people of Earth, legendary warrior Goku defeats Majin Buu with a massive Spirit Bomb! Using the Dragon Balls, Goku & co wish that the rest of the world forget about Buu and the terror he brought upon them. They also wished that if Majin Buu's power ever returned, it would be for good instead of evil. An era of beautiful peace fell upon Goku, his grown son Gohan, young son Goten, and his rival Vegeta, his wife and son Bulma and Trunks.
Age 784: Goku continued to train. Gohan settled down with his high school sweetheart, Videl, and had a daughter named Pan. Goten and Trunks, best friends, became teenagers. But Majin Buu, who they thought was long gone, had returned. More of an evil force of nature than a physical being, even after being killed, Buu had been reincarnated!
Goku sought out Majin Buu's new form at the 28th World Martial Arts Tournament, where Goten, Trunks, and even little Pan also competed! He found that Buu had become a scrawny little boy from a poor village by the name of Uub.
Reluctant to fight, Uub was after the tournament's prize money for his village. Goku went up against the boy, and taunted Uub until the rage inside Uub took over, drawing out a massive amount of power that kept Goku on his toes!
Always looking for stronger and stronger fighters, Goku knew that, if trained properly, Uub could use the power of the demon he came from to surpass even Goku himself! Goku also knew he wouldn't be around forever, and needed a successor. So off he went with Uub to train, far away from his family and friends!
Age 787: Goku & Uub have trained for a long time! The once timid Uub is now a strong, outgoing young man. The time starts to come that Uub naturally wants to rebel against the father figure of Goku! This all comes to a head when Babidi, who resurrected Majin Buu in the first place, communicates with Uub all the way from Hell.
The sinister warlock Babidi and his father Bibidi tempt and tease Uub with a promise of a dark power within. This, of course, is the power of the forbidden MAJIN BUU!
Will Uub give in to the wily charms of Babidi? Will Goku be surpassed by his own student? Will the NUMBER 1 greatest martial artist of all time, MR. SATAN, save the world again?!

DRAGON BALL Z: THE MAJIN UUB SAGA
Have some fun with this role! Ultimately the tone of the narrator, at least for Dragon Ball, sets the tone of the series. Takes in the styles of Kyle Hebert, Dale Kelly, Andy Chandler, and Doc Morgan are welcome. But creating your own take is highly encouraged. Diction and enthusiasm!
Last time on Dragon Ball Z, Goku, in search of greater and greater opponents, found himself drawn to an unassuming village boy, Uub!
But this was no ordinary farmhand! Goku could sense that this boy was none other than the reincarnation of the sinister spirit Majin Buu!
After a neck and neck sparring match, Goku knew that the future of the Earth lay in the hands of none other than Uub! After returning to his village, Goku and his diligent disciple trained hard, and played even harder for three peaceful years.
Though in his Middle Ages, you couldn’t tell that this youthful, energetic martial artist is a day past 30! Cheerful, fun-loving, and full of spirit, Goku loves a great fight almost as much as he loves to eat! When push comes to shove, he puts foes in their place with his race’s trademark transformation: the Super Saiyan
After your training’s finished, and you’ve become flawless, how about we fight again so we can test our powers on each other?

Uub, this isn’t what you want. What your village would want. Remember? I’m not going to let you hurt anyone anymore—!
This southern good ol’ boy, although unsure at first, has been brought out of his shell by Goku, his teacher and role model, who’s been training him for the last three years. Although he sounds like a bit of a hick, nothing’s lost on this boy, a reincarnation of the centuries old evil demon, Majin Buu. Uub was supposed to turn out leagues nicer than Buu’s previous forms, and true enough- until tempting incidents from beyond the world of the living start to tease out more and more of his dormant dark side, which Goku is not ready to control.
The primary antagonist of the series, though audiences are supposed to feel sympathy for him and laugh with him at times.
I-i just don’ know if I have it in me, Goku. ‘Mean, I appreciate the trainin’ ‘n’ all, heck, my village couldn’t survive without you & Mr. Satan helpin out. But this’s just too much!
Bold’ve ya to assume you can do anything about it, Goku. You taught me ever’thing you know, an’ I’ve got even more on top a that, thanks ta some, ahaha, spiritual sessions on the side.

