OVERVIEW
Dance of Courts is a cinematic narrated Audiobook based on my novel going by the same name. This will be a much shorter version, roughly 10-15 minutes long.
ABOUT
The project is set in a fantasy world of unknown magic, assassins and bloodshed, which follows the story of a young woman, Eiraelle Valerian, who has spent most of her life fighting to prove she is more than just the daughter of the world’s most infamous assassins.
However, her life of stealing and dancing to her favourite music comes to a halt when she is forced by a letter from her parents to the Lord of her homeland to enrol at a resurfacing deadly Military Academy. Whilst she wishes to be anywhere but there, she is surrounded by young individuals who are eager to avenge their loved ones that Eiraelle’s parents unfortunately eliminated whilst they were alive.
AUDITION INFORMATION
Audition Period: January 30th, 2024 - February 18th, 2024 (23:59 GMT)
I am looking to fill the remaining main roles and supporting roles (1F & 2M) + many Extras needed! Most scenes will consist of small reactions (eg: laughing, panting, grunting).
Please note: Selected talent will be expected to self-direct their recordings. Lines will be provided from the project Discord server. Talent must also be available to record all of their lines by April 10th, 2024.
The final results will be announced on Twitter(X)

You may audition for as many characters as you wish! Maximum 2 takes per character.
Please record your takes in ABCABC Format.
Please do not edit your recordings other than basic clean-up, (noise removal and cutting is fine!)

Character Description:
Rhys is a sarcastic character and never fails to make those around him laugh. He has great combat skills and is always top of the class. Rhys is also empathetic and compassionate, he believes in second chances.
Rhys Tarygen is a lead character in this project.
Line 1: (Relaxed) “Wakey-Wakey sunshine.”
Line 2: (Impressed) “You know you’re not at all what I expected you to be,” [PAUSE] “Well for starters when you woke up in the wagon I thought you were going to spill my blood everywhere-” [CHUCKLE … CUT OFF] “/Ow!/”
Line 3: (Worried) “Eira?! [ay-rah] EIRA?!” (Quiet, Worried) “Oh my god where did you go…”

Character Description:
Bellatris has the “idgaf” attitude, she is one of the most intelligent and strongest cadets in the academy. Even though she has a rude attitude, she helps those she sees true potential in when she is in the mood to do so.
Bellatris is a secondary character in this project.
Line 1: (Confident, unimpressed) “Oh, /please/, save me the boredom. I’ve already solved more complex problems like this during my afternoon naps. What’s next? A challenge for those still learning to tie their shoes?”
Line 2: (Getting mad during an argument) “Look, I’ve got better things to do, but for those I give a damn about - I might consider sparing a moment of my precious time. Emphasis on ‘might.’”
Line 3: (Emotional) “And- Please… tell Rhys I’m sorry I lied. I might not be there to say it myself-” [EIRA’S LINE] “No- Please, Eira [ay-rah]. I have to do this. It’s for my family. The ones I’m bonded to by blood.”

Character Description:
Loic is impatient and cocky when it comes to talking to the other cadets in the academy. He doesn’t feel any guilt when trying to kill the other cadets in trials and training games. The number one person he tries to get killed is Eiraelle Valerian, since his family was the one family the Valerian family had pleasure in killing. So throughout the cadets year at the academy, he continues to try and kill Eira to avenge his fallen family.
Loic Ortello is the Antagonist in the project.
Line 1: (Smug) “My name is Loic Ortello. I assume you’ve heard it before.” [PAUSE FOR NEXT LINE] (Vicious) “Mh. Then I guess your parents were truly evil to forget about the people they killed.”
Line 2: (Violent) “How lucky am I? I have the daughter of the infamous dead assassins right in my hands. You’re not as strong as people have said you are. I could break you right here.”
Line 3: (Pleading, Hesitant) “Please- Please! I regret everything I’ve said! I haven’t done… anything since then! What people might be saying are lies! Please I … I’m not lying!"
Gender: Any
Pitch: Low-Mid-High Range
Accent: Open to any but preferably North American or British.
Character Description:
Extras are lead roles in this production. They are used for any background voices in the audio and are there for extra characters written in the story.
There will be some late-addition characters added in the project after the deadline so feel free to audition for role of Extra and I will definitely consider you for another character in the project!
