Danganronpa: SHOWDOWN! VA's needed!
Project Overview
STORY SUMMARY
Danganronpa: SHOWDOWN! Is a fan-based non profit web series inspired by Danganronpa, various comics, and fighting games. This series features a brand new story with an original cast of characters who must fight to escape the Draycon Tournament, a once friendly contest of strength turned malicious.
REQUIREMENTS
Voice actors need to be above the age of 16+ in order to apply. Voice actors will also need to have a discord account in order to join a Danganronpa: SHOWDOWN specific cast server, where the director will be communicating with voice actors about the project. Mic Quality is also very important. Please note that we will not be accepting phone recordings, and much prefer clean audio with little to no background noise.
PAYMENT
All characters, including extras and minor roles, in Danganronpa: SHOWDOWN will have a fixed rate of $3 (USD) per line. Upon being chosen for a role, voice actors will need to make sure they have a valid PayPal account in order to receive payment when turning in their lines.
THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND:
-This project is going to be long-running, and will require voice actors to stick around for each chapter in order to provide new voice lines.
-A Voice Actor reveal video will be uploaded shortly after all voice actors have been chosen for their roles. This will require the director choosing one of the audition lines to include within the video. Voice actors will be compensated for the usage of the chosen line, and will be paid $3 (USD) after accepting the role and joining the mentioned discord server above.
-The Danganronpa: SHOWDOWN prologue is finished! Aside from adding in voice acting, that is. So, what does this mean? After all lines are completed, your work will be shown off right away! The director has a goal of releasing the prologue early spring 2022 at the latest, so please expect a quick turnaround when providing the prologue lines. While the rest of the story will have a much more lax approach to deadlines, we are in need of reliable voice actors who are able to meet this goal. Please do not apply if you know you would be very busy right after accepting the role.

[Medium - Medium Low range]
A patient and warm-hearted young man who does not allow his string of bad luck to drive how his life will play out in the future. He is a strong believer of becoming stronger through a balance of study and discipline, practicing what is preached by training both his heart and body. He is very in touch with his emotions, and will strongly empathize with others. Bojin's service to his previously gang-ridden and dangerous community has made him somewhat of a local hero. His community was so happy to have a worldwide tournament candidate that they pitched in to get Bojin a custom-made uniform to represent their city.
His fighting style is learned through any techniques he could get his hands on. An avid studier, he will use a vast array of moves from anything he could learn, or any weapon he could potentially pick up, therefore creating his hodgepodge street fighting style. He has zero cyber enhancements.
[Carefree, Casual] "I was planning on exploring this place while we still had time, anyways. Wanna walk around together?"
[Unsure, a bit worried] "Are you sure we shouldn’t go back there to stop her? If a staff member walks in, she could get in a lot of trouble."
[Angry, shouting] "How dare you! How dare you for giving up on it all so easily! Think of the others, does what they feel really not mean anything to you?!"
[Medium High - Medium range]
A beautiful, intelligent woman who occasionally uses her looks and status to manipulate others. Despite her prim style, she is no stranger to good old fashioned hard work, and becomes passionate when speaking about techniques and fighting styles. She may look as if she is snobby or intimidating, but she genuinely believes in the growth of a person, and is willing to give others a chance, especially if she can gauge that you are strong. If Delilah feels as if she can trust a person, her attitude will be a friendly type of sassy, throwing back comebacks without the bite.
Delilah will occasionally use solid, quick movements with heavy hits. She specializes in a defensive strategy that mixes the qualities of Kickboxing and Muay Thai that she enjoys, leaving an opponent exhausted and knocked back in seconds flat once their guard is lowered. She leaves her manipulative side out of fighting, honoring a fair fight between two individuals who put their all into battles. It is unknown if Delilah has cyber enhancements.
[Confident, Playful] "Hm... Yeah, I wouldn’t have enjoyed kicking you around anyways, you look pretty helpless. And what about you? Your build shows promise."
[Manipulative] "Woe is me, If only I had a strong man to help me carry my stuff up to my room! ...Or some shit. What do you say, darling?"
[Gritted teeth, biting back anger] "You'd throw away everything just like that, huh? You're not worth my time."
[Medium - Medium Low Range]
Every year, a Martial Study Intern is chosen to join the tournament as an onlooker to view and study the combat practices of the participants. Unfortunately for Jack, he was the chosen representative for the year 3030. He is a friendly, extremely chill type amongst the group, occasionally taking some slack on by the others for being unmotivated. Jack has passion for both music and martial arts, sporting a lowkey rock flair. He has no prior practice in any form of martial arts, but could tell you how styles are performed to a T through careful study.