This walking Napoleon complex with a chip in his shoulder the size of the sun, is one of Goku’s oldest and greatest rivals. Although he ended DBZ calling Goku a friend (out of earshot of course) tensions flare again as Goku’s intense training signals the destruction of the Earth. His voice is gruff and I pretty much want Chris Sabat’s interpretation.
Damn it, Kakarot! This was your urchin boy, wasn’t it?
Well, I’ve had enough. Trunks, go tell that.. maggot where he can stick it, or else I’ll tear that mohawk out tuft by tuft!
Impossible! I am the Prince of all Saiyans! No mere child could get the best of me! It’s bad enough having to put up with Kakarot, and his boys, but this one too? What is wrong with me?!
This is Trunks, the son of Vegeta and his wife Bulma. Due to Bulma’s immense fortune, Trunks grew up not only in a time of relative peace, but in great luxury and prosperity for his family. Now the young twenty-something, when not practicing the blade or honing his Super Saiyan power, is preparing to take over as CEO of his Mom’s company, Capsule Corporation.

Yello, you’ve got Trunks on the line. Oh, hi mom! Uh-huh! Dad did whAt? Okay. I’ll be right over.
Hey, Goten! If we want any chance of putting a dent in this guy, we’re gonna have to fuse!
Gohan, Goku’s firstborn son, and once the strongest fighter on Earth, has settled into family wife with his spunky high school sweetheart, Videl. He’s even become a brainiac scholar, just like his mother always wanted. Videl and Gohan’s first child, their daughter Pan, is growing up. But Gohan puts up his fists again in order to curb Uub’s appetite for destruction.
Y’know Videl, sometimes I look out over those mountains. I like to imagine my dad’s out there somewhere. Maybe catching fish by hand, or gazing at clouds. Something peaceful.
It’s been a while, but I have to start fighting again. And I’m not talking about the Great Saiyaman (chuckles)
I don’t have another option right now.
Majin Buu! I knew I could sense that same power.
Goten, second son of Goku, grew up alongside Trunks, Vegeta’s son. Together they’ve fused into the warrior, Gotenks. Goten is a fun loving guy who can’t get enough of the girls, and doesn’t take fighting seriously.
Heyyy, Jasmine! About that date tonight, well, I was really excited to go, but something came up. I’m not gonna be able to make it. Sorry!
Uh, yknow, stuff! Aw, Jaz, it’s actually kinda funny. You wouldn’t believe me if I told you! Piccolo, spawn of demon king Piccolo Daimao, was once one of Goku’s greatest foes. But over the years he’s softened up considerably, though he’s still a good fighter. Knows Goku, Gohan, and Vegeta well. Deep voice

Babidi, short, temperamental wizard and master of the dark arts. Resurrected Buu in DBZ after his father Bibidi. Screechy voice.

Bibidi, father to Babidi, but slicker and more level headed than his son, also a wizard, and the original harnessed of Majin Buu’s power, oily, car dealer-like Bibidi easily draws it out of an angsty Uub once again.

The heiress to a massive tech fortune, Bulma's used to always getting what she wants, just like her husband Vegeta. She's bossy because she has to be, with him. Kind if sometimes blunt, but good with tools. Always wants to be where the action is, even if she just has to watch from the sidelines.

A former tyrant, humiliated and defeated by Goku on the planet Namek, and again by Trunks. Hates Saiyans with a burning passion.
Tries to appear upper-class and superior to others, but is wrought with fear and insecurity. Constantly flies off the handle.
Has a posh voice that becomes screechy.
Hatred Bomb? How absurd! Is that some sort of hackneyed version of Goku's pathetic attack?

I have two visions for how this character will be portrayed.
Either the Funimation interpretation done by Dameon Clarke, which sounds like Plankton from Spongebob. Crazy and hammy.
Or like Mr. DeMartino from MTVs Daria. Google it. Very deep, quiet, sarcastic, and sadistic, but flares up in anger on random words.

Lives atop Kami's Lookout, miles above Earth. Life linked to the Dragon Balls.
Voice of a young man. Not a fighter, but has healing powers and can move the Lookout around, for example.
Goku. I see what's going on down there. But I am only the guardian of earth. There's nothing I can do to stop this monster. Only watch from above. I'm... sorry.
What?! The Hyperbolic Time Chamber?

Young daughter of Gohan and Videl. 8 years old as the story starts. With a massive hidden power, Goku urges her to train in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber to become stronger. Each day that passes outside the chamber, equals a year inside of it! Pan shatters all limits of time in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, and manages to last a week in the chamber, exiting as an extremely powerful 15 year old warrior.
Spunky, rebellious and full of heart.
Actress will need to do at least a little bit of young Pan voice but only briefly.
