About Jor

Hi, I'm Jor

Back in late 2020, I started making games on a Website known as scratch, a beginning level coding website that's perfect for making simple flash-style games

Even with no experience, I still wanted to bring my love of storytelling to the internet via games that people could play. I had a lot of different ideas, but eventually one of them worked. A game called "Trooper Down"
In this game you were a sole survivor who had to defend a cargo ship from hordes of hostile alien lifeforms called "The Fury"
The game was... super basic, and was made nearly 4 years ago. My art skills sucked, my coding skills sucked, the game itself pretty much sucked. However, me and my brother then began discussing on how easy it would be to expand on this universe a little, bringing more story and life into it, and making a sequel with a more unique set of levels and over all just ways to play. Although my brother no longer works on this universe anymore, I still do. Early 2021 I announced how I would make a sequel with a better storyline and everything. And after the summer, I finally shared it.
My coding still wasn't the best... and my art was still pretty bad... but it was a START to say the least. Characters now had names and were even voiced by some people I knew from scratch. Trooper Down 2 was in no way perfect, but it definitely showed that it was in fact possible to create a more story-driven game on a limited website. but what shocked me the most is it got nearly 3k views the first few weeks it was out. People were... actually enjoying it too. I grew a pretty small fanbase, but I did promise more to come.

Weeks went by. I eventually got a discord account and even set up a small dev team. There we discussed lore and gameplay improvements whenever we were bored. But as time went on and on we just weren't making enough progress. What's worse is my art had not improved AT ALL
The year was now 2023. The dev team was still in perfect shape but we all knew that we hadn't gotten any work done for a long time, and we still had a long way to go. We did however manage to get a improved gameplay mechanic that played way more smoothly then just using arrow keys to look around, and space bar to shoot. Yet progress was still low.
The year was now 2024, and I was beginning to believe that coding games was just too ambitus. I kinda wanted to be a YouTuber instead, yknow? Then... Spring break happened. I decided to open the tech demo we were silently making. I began messing with some mechanics, drew a few scenes, then... something just clicked. I was actually... making progress for once? and it was... fun?

Once summer started, it was like all of the sudden I had gotten a lot more enjoyment out of making things on scratch again.

And that's why I am here

I have made so much progress, and so much improvements, that it feels like I'll be done with enough work
but the one thing that I was missing? was a cast

People who had TALENT and people who were willing to voice these characters of mine just for the fun of it.

Its thanks to you guys that this project of mine will truly come to life
