Dark Souls War of the Ancient Dragons Chapter 14: Invitation (Comic Dub)

Project Overview

Comic dub of Qizeaqfiles original comic, Dark Souls: War of the Ancient Dragons. To give you a clear explanation of this project, I found it a good idea to quote the artist of this comic. Qizeaq in their own words stated "I have a dream on creating a dark souls comic in a style of a manga like Berserk. The comic is about the war with the dragons at the age of ancients. It'll chronicle the heroes and the main player during the war until the beginning of the age of fire. After the end of dark souls 3 dlc I have more clear picture on what happened. I'll make the story close to the lore as much as possible." This project is meant to be a fan project dedicated to the creative vision of the artist.

Gwyn: Lord of Sunlight

Try not to go overboard with trying to sound old. The voice should sound like an older man and should express apparent age but don't sound TOO old ie: like the generic old man character in most anime dubs.

Character description from the Dark Souls wiki

Gwyn, Lord of Cinder was greatest of the gods and a mighty warrior. He was known as the Lord of Sunlight and headed the efforts to end the Age of Ancients, together with Gravelord Nito, the Witch of Izalith, and the dragon-traitor, Seath the Scaleless. Leading his knights, he led the Gods to victory and oversaw the Age of Fire. Despite bequeathing elements of his soul to the Four Kings and Seath the Scaleless, his soul remains "a powerful thing indeed."

Around a thousand years prior to the start of the game, Gwyn sacrificed himself to link the First Flame. His reasons for doing so are disputed, but what is certain is that his principal motivation was to postpone the end of the Age of Fire. He was succeeded by his children: his firstborn, the banished God of War who lost his status as a deity; his daughter Gwynevere, the Queen of Sunlight; and his lastborn Gwyndolin, his "repulsive [and] frail" son who Gwyn raised as a daughter due to his affinity for the moon.

  • (calm and interested tone) "Ah Shira. What news do you bring from your father? Has he managed to perfect sorcerous experiments?"

(intrigued) "Hmph... The dragon school? ... I'll allow it"

(confident and reassuring) "Ha, a gracious offer but it is needed not! Do you know how long it has been since the appearance of a dragon?"

(confident and reassuring) "Precisely! The dragons lay dead, nearly extinct. The remnants hide in the great mountain. The path here is guarded by my firstborn son"

(confident and reassuring) "There has already been a winner declared in this war. We wait now for the witches who ready themselves to set fire to the archtrees, and nito who will spread a miasma of death beyond that"

(confident and reassuring) "I have a more important mantle for you to take up in the ringed city"

Kalameet: Black Dragon

Role assigned to: Call_your_Lies

Kalameet should sound very calming and soothing, but firm and unwavering. No accent needed. Kalameet is one of the strongest dragons alive. Your voice will be mixed down and deepened in audacity, then put together with my voice to make a similar sounding voice to Satan in the film "The Adventures of Mark Twain"

  • (Calm and collected. You are flying down from the skies to meet a group of heavily armed soldiers protecting royalty) "Greetings firstborn of Gwyn"

"I am Kalameet. I do not come here to fight. This light paralyzes your troops temporarily.

"I come with an invitation of peace"

"I shall take you to our elder. We will discuss the terms of our surrender. Should you mistrust me, you could slay me here and now."

"To traverse the plane, you must first walk the path of the dragon. I can show you this path"
