  • Decisions pushed back

    Hi... I'm sorry to say, but things have been needing much more thought than I originally thought. The script has direction, but it's not ready yet. It still needs time to be ready. I've looked at all the auditions and I'm still very happy with how they turned out. Though the role for the villain in episode 1 has yet to be auditioned for. Though things have still been slow, I'm glad to have been taking my time with the characters. I think it's given the story this sense of casualness in between the drama and comedy. I know i said that June 22nd and 23rd was when roles were to be chosen, but plans have changed in order to have this be what it needs to be. This show is meant to be a comfort show that also inspires and explores deep questions. I'm not a company, I'm a guy that loves to draw and tell stories. So I hope you guys can understand that it's been no quick and easy task. Especially the beginning, it's the most difficult part in starting anything really. I opened this call back in January only expecting a few people to be interested enough to audition, but within the first few hours, So many people auditioned! It really gave me hope for the series to be something that people can like. And just, I really hope I can keep that same tone for the show that I described earlier. I could've met deadlines in order to deliver something that's technically a story. But it would be a shame to see it technically completed than what it's meant to really be. But another thing, this series will have some very important messages that not a lot of media has these days. That in itself also pushes me to make this become what it's meant to be. I know nothing can be perfect, but I'm not going to sell Bireln short of what i know it can be. So sorry, no big news for now, but I hope this post has at least also helped you get to know me a bit more. The auditions will stay open for much longer, I'm still aiming to hopefully have episode 1 finished this year, but for now, things still need to develop and simmer a bit for it to be right.

  • Roles will be decided on June 22nd and 23rd

    Long time no see! College has been tough for the last few months, but since it's recently ended, we can finally get things started again! I've begun interviewing potential candidates for the parts they've auditioned for. I also have to say, there are 122 auditions, and 17 roles. Anyone who isn’t auditioning for the characters will very likely get the role they want. But for the voice actors, only 7 will have a role. So, for those who don’t get the part, but still want to be included, I’m introducing the early audience role! The role will allow anyone who applies to see early content. Including early viewing of episodes, art, discord conversations, and much more! As a member of the early audience, you can give your opinions and any critiques that can help the show be what it needs to be!

    Now for voice actors, roles will be chosen and finalized by the end of the 23rd of June. During those 2 days on the 22nd and the 23rd, everyone with a role will be sent a profile guide for playing the character. This will include things like what they’ll know throughout each story beat, a general direction of how their past affects them, their personality traits, descriptions, and more! You’ll also be given a script alongside concept art for the scenes. This is to help you get a better understanding of the moods. Since all the recording will be remote, I also hope you can record yourself while voice acting. Doing so will help the characters have more genuine reactions in how they say the things they do. I’m the one writing the characters, but your performances are what will bring them to life! 

    I hope as many recordings as possible are finished and sent to me by July 17th

    There have also been updates to the roles on the Bireln page. Since this project hasn't been promoted recently, there are new roles with no auditions yet. I recommend checking them out at some point if you're interested.

  • Production pushed back

    I've decided that the story needs to be finished and polished before we can start production. It may be a few weeks before then. Maybe months. Hopefully not years. I'm sorry to bring this news to everyone, but I can't rush this. This story has been in development for years now. A lot is set up, but it's not time to start turning it into a series yet. I'll leave the parts open for now. But yeah, I need to be sure about this.

  • Auditions received! Everyone is being considered!

    I'm sorry if I'm taking too long to make a decision on who's who. I'm going to try to connect to you guys soon. If you guys want to ask me any questions, you can comment on the project in the comment section at the bottom of the page. If you don't get the part you want, I'll offer other roles that you can get in the future. I can't include everyone at the same time because it'll go way over my budget. I'll keep working on it.

  • Potential Delay in Starting

    I've been writing the story more, and I've realized there is still some really important decisions to be made before the series can start. But even then, I now realize that the wise choice may be to focus on the story first, before animating and putting in voice overs in it. It may be too early to know what type of people I'll need for this project. I may discuss with some writers that have auditioned, and see if the series is close to earning a casting call. I've wanted to do this series for a longtime now. I've developed it a lot, and it looks about right, but I may still need more time for it. I'll keep the project up for now.
