Synopsis: A young man wakes up on his couch after a motorcycle accident and finds a bird in his house. The bird begins to speak and promptly explains that it flew into the man’s head while he was riding, and that it needs his help to kill people if they both want to live. After reluctantly agreeing, they both head out to find their first victim.
This is my final film for my course at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT)!! I really want to bring these personal characters of mine to life and their voices are a huge part of that.
Quick disclaimer, I am a jobless, rent paying student so I can't offer much money! But I still would love to pay something for people's time and work. Thank you to whoever auditions despite this. :)
Details:
-I don't have set voices in my head for these characters, you can experiment as much as you want. HOWEVER this is set in Australia so most of the characters need that accent, with the exception of The Bird.
-Would like the audio to not include pops, peaking or background noise. I'm not picky with what equipment you use or where you record from, as long as it sounds fine and I can use the audio files!
-Happy to communicate through email or Discord if I choose you.
-If you live in Melbourne and want to come into the cbd, there is a recording booth I can book for us (if you don't have your own equipment).
-All characters except the news anchor will be raising their voices and potentially yelling at some point so be aware of that!
-NO AI VOICES

I'm starting to short-list people now, I love all the voices people have given the characters, it's quite surreal seeing how people imagine my characters sounding, I love it. In an ideal scenario I would make the birdface cinematic universe real so I can use all your voices!! One of, if not the main character of the story. Aaron is a young guy who lives in a small Australian city. He appears to be quite a shaken-up individual once he meets the bird that caused his accident. Usually he's pretty laid-back and reasonable, but surprisingly he finds it hard to stand his ground when being threatened by a small talking creature.
Throughout the film Aaron is reluctant to do what the bird is tasking him with, and holds back as much as he can until the end.
What happened, actually? I thought I was riding home until... you... flew into me.
(Annoyed) Why? Why on Earth do you need to do this with me? And what if I say no?
(Nervous) Hey man, I don't wanna do this. I can't just kill an innocent guy.
Major role.
The second main character, the first to speak in the film! The Bird is a weak demon who has taken on the form of a Goshawk, a bird of prey. It's a sly and irritable creature who wants to move on to killing people as soon as possible. It simply needs Aaron to behave as a vessel to commit these acts.
The Bird seems like a serious, being at first but that eventually isn't the case. It gets impatient while Aaron asks reasonable questions and even more annoyed when he starts holding back in front of their first victim.
I don't have a solid idea for The Bird's voice, I've mostly just imagined a mix of different ones, so I'm open to any gender and accent as long as it sounds good 😎 (though Australian is a plus).
I flew INTO your face and you had an accident, but it's fine. I got you home while you were unconscious.
(Annoyed) Either you work with me to kill a few people, or, we both die.
You don't have to move a muscle. Just let me handle this guy.
Minor role.
A suspicious, hooded figure unfortunately targeted by the two main characters. He's innocent but that doesn't matter.
He is utterly confused while looking at the two main characters in the alleyway, shouts for help and begs not to be killed.
Uhhh... What is happening right now?
(Scared) Whoa, easy, you want my money or something?
(Scared) Please, why are you doing this? What did I do!?

The news anchor is talking about a recent incident involving the two main characters.
A professional, female broadcaster that doesn't stutter and can handle talking about gruesome stories.
More on the case of the serial killer now known as "Birdface".
Signature feathers were, again, strewn around the body and path below.
A bystander reported the body and a crime scene was set up around the area.
