What are cookies?

A cookie is a small text file that a website saves on your computer or mobile device when you visit the site.

What cookies are set by visiting our site?

Functional Cookie

It enables the website to remember your actions and preferences (such as login, timezone, font size and other display preferences) over a period of time, so you don’t have to keep re-entering them whenever you come back to the site or browse from one page to another.

Analytical Cookie

We use Simple Analytics because they are privacy focused. They are fully GDPR compliant and they do not collect IP addresses so they cannot track you when you are offline. Please have a read on their polices: https://simpleanalytics.com/no-tracking
We use this cookie to compile visitor statistics such as how many people have visited our website, what type of technology they are using (e.g. Mac or Windows which helps to identify when our site isn't working as it should for particular technologies), how long they spend on the site, what page they look at etc. This helps us to continuously improve our website. These so called “analytics” programs also tell us if how people reached this site (e.g. from a search engine) and whether they have been here before helping us to put more money into developing our services for you instead of marketing spend.
We also use the Google Analytics cookie for the same reasons as above, but it is being phased out for a more privacy friendly analytics tool.

Ad Cookies

For a long time, this site relied on ads in order to remain economically viable. We are happy to be phasing this out as well. On some parts of the site, ads are still present. When you visit one of these pages, it is possible that a cookie will be set to track that you have viewed that ad.
