Project Overview

Description

Hello, I am Juan Isaac aka Metal_Shade. You may have heard my voice before in some other projects. For a while I’ve been lending my voice to other creators for entertainment. Now, I direct my first dubbing project. 


Custom Robo (Custom Robo Battle Revolution in Japan) has a great story to tell and it can be even better with voices. This game I enjoy a lot with it’s fun gameplay and great narrative. I want to do my best to highlight the story well with voice acting. Seeing this is a voluntary project I understand if you don’t wish to audition. If you are looking to do so, however, then welcome!


Prerequisites & Instructions 


The following equipment you must have.

  • Computer or other device to access & audition

  • Microphone (Prefer XLR but USB mics are acceptable)

  • Recording software to record audio. (Audacity, Reaper, Adobe Audition etc.)

  • Any way to contact (Discord, Twitter, Email etc.)


When auditioning, consider the following:

Please follow the voice direction for each character role. Since all characters don’t have a preexisting voice sample aside from voice bleeps in-game it’s up to you to come up with the voice you intend to audition for. Please make sure that your audition is in an MP3 or WAV file. Pretty obligatory but make sure there is little to no background noise in your audition. Also, type in anyway I can contact you. It’ll be very helpful when casted or be of use for future projects. Also, you can audition for as many roles as you’d like. Think of this as getting more chances to be involved in this project.   • 300+ Auditions. Final Casting time!

    First off, thank you VA's for participating in auditioning for my project. I'm very happy to see a great amount of people have a lot of faith in this. So, I'm hoping that I don't screw this up and make this a failure. My goal from the very start is to make this project as high quality as possible. You all have put your best in these auditions so give yourself a pat on the back. Now, I know that the deadline is tomorrow. However, considering the many auditions posted here, I think I'll start casting now. I feel confident in you all since you've done excellent work. Now, for those who didn't get casted.   • Over 250+ Auditions!! Production Update!

    Hello VA's! Thank you once again for all the auditions submitted! I've heard all the auditions submitted so far and there's incredible talent among you all. I'm very fortunate to have such passion willing to help out. So, I have some good news to share. Game-play recordings are 100% complete! All that's left is a few miscellaneous things and I can work comfortably on this. There's only 2 days left till casting so please, take your time when auditioning and feel free to share with others.   • Over 150+ Auditions! Production Update!

    I can't believe that there are so MANY auditions for this casting call. I honestly didn't think there would be so many auditions sent my way. Thanks you all once again for participating. In other news, recordings for gameplay are almost complete! I still need more time to prep up so I'll be doing my best getting everything settled. In the meantime, thank you VA's for showing your interest and support! I hope I can make this production very well once I start working with you all.   • Over 100 Auditions!!! I'm speechless...

    So, I check back to this casting call and I see over 100 auditions submitted for this project. It's probably not too many people but I'm very happy you took your time to audition for this project. Thank you all so much for giving me a chance to fulfill this passion project of mine. The second-ever employee of Steel Hearts! Harry is Hero’s trusted teammate, providing basic knowledge and strategies for Custom Robos. Being the most outspoken of the three Steel Hearts employees, he asserts himself as the de facto leader of the group.


Voice direction: Harry’s voice bleeps are about mid-low so keep that in mind when auditioning. In most of his dialogue, Harry can be very outspoken, flirtatious or pretty chill depending on the situation. While reckless, he has good intentions whether for his friends or for himself. Harry has the second most dialogue in-game.

The first employee of Steel Hearts. Marcia, as a child, lived with her brother Sergei and their parents. When, unfortunately, the parents died it was just the two siblings on their own. It didn’t help as much that other kids would label her strange thanks to Marcia’s ability called the “half-dive”. She would only find consolation in her brother as she kept getting picked on by kids and adults. One day, Marcia was taken in by researchers from the Custom Robo Lab to better understand the half-dive. They poked and prodded her to get more information. Sergei, however, mysteriously disappeared leaving Marcia all alone. She then attempts to join the police squad to find clues about her brother's disappearance. Eventually, she would join the bounty hunting office of Steel Hearts as the first employee.


Voice direction: Marcia’s voice bleeps in-game tells she has a mid to mid-high pitch. For the most part, Marcia tends to be soft spoken. She can be serious at times and deeply cares for the people around her. Other times frightened or even saddened.

