Benjamin Mayer

Benjamin Mayer (he/him) grew up in small-town Iowa and filled his free time with playing outside and when that wasn't happening, he was inside watching cartoons and playing video games. Characters in these mediums that were interesting and sounded cool pushed Ben to become a little mimic, and would rewatch scenes in shows over and over just to listen to and act out one cool-sounding line or powerful delivery- simply because it sounded awesome! Later in his childhood, Ben began to fill his free time by staying involved with many different extracurricular activities. These activities usually involved some sort of stage performance; from musicals and plays to show choir and jazz choir. This enthrallment with the arts didn't stop after he graduated from high school and Ben continued to stay engaged with theater while in college at Iowa State University. In one such play, It's A Wonderful Life: A Radio Play, Ben had the opportunity to voice numerous characters and this was the point in which voice acting became a massive passion for him. While meeting with patrons after the final performance of that radio play, Ben was approached by a theater-goer who happened to be producing a few promotional videos and commercials and thought I would be a great fit for the accompanying voice over. Enthralled, Ben agreed and began his deep dive into the world of voice acting!

After graduating from Iowa State, Ben invested many hours into taking lessons from coaches online and will continue to do so for as long as he is in the business of voice acting. He has also taken the time to design and construct his own booth at home so he can submit studio-quality auditions and to have the proper space to practice his craft. While his booth is definitely sound proof, he is still working to upgrade his audio hardware so he can produce even better quality audio! Ben also has connections with a production studio in Des Moines so he can record for more high-profile gigs if the equipment he owns doesn't meet the client's specifications. Even still, after over a year of hard work, Ben now has a character and a commercial demo to share with everyone!