Like Bojin, Jack has no cyber enhancements.
[Casual] "Nailed it on the head. Yeah, literature is my major, but studying fighting styles is my interest. If you ever want info about stuff like that, I’m your guy."
[Worried] "I understand why they would need to be careful. If somebody were to be fatally injured during a match, it would be a disaster."
[Mischievous] "I thought you wanted to look around? Besides, I don’t see any staff anywhere. We could even take from their example, and stick our noses into stuff we couldn’t normally access."
[Medium-low, Low range]
Strong! Passionate! FIERY! Pain is a woman who loves strength. She is a very heroic figure and an apparent champion to her homeland, participating in gigantic wrestling tournaments and capturing the hearts of many fans. She has a large fanbase of children who look up to her, and she absolutely adores them. When asked about her wrestling name, she bashfully admits that it just sounded cool. Her feelings can be very transparent, and it’s easy to tell when something is bugging her. She is regretful that due to an accident many years ago that replaced a lot of her human parts for robotic functions that she cannot have children of her own. Like a true mother, she can be both inspiring, and a nagging presence to the others on what is best for the current scenario. She refers to the cast as “Kiddos," “Baby” or “Honey” in a caring manner. She has a bit of a mischievous side as well.
Pain uses a variety of traditional and showy wrestling moves. Due to a lot of her body being enhanced by her robotic parts, she will often go easy on targets so as to not injure them more than necessary. She was often told that her soft heart holds her back from going worldwide, but she brushes those comments off, believing that knowing when to show mercy is what makes a good role model.
[Energetic] "Hell yeah! All the best wrestlers come from Mars, sweetie. We may be the newest sister colony, but we’ve got some tough cookies in our ranks. You’re fighting too, right?"
[Sad] "It’s not fair, damn it. I just want to stomp back over to his smug face and tell him off for brushing it to the side so easily…"
[Angry, Shouting] "You… I- that’s just cruel! Why do you sound so pleased with yourself, you monster?!"
[Medium-High, Medium Range]
A tired-out, mysterious man who speaks in riddles and more often than not comes across as unsettling. He doesn’t care much for judgment from others, however. His genius mind is singularly one-track, focusing on a never-ending obsession to create mechanical weapons that are stronger and faster. He speaks his mind, no matter the scenario. This causes a disconnect between him and other people, coming across as blunt, and quick to turn others down. “He cares in his own way,” as Fenris, an apparent friend of his, would call it. Though, it is a bit harder to believe for strangers that Scattershot would have other people’s interests in mind.
He uses a variety of gun-like weapons at his disposal, most of them within the large chambers of his surprisingly lightweight arm gauntlets.
[Bored, Deadpan] "Assessment is my specialty. Your muscular and skeletal scans lack the natural materials used for the enhancements."
[Coldly] "I am doing important work. If you were to distract me, I may make a fatal mistake."
[Curious] "Hm. While it is true that the Draycon Tournament allows fighters of all backgrounds to join, it has been a very long time since a regular human was tossed into the matchups. For a regular human to possess such strength… Who are you, squishy little thing?"
[Medium-Low, Low Range.]
A man with a clear sense of importance. His mind is as sharp as his blades, and has clearly had experience as a leader. He gives off the façade that very little will crack at his ego and face of a cool figure-- however, it actually takes very little to make him annoyed and foul mouthed, occasionally littering his words with passive aggression and sarcasm when he becomes offended. He favors those who can hold their own in an argument without backing down or being intimidated by his appearance or status.
Fenris’ spine has been cyber enhanced and surfaces from his back in a protruding fashion. He is able to control large mechanical appendages in the shape of spider limbs from the spine’s nerve endings that allow him to grab items, climb walls, and use his vast collection of swords with ease.
[Curious] "Hm. I’ve noticed that you seem to be a little too humble for a Draycon Tournament Participant. If we weren’t in such a harrowing situation, I would have expected you to sound more proud of your position."
[Smug, definitely has a shit eating grin] "Do you dislike me, or not? Make up your damn mind."
[Angry, Scary] "I’m not a nice person! If you aren’t scared of me, I suggest you act like you are, and run away with your tail between your legs."
[Medium-High, High Range. Accent listed in role is meant to be a Texan/ Southwestern cadence, but this is not a strong requirement.]
