Batman: The Black Casebook (Brickfilm Series)
Project Overview
INTRODUCTION:
Welcome to the “Batman: The Black Casebook” Casting Call! This is a stop-motion animation series based on the character of Batman and his surrounding universe. As a fan of the character for years I’ve always wanted to bring out all the things I love about the character into one big project and with the help of the LDCN (Lego DC Nation) I’m getting ready to do that.
The main idea of this series is to explore all of the facets of Bruce Wayne’s life. His time with each Robin, his colorful and iconic Rouges Gallery, and fighting against the Biggest of Bads with a Team of Gods. This series won’t necessarily be explicit as it is LEGO, but there may be occasional cursing and or topic discussion of things like murder since he is a detective.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
These roles are commitments, nothing extremely serious, but they are expected to be reposed several times and to be available for other appearances outside of the main series.
-I don’t expect Mic quality to be the greatest, I’ll take iPhone quality as long as the audio is good enough and the background sound isn’t toppling over the performance.
-If cast a Discord account would be preferred, but an Email is also perfectly fine. I won’t need this information before casting unless requested, so don’t feel pressured to give it if you are seeking a role.
-There will be more casting calls for this series in the future, so if you don’t get a role this time always come back you never know if your voice may fit another main or side character in the show!
- If you have any questions about a character or role feel free to shoot me a message on Discord or CCC!
-Other than that, have fun!

Bruce Wayne is younger at the begging of this series. He’s only 26 at the time we’re now meeting him. He’s still deeply scarred from his parents' deaths. He’s starting to heal these wounds with close family and friends like Harvey Dent, Alfred, and Dick. I want to be able to hear a distinctive voice between Batman and Bruce Wayne for this version of the character. Bruce is also on the younger side so while still having a deeper voice, his voice should still have lighter tones to it (Think Ben Makenzie, Robert Pattinson, and Kevin Conroy in Mask of The Phantasm).

I am Vengeance...I am the Night... I am Batman!
Everything is back the way it was. No. Not everything. The doubt is still there, even if they were an illusion, there is uncertainty. Is it possible that I never brought their killer to Justice? And in the end does that matter? Does that make a difference in what I do? No… It does not.
I’m sure there will be time for a proper interview about the candidates at a later time, Ms. Gleason. In the meantime why don’t you talk to Lucius Fox here, he runs all of the Wayne Tech division.
Alfred Pennyworth, what’s there to say about the man who raised Batman himself? Alfred is a British Gentleman and a father. Both these attributes should come out but he also knows how to have a little fun. He’s a bit sassy when he means to be.

But if you do that, sir, if you let the last drive Batman, his scars, he becomes something dark, a Demon of Vengeance. Not a creature of Justice or Hope. And he will not last, nor will you.
You know. When you started this journey, you told me you’d be hitting them more than they you.
Jim Gordon is tired. He’s been doing this gig too long and for too long he’s seen the city eat itself. But one day Batman comes and he becomes a little less of a grouch. He’s shaken out of apathy into action and with that he becomes the most trustworthy person Bruce Wayne and Batman will ever know. He’s honest to a fault and he’s always got your back. Jim’s voice should have a tired quality to it but with strength and warmth. He’s not apathetic but he’s thinking about getting home to kids while he takes in all the craziness of Gotham.

You know, I’m practically blind without my glasses. Sirens coming. You better go.
I’ve got a friend coming who might be able to help. She be here any minute.
Being a cop means something, you swore an oath. Today you broke that, you broke a sacred bond. You’re no better than them.
Selina Kyle is more than just Batman’s feline friend. She came from the nothing of Gotham streets and the Wayne-funded orphanage, one day she took a Leap of faith… right into a dumpster and she was saved by what always kept her company, Cats. She’s not like Joker or Riddler, she’s not a supervillain, she’s just a girl who likes pretty things. What’s so bad about that? Selina has deep-rooted issues of her own concerning trust and seeing her and Bruce work on this through the series should be fun. She’s iconic for her sultry femme fatale voice but I’d like to keep that aspect but tone it down a little. She should sound tough and calculated, ready for action at a moment’s notice. She can read a room like a book and she always comes out on top. Let all her vulnerabilities and strengths seep through in her voice.

My world is all just shades of grey, Batman. That's why you'll never really understand me. It's about good people being forced into bad situations. That's my territory... in between right and wrong. Which is a place you can never go. And we both know it.
They walk in her blood to take her last ten dollars, because they think she's not a person. But they're wrong... She was. They all were... And I will speak for them. Because no else will.
If you play your cards right, maybe you can take me out again next Saturday.
Commissioner Essen is one of the good cops in Gotham City. Like Gordon, she too wants Gotham to be safe and free from Crime but unlike him, she disapproves of Batman and his methods. She’s a strong-willed character willing to bend the rules if it’s the right thing to do. You wouldn’t want to be her enemy or harm any of the people she has under protection, if you do, it’ll spell bad news for you.

For all you know, the Batman could change on a regular basis-- and you've dealt with five of them. Maybe the only constant has been the costume.
Now you're going to pull the noble routine on me? Play rogue male, wounded by life and resigned to living it out on his own? I love you, James. I love every stupid prideful thing about you. And I want to share the rest of your life with you even if it only lasts an hour.
Put the gun down, freak!
Sofia Falcone is furious about the recent death of her father, Carmine Falcone. She seeks Revenge and Justice against Batman and the GCPD who chased him, locked him away, and got him killed in prison. She’s currently the active Mayor of Gotham city, planning to diplomatically ruin Batman. Sofia has a deep voice, she is a very straightforward character- like Bruce in this way- who chooses to only speak when absolutely worth the time. She’s driven and focused and big and strong. She should sound like she knows exactly what she’s doing before the words come out of her mouth.

I was thirteen when my father first sent me away. He said that Gotham was too dangerous. This is my home. I wanted to come home. Is that enough?
A Father’s love can be a terrible thing…
I want you feel as I felt, watch as your life slips way from you, helpless to act.
Summer Gleason is a strong backbone to the world of Gotham. She’s a reporter for the Gotham Gazette and the no.2 reporter there only second to Vicki Vale. She shows us how Gotham feels, thinks, and operates. She’s an ace reporter so she often skips the jokes and puns like that of Lois Lane or her Contemporaries. She’s deadpan and forward.

Summer Gleason, Gotham Gazette, can I ask you a few questions, Mister Wayne?
Vicki Vale, the no.1 reporter at the Gotham Gazette. You can be sure that any article or News reporter from Vicki will have you questioning if the steak you ate last night was really ethically produced.

But the question remains to be asked: Who are our true protectors in Gotham? The police who’ve assaulted innocent protesters tonight or The fabled Batman who’s responsible for Tonight’s outcome?
