BMCO- Actors, Artists, Musicians, and Directors Needed!!
Project Overview
Hello! I'm Koto and this is Be More Chill Online. Be More Chill Online (BMCO) is an online musical in which actors record both lines and songs from the musical Be More Chill. Artists will then make animatics for every scene. Each character is designed to fit the actor/actress who is voicing the character; this makes the production as unique as a live production of the musical. (pictures for characters are the current designs, if artists are willing, then the design may be changed for the new actor)
We have been working on this project for about a year now. However, as of late, we've had some problems with keeping the project running smoothly. This is why I am recasting some roles and adding onto ensemble! I am also adding more artists and some directors in order to help run the project.
If you're interested, feel free to audition or apply for a position! I look forward to seeing what everyone's got!
For those unfamiliar with the show, BMC follows high schooler Jeremy Heere. Jeremy doesn't fit in but he longs for the day that he will. As such, after his bully suggests that he buy a Squip, Jeremy gladly complies. A Squip is a small pill that enters your brain and sets up an AI of sorts that will tell you what to do in order to be more chill. Once Jeremy's life is great, it slowly spirals down into insanity because of the Squip's insistence on helping Jeremy.
Some Rules For This:
-MUST be 16 or older!!!! I made a few exceptions with the original cast, but, this time, I would like to stick to this rule!! Please be honest about your age! Oftentimes, I am able to tell how old someone is by their voice!
-Have a good microphone (if you need to record)
-Have good knowledge of BMC

I will split these roles apart if I like an actor's portrayal better than another's! (Aka, you do well as Mr. Heere and Stockboy while someone else does better as Mr. Reyes. You get the two roles and they get one. Or three people get one of the roles) I will change Mr. Reyes into Mrs. Reyes if a girl plays the role well enough!
Jeremy's Dad/Mr. Heere- Doesn’t wear pants after Jeremy’s mother left him. He’s not the ideal father, but he does care for his son.
Mr. Reyes- The director for the school play. He would rather be on Broadway than teaching high school theatre in New Jersey. He doesn't sing, but the actor will sing ensemble,
Scary Stockboy-Rich’s hookup for Squips. He works at Payless and is, as the name implies, scary. Sings very little and will be in ensemble.
Mr. Heere: We’re all men in this house. Pretend we’re in the army.

Mr. Reyes: Hellooooo, everyone! My name is Mr. Reyes. You may recognize me from Drama Class, or my full-time job, at the Hobby Lobby. (deeply moved) Thank you. I’ve been dreaming of the day I get to stage William Shakespeare’s classic “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”. And today, that dream dies. And is reborn! Just… slightly mutated. The school has informed me that, unless I increase out popularity, our funds will be diverted. To the Frisbee Golf Team. Which is why our production will be set, not in a pastoral forest, but a post-apocalyptic future. Instead of frolicking with fairies, there will be fleeing. From zombies.

The girl who knows everyone’s business. She doesn’t seem to actually have a group of friends and is just with everyone. However, she is frequently trying to hang out with Chloe and Brooke, despite Chloe’s annoyance. For the most part, what she says is spread around through other people.

Will direct all things related to art. Distributes work between artists, sets deadlines for art, among various other tasks.
In order to apply, please send me a form that includes works of your art, animatics, and a list of any directing positions that you may have held. Explain to me what art means to you and why you would like to direct in this project.

Artists will create promo, create character designs, and do whatever artistic things that this project requires. Work will be split up between artists. It would be preferred if you can make animatics, but it is not required. All art must be digital.

The Co-Director will assist in giving opinions on actor's lines and will help in directing actors with how they should deliver their lines.
To apply, please just explain to me your experience with directing and your experience with acting. It's fine if you have no experience directing, but I would like you to know a few things about acting, at the very least.

The instrumentalists are in charge of recording music to make accompaniment tracks. They must be able to play the piano/keyboard. If they want to add different instruments and parts into the music to make it sound like the show, they may. Otherwise, our music will be piano only. Must be able to record and play music well.

The Media Director will be in charge of promotion and all of our social media! They will post to our Tumblr and upload to our Youtube! They will come up with the posting schedule and try to earn more attention for this project!

The music director will work with actors to make sure that they sing the songs correctly. They will split the actors into vocal parts and rehearse the songs. They will be in charge of setting deadlines for when actors must have their parts of songs recorded and setting a deadline for when each accompaniment track is recorded by the instrumentalist.
