About Cursed with Glorious Purpose

Hi,

My name is Tae Hyung Ruisch. I am a Dutch composer and arranger. I write concert works for Symphonic orchestra which I later rewrite for Wind orchestra. At eight years old I took piano lessons at the Ferwerda academy at Drachten. During my lessons, I started making covers of game music for piano which I later wrote into versions for bands and orchestra. In 2010 I studied Artist Sound design at D'drive college in Leeuwarden where he concentrated on film scores, recording, piano music and orchestration. During his study, I met producer Marcel Kostwinder which I wrote several compositions with like: Follow the River, Plain Fields and Pirates Dream.
After graduating in 2014, I continued at the Ferwerda academy where I took conducting lessons. Starting to conduct a Childs choir in 2016, I became the conductor of the Family choir in 2018 and a year later, I am the conductor of the St. Cecilia choir at the Catholic church at Heerenveen. Since recently, I have been taking orchestration lessons with media composer Tom Schipper. Here I examine my own compositions and learn more about historical orchestration.
My first professional work: Fort Galleon was performed live by the North Netherlands youth orchestra conducted by Erik Janssen. This orchestra played the wind orchestra version of Fort Galleon. On October 15th Tae Hyung participated in the Amadeus Composition contest with Fort Galleon and was awarded the second prize with 86 points.
I am a classical pianist for more than 12 years now. When I was 8, I started to compose my own numbers for my own audiobooks. Symphonic orchestral's has always interested me.
Inspiration comes from listen to other styles of music, Film soundtracks and Video game music.
The programs that I use to make my music are Finale and Pro Tools.
