Onyx Volcan
@onyxvolcan(She/Her) Hello there! I'm Onyx Volcan, a Gem of a Voice with a volcanic flair!
Welcome to my little section of the wide web! Shall I assume you're looking for a seductive femme fatale? Perhaps a sassy drama queen? Maybe a shy sweet cleric? Whatever you are looking for, I am here to add that little glimmer of a sparkle.
I've been acting since 2020, and have a particular proficiency in audiobook narration (I always did love having conversations with myself!), and am professionally trained in it, along with other genres under coaches like Brendan Hunter, Elley Ray, June Yoon, Kiba Walker, and more.
This course, as you might expect, taught me the fundamentals of voice acting, and my acting has been able to improve in leaps and bounds since.
This course was the Emotional Rollercoaster as Closing Credits calls it, and for good reason. It taught me so much that I needed to know to deepen my acting ability, and strengthened my confidence in both what I already knew and what I should have been doing.
This course is where my ability to play around with my characters has grown. Still got a ways to go, but it's put me on the path.
By far my favorite course I've ever taken. I learned much more than I ever expected to, and I've grown more as a person and an actor in the course's 6 week run than I have with anything else.
Now this is where I've begun learning to make my audio sound all nice and pretty! I realized I desperately needed this course after taking Audiobooks for Voice Actors and finding out all of ACX's (An Audiobook audition and production site) requirements XD It was a very helpful course, teaching me the fundamentals I needed and giving me a lot to play around with to increase my audio quality should a client require it.
This course was my first proper step into the world of ADR, and taught me how to keep up with the pace of a scene and still retain the all emotion that needs to be shown.
This course with Lau taught me how to better manage the business side of my voice over work. As such I can manage my clients better, and provide more clear communication, while also having a better understanding of how to manage a business.
This course taught me to play more in my work, to provide a more fun and heartfelt product.
This is the course where my character work was taken to a whole other level, and I can tackle the most complex of characters with ease.
Here I learned the do's and don't's for business, how to better calculate my abilities, and my strengths, and all around be a better businesswoman.
Please contact me for an estimate!
Previously I've worked on audiobooks and other odds and ends including a visual novel and book trailer, but I'm eager to traverse into other genres, both to satisfy your needs and explore my options.
I have yet to run across anything I am not willing to do, but if there's something that comes up, I'll be certain to communicate those issues with you, and I ask that you do the same. I'd like to make you as comfortable as possible.
Depending on the project, I may request that you credit me under my other pseudonym, Marie Bishop, as for projects that lean into more risque subjects I'd like to keep private from my family.

Onyx is a wonderful VA I've had the pleasure of knowing for two years now who always strives to create a friendly atmosphere in whatever project she participates in. She's been a blast to work with and always delivers high quality lines for the roles she's assigned.

Onyx voiced an elderly woman in my audio drama "Into the Light." She immediately understood what the character should sound like. She was professional and submitted her lines quickly and efficiently. I recommend anyone working with her! :)
