Currently studying Music Technology BA. Background in classical music, and further experience in digital media.

Merging an adventurous approach to composition and a goal to develop something different for every project helps creates the distinctive sound of mitaemi. My eclectic musical grounding, originating from a classical music background, has fuelled my passion to develop a unique approach to hybridising electroacoustic instrumental composition- taking inspiration from artists such as Kensuke Ushio, Steve Reich, and Masafumi Takada. This influence led my general compositional style to a unique blend of mallet-focused melodies on top of a bed of electronic synthesis, paired further with more acoustic layers.

Previously, I have worked on various amateur short films, audio dramas and game soundtracks- with further experience for a number of years as a theatre technician and session musician. One of my current projects consists of developing an original soundtrack for the fangame 4Killing, which combined has nearly 1 million views on YouTube. One of my most successful compositions “Fluto no Uta” (フルートの歌), was selected by the BBC Ten Pieces project to be performed at the BBC Proms 2016 in the Royal Albert Hall by the BCC Philharmonic Orchestra. As well as music, I am also experienced in digital media and video editing. I previously worked at Glastonbury Festival 2019 alongside the BBC as a Director, Camera Operator and Vision Mixer.

Recently, I have been expanding my artistic spectrum through developing my methodology as a graphic designer. My design influence draws from artists such as Kazumasa Nagai, April Greiman and Michael Craig Martin to create a modern twist of the 1980s style. Recently, I have opened a shop on Redbubble, which is becoming increasingly popular. In the future, I would like to combine my experience with digital media and video editing to develop hybridised projects of my own. I am also interested in using my artistic skillset to design promotional posters, merchandise and branding for companies, artists and bands.
