Hello! My name is Jo, and I am committed to quality storytelling. It's been a lifelong dream of mine to contribute to the entertainment industry in a way that will touch others lives the same way that movies, television, music, and games have touched mine. Nice to meet you!
EXPERIENCE
I've spent my entire life studying my craft. I've been performing since I was 11 years old, but from the moment I was born I have always been a creative, writing and drawing my own comics and stories and performing them for anyone who was willing to listen. I've taken a many voiceover workshops in my teens, and attended many, many voice over panels at conventions I've attended. I enrolled in the American Musical and Dramatic Academy's musical theatre program in 2018, where I received extensive training in live and on-camera acting, accent work, singing technique, breath work, audio and video production, cosmetics, music theory, creative writing, copywriting, directing, and of course, voice over. I graduated in June of 2022, and I've been trying to put my life together ever since. I've been fortunate to receive the opportunities for performance that I have, and as an agender individual I strive to bring diversity and community to every work I have involvement in.
VOCAL QUALITIES
PITCH
My natural speaking voice sits at the mid-to-low range. However, my speaking and singing range can go from this androgynous, lower register to a very high pitched and squeaky top register. In singing ensembles, I am often an alto, but for leading vocals I am a brassy mezzo-soprano with a few soprano notes. (D3 - E6)

My voice would be suitable for feminine voices of all ages, male children and/or young teens, and androgynous characters of any age.

Voice Over Workshop: Voice Over 101
Beginner's voice over workshop with the late Stu Levin. Went over voice over practices, sound booth etiquette, and needs for different types of voice over. Included expert vocal direction and input from peers.
Advanced Voice Acting Techniques
Advanced voice over workshop with the late Stu Levin. Continued working on voiceover practices, accent work, industry standards, equipment, and more, with a keener focus on detail and nuance.
Graduated the American Musical and Dramatic Academy with a BFA in Music Theatre. I
received a well-rounded education in acting technique, singing
technique, dance technique, directing, stage management, audio
engineering, sound design, set design, costuming, hair and make-up,
screenwriting, and more.
Jennifer Bennett was my personal vocal instructor from 2018 through 2022, and she taught me vocal and signing techniques, operatic and classical singing, pop singing, musical theatre singing, improved my range, improved my book, and made me an overall better performer than when I first enrolled at AMDA.
All of my rates are negotiable! My rates are based off the GVAA Rate Guide for industry work, and the VAC Indie Rate Guide for smaller indie projects. Indie projects are considered to be any work created by a small creator or small creative team with a modest budget for commercial release. Paid passion projects meant for a casual release would also fall under this category.
I am not currently accepting unpaid roles I do not audition for.
While I'm looking for character work most of all, preferably in animation and gaming, I am open to any and all work. I am looking to build a resume of memorable commercial and character work to hone my skills as I climb toward my goals.
