This is a casting for Death Note One-Shot Mangadub!
What is Death Note?
Death Note is originally an anime about a character by the name of light who does controversial acts that he thinks is justice with the death note. A death note is a book that grants the owners the ability to kill anybody just by writing the name of the victim, throughout the series, you see him find his way out of being accused of a killer in a intense chase to find who "Kira" (The man killing everyone with the death note). I wont spoil too much, but i highly recommend you watch the show to fully understand (And enjoy) the beauty that is Death Note.
The one that i am working on right now is a one shot that was made in late February and is a really great one-shot that i LOVE, but hate that it doesnt have voiceover. thats what i'm here for! I wont spoil anything about the one shot, but let's just say that the main character doesn't take the same approach as light, and perhaps does things for a more selfish reason. Read it!
The requirements when auditioning
First thing is first. High quality audio. an XLR microphone is highly recommended when auditioning, but USB's wont be dismissed as long as you can pull it off. but it makes a world of a difference if you have an XLR, and will greatly increase you chances of getting casted.
Second, (and this is the most important on the list) be committed to the project if/when you are casted. a person who isn't flexible with time is unacceptable, and i will have to recast if you happen to not show up when scheduled. If you believe that you may have some family problems or things that take priority, please let me know in advance and we can always work something out in the end. however, the more free you schedule is, the less you will stress about getting in your files to me, and the more love you can put to those lines. (Lines need lovin')
Third. be communicative. We will have discord calls to have read throughs, and we will be filling a reading schedule that the cast will fill out after being casted. when filling out the schedule, make sure that it is 100% according to your availability (refer to the second rule) and that you can stick to it. its okay if you cant show up certain days and times, just make sure that you fill out that you cant show up. I'll be adding you to a discord with the Dr. Stone MangaDub Cast and integrate both casts to one big "Mycro's Voiceover casts" or something.
Before you audition
Make sure that you are in a quite space and please eliminate any reverb that is in the room. if you're a beginner/novice, try to cover the corners of the room with anything you can find, and if you still have that problem, try handing a blanket underneath your microphone setup. I welcome beginners, so don't be shy! i want to see you grow as a voice actor.
take deep breaths, be aware, be the character. set aside pain, frustration, your voice, an any outside troubles you are having. and perform the best you ever had.
