Hello! I’m Eddy Ranford, an illustrator, animator, and character designer! I am currently an animation major at the Columbus College of Art and Design. My work has a “cartoony” style to it, with my characters more often than not having big eyes and big ears. I also really like using bright pastel colors in my work, which tends to give it a more childlike feel.

I absolutely LOVE cartoons, always have. The biggest visual inspirations for my work are various art styles on Cartoon Network from the mid to late 2010s (The Amazing World of Gumball, Steven Universe, Craig of the Creek, etc…) Even though I get most of my visual inspiration from kid shows, I like to use that in contrast to some of the standard adult animation themes I like to include in my stories. Think like, Bob’s Burgers, the Simpsons, and Smiling Friends.

I also like to include more people of color in all my stories. Growing up, I didn’t see many cartoons that had characters that looked like me. Now as an adult, I see a lot more kid shows that have people of color, but now there’s almost nothing as far as adult animation goes. I’d really love to change that by incorporating more people of color characters into animation!
