About Madison Bishop

Education & About Me

I went to school for performance at Northern Illinois University where I graduated with a BFA in acting. My study also included a semester abroad at the Moscow Art Theatre School in Moscow Russia and obtained a certificate in stage fencing (one and two-handed styles).

I have a dedicated home studio set up that includes a RØDE NT-1 Microphone, and Scarlett 2i2 Interface. I use Adobe Audition as my DAW and utilize iZotope RX Elements, Waves and various other audio editing plugins for more in depth capabilities. I also have experience submitting files to the ACX recording standards (see more about my audiobook in my credits below. or on my website)

On a personal note, I love to crochet, and am also prone to get lost in a book, a video game, or a game of Dungeons & Dragons. I consider myself a self-proclaimed connoisseur of tea and an expert cat-herder of 2 fluffy rambunctious felines, Luna & Nox.

Education
Northern Illinois University - 2018

Bachelors of Fine Arts

Instructed by

I pursued a specialized acting program at Northern Illinois University, where I graduated with a BFA in Acting. My education primarily focused on the Meisner method, complemented by voice training that emphasized the Fitzmaurice method, the International Phonetic Alphabet, and dialects. Additionally, I participated in various movement training classes, including a ballet class—which I surprisingly enjoyed!

Moscow Art Theatre School - 2016

Bachelors of Fine Arts

Instructed by

During my junior year in college, I had the incredible opportunity to study abroad at the Moscow Art Theatre School in Russia. There, I dove into the world of the Stanislavski method and Droznin movement techniques. I also got hands-on learning with fencing, stage combat, and singing. And it was here that I received a certification for on-stage fencing. I saw many fantastic performances and history too- it was an unforgettable experience!

Audio Engineering for Voice Actors

Instructed by Tony Wijs

This journey included mastering the basics, engaging in hands-on applications, optimizing my recording space for the best possible recordings, and uncovering the capabilities and operations of my digital audio workstation (DAW). Through these efforts, I’ve developed an effective editing chain, enabling me to deliver a professional-sounding final product to my clients.

Alex Charles Music - 2024

Singing

Instructed by Alex Sugarman

I laid the groundwork of my singing skills with two years of private vocal study under the incredible Stephanie Myre (affiliated with the National Association of Teachers of Singing) before college. Since then, I’ve kept the momentum going with lessons from Alex Sugarman when I can. Lessons with Alex not only broadened my horizons into new genres but also equipped me with new and exciting skills. For me, singing lessons are about more than just hitting the right notes – they’re about experimenting with new sounds, delving deeper into my vocal range, and pushing the boundaries of what I thought possible.

What Madison Bishop is looking for

I'm looking to grow my experience through any project but hope to focus more on character/ acting type work. With a long-time love of video games, it would rock my socks to lend my voice to a video game project.
