Based on the English Dub Mod of DNF Duel from Jojolione, these auditions are for the Story Mode Portion of the game that is currently in development, and is right now looking to expand into covering the story mode to provide a full, encompassing experience to not only compliment with the game play mod, but to provide a fully covered English language experience for the game (check out the link above to see the mod in action and how it works)!
To keep up with what Jojolione laid down for the main game play mod to keep things consistent like before, this is still not a paid project due to the uncertainty and legal gray area of payment out of IP we do not own this or were hired by officially. That being said though, we are very excited to see how you’ll be able to bring these characters to life, and as always, feel free to share this with other people who you may think would just be as interested!
NOTES & GUIDELINES:
Please do 3 takes of each line when creating and submitting your audition for the character/characters in this listing in 4100-4800 hz in 16-32 bit depth .WAV for auditions (If you are not able to upload in .WAV then you are allowed to upload as .MP3 for the auditions for CCC).
Unlike the game play mod, this will focus a lot more on conversational/expositional dialogue performance and acting, as well as this not being locked down by premade animation (determined by the player pressing next on the dialogue screen or by auto scrolling) so there’s a lot of free timing involved (with the exception of Nemyr who has mouth flaps, but for now focus on the performance first for her before worrying about said mouth flaps).
You are welcome to audition for multiple parts!
Audio files for both Japanese and Korean will be available as an optional reference and to help give an idea of the character of how the character sounds like, but don’t get caught up in trying to imitate them directly, but to understand their tone. The audition lines are a combination of separated lines from different chapters to help build a better performance in your audition, and to see how well you transition quickly from different beats/emotions.The game takes place in a fantasy setting with an anime style, so using that as a basis to help push your performance may help. Optional accents outside of Midwestern American like European or Asian are also welcome, and can be used as an optional take.
While it may not be as heavily focused with grunts and efforts as the gameplay mod, it is still imperative that your recording space is not echo-y and loaded with reverberation to keep up with the quality set by the gameplay mod. Good audio quality and a good recording space are an absolute must here, so please make sure to double check to make sure your space is properly treated, whether it be with blankets or professional acoustics.
