Barbie Stopmotion Wizard Of Oz Recreation of Full 1939 Film
Project Overview
This is a project in which I am recreating the entire full length feature film from 1939 The Wizard Of Oz by MGM. And putting it on YouTube. However to complete this project I will need vocie actors to fill many of the postitions in the film from Dorothy to the munchkins and the flying monkeys. There are many roles in this film which require many lines and singing ability. These characters are the more frequently used and tend to be more remembered. However there is a wide range of characters even down to those with few lines which I need to fill. No character is to small and I could really use the help. If you think you are right for the job give it a try!

- This is for the role of Dorothy Gale in the project. This is the lead role in the project and this being has the most lines in the production. Whoever will be portraying her should have a Judy Garland like feeling. She should be childish yet mature and adult in some ways. This actress should have good singing abilities as the production is a musical and should be enough like Judy that it is recognizable but not parody. Dorothy is a very long term role in the film.

A place where you won’t get into any trouble, do you suppose there is such a place toto there must be, it’s not a place you can get to by a boat or a train, it’s far far away
There’s Emerald City- Oh we’re almost there at last at last
that’s to wonderful to be true ( sing a part of over the rainbow)
This is the role of the Scarecrow in the Wizard Of Oz. The scarecrow is one of the more major male characters in the production and has many lines. Whoever portrays this character should have a good singing vocie and should be a confident singer as this character will end up signing a lot. This actor should have close to the same feeling as the character from the 1939 film. As well as Playing the scarecrow this actor will also play the human version of the character being Hunk in the Kansas scenes. This is a long term role.

This is the role of the Tin Man in the Wizard of Oz. The Tin Man is a role which requires a good amount of voice acting as well as a lot of singing is involved. I would like the character to have a sort of Jack Haley like voice similar to the 1939 movie but not parody like. As well as playing the Tin Man in Oz you should also be willing to play the human version character known as Hickory. In these sequences he doesn’t do much but he does have a few lines no singing. However this role is a long term role consisting of many lines and songs throughout the entire film.

This is the role of the Cowardly Lion in the Wizard Of Oz. In this role I would like the voice to sound very similar to the original character from the 1939 film and the way Bert Lahr portrayed the character. The lion is a silly kind of character and often cry’s a lot. In addition to playing to lion this actor will also play his human version being Zeke on the Kansas farm. This would be a long term role consisting of many lines and songs.

( sing a part of king of the Forrest)
This is the role of Glinda The Good Witch. Glinda is a warm and caring figure in the land of Oz. Glinda is the first person Dorothy meets in the land of Oz after her drop into Oz. Glinda should have a warm almost grandmother or mother figure kind of voice, but not to stern. Glinda is very frequently used in the scenes she is in. These consisting of the very beginning and very end of the oz sequences. Glinda also has a song in the film. So the actress portraying her should have a good singing vocie. Glinda is a long term character.

This is the role of the Wicked Witch Of The West in the Wizard Of Oz. The Wicked Witch is the main antagonist in the story, seeking out to gain Dorothy’s magical ruby slippers and doing anything to get them. The wicked witch is a prominently featured character in many parts of the film, appearing many times throughout the production. In addition to the oz sequences as well as in the Kansas sequences as Miss Gulch. I would like the actress potraying the Witch to have a similar sounding vocie to the original Margaret Hamilton in the 1939 film. The Wicked Witch has many lines in the film, but never sings. The witch is a long term role.

This is the role of one of the grumpy talking apple trees from the Wizard Of Oz. This is one of the two talking apple trees that are located in the apple orchard. These trees get very angry and start throwing apples at Dorothy and the Scarecrow. The trees should be kind of like a grumpy old couple to two of them. Like grumpy old people sitting on their porch. Apple tree one is the more manly sounding of the two. This is a short term role with only a few lines.

This is the role of the Emerald City Salon Girls. This is a role that could be had by multiple people as there are a few of the girls, I am also willing to make this role a solo singing part or just duplicate audio in order to make it seem like more people are singing. The salon girls help to give the cowardly lion a makeover at the Emerlad City in order to get him ready to see the wizard. This is a singing role so you should be a good singer.
