Project Overview
Hi, Monika here! Welcome to the Literature Club! It's always been a dream of mine to make something special out of the things I love. Now that you're a club member, you can help me make that dream come true in this cute game, and welcome to the Doki Doki Literature Club Fandub!
Doki Doki Literature Club! (DDLC) is a 2017 freeware visual novel developed by American independent game studio Team Salvato for Microsoft Windows, macOS, and Linux. The game was initially distributed through itch.io, and later became available on Steam. The story is told from the perspective of a high school student who reluctantly joins the school's literature club on the insistence of his childhood best friend, and is given the option to romantically pursue three of its four female members. Doki Doki Literature Club! features a non-traditional plot structure with multiple endings and unlockable cutscenes with each of the main characters. Although the game initially appears to be a lighthearted dating simulator, it is in fact a horror game that extensively breaks the fourth wall.
This is a fandub of the original game, featuring both Acts 1 & 2. This is a medium term project that will require a decent amount of investment.
About me!
I'm a non-profit content creator making videos of anime or game fandubs, I currently direct one long term project: 'Project Sekai: A New Voice' and have directed or worked in countless projects in the past, now working on my next project, a full length dub of Doki Doki Literature Club!
About this project!
Quite simply, it will be a complete dub of Doki Doki Literature Club, following Sayori's route in Act 1 & Yuri's in Act 2. Natsuki's story will be covered in separate spin-off videos. I am to make it a professional sounding dub with it's own unique elements to make the watching experience more enjoyable, taking advantage of the video format instead of the original game format.
Rules!
- I expect clear mics with little background noise and no reverb. USB mics are totally fine, I will most likely be adding EQ and a couple of filters to your mics anyways.
- Please use as close to your natural voice as you can get! I don't want an overly cute voice for Sayori and Natsuki - Nor do I want a super forced deep and mature voice for Yuri. These characters are human, I want them to sound like natural humans.
- Please be 16 or above. This game is highly disturbing as it is a psychological horror. There are incredibly dark themes in this game.
- You must be able to conform to deadlines. If things don't go smoothly I can't run a project smoothly. You need to be able to meet the deadlines set. I won't be too harsh which is why I expect you to be able to submit on time.
- When you audition, please do a maximum of 3 takes per audition line. Minimum 2, I want to be able to hear how differently you can express lines and how good you are at hitting emotional beats.

(Observant into relaxed) I see...That's a pretty simple thing to get you in a good mood. But I guess it's always the simple things with you, anyway.
(Somewhat laughing to himself) Hey, Yuri... This might be a silly thought, but... The main character kind of reminds me of you a little bit.
Monika is a main character and the poster girl of Doki Doki Literature Club!. She is the President of the Literature Club and is the game's driving force, directing club members to write poems until the club festival, which enables and develops the characters and story.
Monika is the only character with an implied canon voice, being from the game's ending song "Your Reality"

Sayori is a main character of Doki Doki Literature Club!. She is the Vice President of the Literature Club, the protagonist's childhood friend and a character whom the player can write poems for.

(Passionate, clear headed and fluent)I guess you could say that. But if a story makes me think, or takes me to another world, then I really can't put it down. Surreal horror is often very successful at changing the way you look at the world, if only for a brief moment.
(Snappy yet panicked) W-Wait! There’s a reason why we have such deep and expressive words in our language! It’s the only way to convey complex feelings and meaning the most effectively. Avoiding them is not only unnecessarily limiting yourself...it’s also a waste! You understand that, right?
(Retaliating against Natsuki, aggressive) See?? Just saying that proves my point! Most people learn to get over themselves after they graduate middle school, you know.