The landlady of Hero’s Home. Lucy’s had a few careers in her lifetime. She’s claimed to be a successful supermodel and peanut sneezing champion. As the landlord, Lucy takes the role of an adoptive mother, looking after Hero for years while his father’s away. Upon hearing the news of Hero’s Father passing away, she continues her support for Hero.


Voice direction: Lucy’s voice bleeps are mid to mid-high. Lucy is a very kind woman to Hero. A bit out of touch often but does mean well.

The temperamental leader, manager, and CEO of Steel Hearts! Graduating from Takuma University, Ernest set his sights on making a bounty hunting career and established the Steel Hearts brand. While not a Class-S commander thanks to his sometimes uncontrollable temper, he still knows how to hold his own and be a powerful Robo commander.


Voice direction: Ernest’s voice bleeps are mid-low to low. In terms of range, Ernest is mostly serious and, thanks to his temper, can get pretty angry. Deep down though, he’s a very kind hearted individual who cares for the rest of the Steel Hearts employees. Even more so being a closet poet. The only person he outwardly express to is Linda.

Director of the Custom Robo Research Facilities. Graduating from the same university as Ernest, her job is to study and research new Custom Robo. Even though her main job is a scientist, she is a very capable Robo Commander. She’s also the love interest of both Harry and Ernest.


Voice direction: Linda’s voice bleeps are around mid-low. Linda, for the most part, is serious. There are times where she’ll joke around or have fun. When interacting with others (like Ernest, police squad etc.) she’s shown to be very caring. Especially towards Marcia.

The leader of the entire Police Squad. He’s a semi-retired commander that oversees the daily procedures of all law enforcement procedures. Despite his old age, he’s a very capable Class S Robo Commander.


Voice direction: Chief’s voice bleeps are at a low pitch. Since he’s an old man (perhaps in his 50’s or 60’s) do your best to age your voice. He’s very respectful to his peers, even the Steel Hearts bounty hunters. Can be serious at times or can be aloof.

A Police Squad Captain of the Police Squad. Unlike most Robo Commanders, she went ahead to take the Class A exams instead of Class C and passed. For this feat, she was permitted to join the police squad. Now aware of the Outside World when passing the Class S test, she’s still a dedicated member of the Police Squad.


Voice direction: Mira’s voice bleeps are around the mid to mid-low range. Being the older sister to Harry, she’s playful at times. When doing her police work, she tends to be more serious about the situation. Also shows respect to her peers and even to the Steel Hearts bounty hunters.

A Lieutenant in the Police Squad. Roy is a strong willed, disciplined officer. Serving as the partner/right-hand man for Mira. He is also a really great partner with Sergei as the two were called the “Northern Wolf and Southern Tiger”.


Voice direction: Roy’s voice bleeps are at a mid to mid-low range. He upholds his superiors (like Mira and Chief) to a high degree. As a result he’s gained a reputation of being strict and commanding. He’s not too kind to bounty hunters as he believes the Police Squad do a better job.

The leader of one of the rival Z Syndicate factions and one of the most prominent. Oboro was originally recruited by Hero’s Father to destroy Rahu. However, he saw the potential of controlling Rahu for himself to become the strongest Robo commander.


Voice direction: Oboro’s voice bleeps are about mid to mid-high with a robotic filter *note: you don’t have to apply a robotic filter yourself when auditioning.*. He is mostly pretty crazy but can get serious often at times. Doesn’t treat others around him well, except for Sergei.

The older brother of Marcia, former member of the police squad and now High Member of the Z Syndicate. After the death of his parents, Sergei was left alone to take care. During this period, he joined the police squad in a team with Captain Mira & Lieutenant Roy. Once he obtained an S-class license and became aware of the outside world, he met the leader of the Z Syndicate and joined his cause.


Voice direction: Sergei’s voice bleeps are mid-low to low range. At the start, Sergei appears to not say much. Only obeying Oboro with short answers. Later on, he does show compassion for Marcia and his former police teammates.

Once the leader of the Z Syndicate. He was an accredited scientist who discovered the Outside World. Upon discovering the threat of Rahu, he dedicated his life to protect the world with the Z Syndicate. Unfortunately, he would pass away, hoping his son will become a commander and finish what he started.


Voice direction: Hero’s Father has a low pitch from his voice bleeps. He’s a very caring man and very loving of his son. In his messages, he’s pretty confident and wise in what he says.
