Battle Craze is an upcoming fighting game from Team Craze! We're currently looking for voice actors who fit the backgrounds of our characters and can bring their personalities to light!
What is Battle Craze, first of all?
Battle Craze is a fighting game that our project lead, Janis Luciani, has been thinking of for years. In 2019, she took the first steps to making her dream game, when she began spriting the characters and collaborating with our head programmer, DrKelexo, to create these characters in the MUGEN engine. While we have an open beta up in the IKEMEN engine currently, we plan to recreate it in Game Maker and heavily improve upon it, without the confines of IKEMEN's engine. To make it something professional, and to fully realize Janis's dream, we realized we needed voices!
That's where you come in! We're hoping to get some folks on board and supply us with voices for these characters, to really bring them to life! We hope you enjoy what we have enough to give us a chance and audition; hopefully, you'll be the official voice of a character in Battle Craze!
For reference, the characters who are given vague descriptions and have blacked out icons are characters we haven't formally revealed yet! Don't worry about not knowing the character's name beforehand; if you get the part, we'll give you all the info you need!
Some ground rules and stuff before we begin:
- Most lines are in English, with some non-English languages interspersed. VAs must have a good grasp of the non-English used by their character.
- We are casting by ethnicity/background and want characters who can closely match that background while providing an excellent performance. If you do not match that character's background, please do not submit an audition for them.
- This only applies to human characters. Non-humans are free-for-all, as far as we're concerned.
- Please make sure you have a good mic and an environment conducive to voice acting. If you're too quiet, or the audition sounds amateurish, it will be disregarded. Same goes for noise in the recording; a little noise reduction is perfectly fine, but if your voice is negatively affected by it, best to find a closet and just record in there.
- Please include all contact info that we specify! Also, please be sure to have a Discord account so that we can actually organize recording sessions and offer feedback.
- No need for post-processing on your lines; our audio folks will handle that!
- Some characters curse a bit. Nothing out of place for a T-rated game, but if even minor swearing isn't your thing, try to audition for characters who are a bit cleaner!
- PLEASE, do not phone in your lines. Bring energy to this!
- Slating is fine, but not necessary.
- If need be, we may ask you to do some minor roles as well as the major ones you apply for. It's not required for you to, though!
- And finally, yes, you will be credited in the game!
Additional stuff (courtesy of Janis herself):
-Voiceline sessions are done in the Battle Craze Discord with Janis on call for direction. You will get an invitation to the server if you are accepted for a role.
-Voice Inspos are placed mainly for dialect, the way your general tone of voice should be for these characters.
The deadline is merely prospective; we can extend it if we need more VAs!
