I'm an aspiring voice actor and content creator. I do podcasts/reviews on my channel "NobleAbsinthe" on Youtube. I do videos on tangential thoughts and animations I liked as a child. I currently work on a Samurai Jack retrospective series.
Like many people who wish to become voice actors,I was inspired by various types of: anime, cartoons, and video games; however, I understand those inspirations don't translate well for a starting out voice actor.
As for semi-professional experience to things that relate to voice acting, or things that benefit voice actors I've:acted in drama club in highschool, took public speaking, and HR management in college. In my adult life I've surrounded myself with a wide range of people who don't surround themselves with anime/video games. I also watch alot of live action movies that have an emphasis on speaking, my favorite movie is Synecdoche NY, which I still feel is the most surreal and real film one could watch. I mention this because I've learned that surrounding yourself with people who only know anime/video games colors your perception on acting, and watching serious films gives one an idea on how a real performance should be given, subtlety being the key.
