Be More Chill - The Genderbent Musical
Project Overview
What is this?
A Genderbend musical cast recording of the broadway musical Be More Chill! This particular project is going to be edited and arranged just for fun, and then uploaded to YouTube. For those of you unfamiliar with the musical: Be More Chill follows the life and experiences of Jeremy, an awkward high school kid who just wants to fit in, he has an equally awkward best friend Michael, and has a crush on theatre nerd Christine. Jeremy gets a tip from fellow classmate Rich about a super computer called a SQUIP, he takes it and it takes the form of Keanu Reeves and it directs him how to be 'cool' with no regard for his previous friendships and connections. Be More Chill's story line focuses on self growth, acceptance and friendship.
Requirements:I would like to have the audio be clear while a microphone is preferable, I will be taking the audio clarity fo your audition into account. If you are using a mic, please ensure that your microphone is capable of recording your performance without picking up overwhelming background noises or excessive peaking/clipping. If you cannot commit to the needs of a given role as musical theatre is a quite emotive and theatrical style, please only audition if you can give the performance the role requires.
A few final notes:1.) As I love this musical, I will be choosing cast members based on vocal quality, how your voice suits the role and vocal range.

The "SQUIP" (Super Quantum Unit Intel Processor) is a super-computer inside Jeremy Heere's head that's purpose is to help him become popular and win the love of his crush, Christine Canigula

She's sweet, sensitive, smart, a little nerdy, and canonically has Attention Deficit Disorder. (ADD) She's a theatre kid and cares deeply about it; the kind of girl who knows she'll thrive in college.

Chloe is the hottest girl in school. Confident, crass, sexy and manipulative, she's the undisputed queen of the social scene and rules over everyone with unquestioned power. She's a total diva.

Sweet and a little insecure, she's Chloe's sidekick and always happy to defer to her, although she isn't nearly as driven or dominating. She's small but sassy, and also developed a small crush on Jeremy after meeting him at the mall but this is short-lived after reconnecting with Chloe.

Jenna Rolan is the local gossip at Middleborough High School. She knows everyone's business but feels like no one wants to get to know her. Though not one of the cool kids, she is often seen hanging out with her friends, Chloe Valentine and Brooke Lohst, at play rehearsal.

Although there are few scenes that show Rich actually speaking and interacting with others while un-Squipped, it is obvious that his true personality is much different than his Squipped self; he is excitable, bubbly, and overall much nicer.