A shy girl with little to nothing to say. When she does speak up, it is usually only because she has to. She appears to be searching for something near impossible to achieve, speaking hopelessly when talking about her own ambitions. Crackers is very easily flustered and quick to scare, so she prefers to keep herself out of danger as much as possible.
Crackers is agile, using a style of fighting rarely discussed outside of her obsolete hometown, and prefers the use of sharp objects. She will use struggle tactics, and any dirty move to win will do the trick. It is unknown whether or not she is cyber enhanced.
[Casual] "I don’t like fightin’ much, but I’m doin’ it for my family. I wanna provide for ‘em, since they’ve already done so much for me."
[Unsure] I-I’m too afraid to go into the kitchen alone. Saw the crowned champion come out through that direction, and he seemed heated, s-so I’m wonderin’ if getting myself somethin’ to eat is really such a good idea or not…
[Determined] "I-I ain’t tappin’ out, not when I’ve built up the courage to stand here!"
[High Range]
A man-made fighter bot with a fiery temper, and an even fouler mouth. She can think for herself, but can have childish spats if her logic is challenged. Her upbringing made her believe that her only purpose was to fight other fighter bots to prove that she, and essentially her owner, are the strongest. This deep obsession for fighting eventually paid off, and Anne became the champion of the Fighter Bot League on Mars prior to her participation in the Draycon Tournament. Her competitive attitude towards other bots leads her to have multiple humorous interactions with the android host of the tournament, Ami Ami.
Her entire body is used as a weapon to her disposal. Hard to break, she uses the large shields attached to her arms and legs to both block and utterly crush opponents. She is very heavy, and therefore needs to use a lot of energy to propel herself using the wings on her back. Her walking capabilities can be otherwise heavy and clunky like most fighter bots to prevent being easily knocked down, so she relies heavily on the wings for mobility.
[Annoyed, Angry] "KEH! Didn’t anybody teach you that it isn’t nice to stare?!"
[Energetic, Upbeat] "Yeah! Yeah! I’ve been around for seven years! If I were human, people would still call me a little kid."
[Fear turning into anger] "Just shut the hell up… that whole scene gave me the heebie jeebies… and now we gotta pull that kind of shit on each other?!"
[Any Range]
Tai’s stiffness and dark presence is intimidating and frightening to be in the presence of… that is, until he opens his mouth. He speaks like a confused child, staring off into the distance as he mumbles to himself. He will then snap back to you and genuinely ask who you are for the eighth time that day. Some people may find him unfocused or even condescending, but those who know him personally find this trait especially endearing. He is easily impressed by simple mundane tasks, especially revolving around feats that have to do with technology, which he is comedically far from understanding in a futuristic world.
In battle, Tai becomes a focused mind that can only think of a clean assassination. He is fast and aerodynamic, using an array of ninja tools and even his own feet and hands to deal swift blows. His left leg is a full prosthetic made with complex technology. He will use it to the fullest in battle to powerfully leap, jump, and kick at enemies. However, if you ask him how he did such feats, he wouldn’t be able to tell you and would promptly start dissociating about it for a while.
[Confused] "The ground… it is moving, but I am not walking on it… can you explain this to me…?"
[Impressed, Determined] "Hm! So, this is the power of a man with nothing left to lose. I see, I see... I will accept your challenge. Prepare yourself!"
[Cold, Serious] "No more games."
[Medium-Low, Low Range]
The President of Draycon Inc. and the Draycon Tournament, Artemis E. Draycon. He’s a genius of a man, connecting The Earth, Mars, and Moon colonies together through the Jetway Bridge Express. His kindness and generosity are felt across all of the colonies, and he has committed his life to creating more everyday conveniences for the average man. The only thing that can rival Artemis' love for science is his passion for fighting sports, creating the Draycon Tournaments immediately upon taking his place as President of Draycon Inc. when he was a young man. He wholeheartedly believes that such events will work wonders connecting people together through time and space, where they otherwise would be isolated upon their own colonies.
[Proud. Upbeat] "There is no doubt in my mind that if I should continue this path, my practices will be passed down to one of my own children. And they, too, will bring about more comfortable conveniences for the average man. "
[Worried] "Ah, Levin, my friend, what troubles you? Surely the weight of the tournament responsibilities isn't weighing too heavily on your shoulders?"
[Commanding] "Please everyone, calm down! By my honor, I will not allow a single one of you to come to harm!"
