Berserk the Audio Manga, Episode 5: The Guardians of Desire, Part 3
Project Overview
Berserk is a dark fantasy manga, written by Kentaro Miura. Following the Black Swordsman Guts, a man with a cursed fate, the story explores the depths of camaraderie and betrayal, and contemplates whether or not a man truly has any control over his destiny. Over the course of almost 30 years, over 300 chapters have been released, with the end still not in sight. This project seeks to adapt the entirety of Berserk, taking the incredible artwork from the manga and adding music, sound effects, and of course, voice acting.
Episode 5 continues the Guardians of Desire story line. Puck is taken by the Count and given to his daughter Theresia, a girl of surprising compassion and kindness, despite her father's monstrous nature. Meanwhile, Guts faces down Zondark, who has now been possessed by the Count. The fight rages throughout the castle, until the final confrontation between Guts and the Count truly begins.
While I do consider this a passion project, it is something I ask that everyone put their best effort into. I want this to be the highest quality I can make it, and to do that, I need my cast to have good recording equipment and the discipline to get their lines in on time. Theresia is the daughter of the Count. Locked away in her room, her world is depressing and melancholy until she meets Puck. She slowly opens up, allowing herself to feel joy and hope, but with it, fear and vulnerability.
"I understand why you don’t trust me. I’m his daughter, after all... Father’s a different person...since that day."
(beginning to tear up) "I’m scared... Sometimes I feel...almost as if...he’s not human anymore."
(ceiling falling all around her) "KYAAAA! ...Hu...Hunh?!"

"Ugh... Strangely humid tonight."
"Hey, don’t joke like that. At this castle, that’s not even funny."
"What’s wrong?"

"Heh heh... On a night like this we should just take off."
"H-hey...over there..."
"Wh-who goes there?!"

"GAAGH?!"
Brute battle sounds. Grunting, roaring, etc.
